Oh, the salt when there are no unlockable characters in Pokken outside of Mewtwo...
Worst part? I don't have enough spare cash to get the game yet.
So I guess I'll be sticking with Smsh for now... especially after this patch.
Am I the only one who thinks Greninja is easily top 20 now, maybe even top 15?
I honestly believe greninja and mewtwo where gonna be top 20 before the sheik nerf, and now I'm sure of it

Playing through Pokken, and going through it's cast has ended up in quite a few unexpected unions (except Sceptile. I wanted to play him since his announcement and he doesn't disappoint). So far Machamp is beastly, and Gardevoir fills my Technical spot when I thought Gengar would.
Where does Mewtwo fall in all of this? Is he good? He deals a **** ton of damage and has the most specials, and a decent amount of health. Though he looks like he lacks ground speed and attack speed.

So the biggest winner of this patch so far is probably Samus, right?

Because of money issues, I'm going to have to wait a few days for Pokken.
I'm so salty that the US Eshop doesn't seem to have the demo.
At my local and I'm both happy and pissed at how quickly Mewtwo went from "SOOO light" to "absolutely broken."
It's hilarious how much people are going crazy over Mewtwo's microscopic weight buff when it barely even makes a difference.
I've also learned that Ness is basically win button against me. I'm drowning in salt right now.
Oh yeah, I hate fighting that guy. He's one of the few characters I'll actually pull a secondary out on rather than my usual Mewtwo and Charizard.

I got to play Pokken Tournament for a little over an hour tonight. About half the time was spent on the tutorial. Helped enough for me to go through the Green League once without losing a round. Played a couple of Free Battles with CPU and I only lost one round as Shadow Mewtwo. So out of a whole hour of playing, I've lost one round to a CPU Pikachu. Haven't played online because I know I'd be dominated by Tekken players. I'm disappointed by not being able to use Shadow Mewtwo in the Ferrum League through amiibo. I barely have time to play, so I doubt I'll be able to unlock Mewtwo before I leave for navy training next month.

I tried both of them too. I ALMOST had him in tournament but fell short. He even said he was sure he lost.

Arguably, though most agree she's still not anything above mid-tier quite yet. I honestly think Mewtwo and Ganondorf got almost as much if not more (Ganon at least really needed a good jab), along with Greninja, Charizard and Zelda.

Then there's the line of thinking that everyone who has a bad match up against Sheik are the biggest winners.

Speaking of Pokken, I just unlocked Mewtwo myself. Did his Combo Dojo tutorial, and am gonna try him out for a bit online.

If you guys didn't hear, there's a new section for the game/each character, including :150:

Where do you go to read those?
This is probably you're best bet, as it has complete translations/scanlations up to the HGSS saga (~Vol. 42). The saga was finished so you can find the remaining chapters on manga sites like MangaHere. http://jb2448.info/

BW is where things started to die down due to Viz's re-releases, so for that you'll have to buy it if you want to complete reading it, as otherwise only the beginning and ending of the saga are online. B2W2 is dead until Vol. 53. XY really isn't online at this point, as it's being released in monthly magazines. I get most of the summaries from checking out the monthly thread on Serebii and checking pictures on Twitter.

ORAS is being released online for free on this website monthly. It's in Japanese, but Serebii helps. This is also getting full fan translations so MangaHere is also a good source for searching for earlier chapters that are no longer available for regular viewing. http://club.shogakukan.co.jp/

Anyone else get Pokken? Really fun game although it's a bit of a mission to unlock Mewtwo and S-Mewtwo, but they're fun to play as I myself main Chandelure, Weavile and Suicune.

I have it. The game is solid. I am choosing between Gardevoir and Garchomp currently. I have unlocked absolutely nothing though so maybe Mewtwo will be another potential option.

The way I'm doing it is trying to find a character in each category (Standard, Speed, Power and Technical) that I like the best. So far I have Sceptile (my #1) for Speed and Gardevoir for Technical, but am still looking through the Standard and Power since there are a lot in those two.

They could have has two more characters... one Speed and one Technical...
I say for Speed, :4greninja: obviously
and for Technical, :212: because Bug is the only unrepresented type (outside of normal)

Mewtwo & Lucas are the characters that really click with me in a competetive environment. I finally found a smash scene where I live and played a really amazing guy nick-named Repus, a Rosa-main from Germany. Even though he trashed me most of the time, I actually snuck in a couple of victories against him vs his ZSS and Greninja as Mewtwo.

Never have I felt such giddiness and joy playing smash, even when I got styled on! :-)

Eh, Scizor would probably just be another Power character.

To be fair, some Standard characters seem to lean a bit towards another category, like Pikachu towards speed, Suicune to power and Braixen to Technical. Lucario and Blaziken are probably the closest to being "true" Standards.

A Technical bug could either be one of the various butterfly Pokemon, or Leavanny (gen 5 could use a bit more love too).

Mewtwo has the most special pokemon moves.. I'd even consider him being technical for that.. And his moves are pretty strong. So I guess he'd be standard to average them all out.

If it focused less on straight brute force and more on unique moves, I could see it as Technical. Things like U-Turn/Feint attacking enemies swiftly while retreating back, Iron Defense as a counter/sponge move, Swords Dance working kinda like Weavile's Agility, and a few projectile moves for Field phase (Scizor does get stuff like Silver Wind, Flash Cannon, Bug Buzz, Vacuum Wave, Struggle Bug, Razor Wind, and Air Slash, however redundant they may be), along with some debuffing moves like Defog or Double Team.

I still think Vespiquen would be the better choice for a Technical bug, though.

If they add a technical bug without it being Volcarona I will be rioting. (Idc if its another fire type.........just remove Braixen........)

I got Pokken yesterday and I've been using nothing but Gardevoir... she's so fun <333

I still have yet to unlock Mewtwo, and I doubt I'll use him much when I do. Don't get me wrong guys, I absolutely love the character and how he is in Smash, but that's about as far as it does for me. Gardevoir is one of my top 2 favorite Pokemon of all time, so that's why I've been using her.

Also, am I the only one who groans at the sight of a Chandelure or Braixen while online? Chandelure especially...

I got Pokken the day it came out but work hasn't let me play it yet. Gonna play it today. No idea who I'll main since not a single Pokemon really clicks with me. Lucario was fun in B2, Pika was my secondary in Brawl and Mewtwo is one of my top 3 in Sm4sh and top whatever number I have for Melee. Machamp might click with me if he's brute force like Ganon is in Smash.

Machamp is more like Donkey Kong. If you want a character that plays like Robin, go for either Gardevoir or Braixen.

Personally, so many of these choices I like. I can't choose... but I can rule out a few.
Pikalibre, because I far prefer Hawlucha.
Shadow Mewtwo because I far prefer normal Mewtwo.
Machamp on playstyle.
Gengar on playstyle.
Weavile on being Weavile... I never grew to like it.

I wish people would stop with the whole "Pikachu Libre stole Hawlucha's spot!" argument.

Can you imagine Hawlucha playing like Libre? No you can't. They didn't consider Hawlucha over Pika Libre because Libre had a more interesting concept behind it they wanted to explore (based on a Tekken character). This was a role Hawlucha could not fit in.

At first I was in the same boat for the masked bird but enough is enough. I don't even like Hawlucha anymore. Its design is bland and uninteresting.

How can you dislike Hawlucha when he does stuff like this?

I haven't watched the anime for over a decade but even I thought this was awesome.

......because people ***** and moan over him literally everywhere I go.

And Mega Charizard X beat a Mewtwo. Doesn't mean I like X more. I still prefer Y.

I like Robin specifically in Smash. Not an archetype I'm usually into. Power has always been my preference. I see Garchomp, Zard and Machamp are the powerhouses so hoping at least one of them appeals to me.

Is that actually possible?
I'm pretty sure it's a hack. I've seen a similar video with Samus that "fixes" her problems.
Yeah, it's a mod. The creator (thatsmash4modder) does mods similar to this that give characters ridiculous attributes. He's actually working on Smash 4 Minus at the moment.

Garchomp is the "balanced" Power, Charizard has a mobility advantage with his ability to hover but has very slow moves, and Machamp is the close-quarters specialist with a lot of health but extremely limited at a distance.

I figured it would be, I've never seen Mewtwo pull off anything like that in Smash 4. Imagine if he could.... :(
So many more opportunities... though I'm fine with the current Mewtwo tbh :happysheep:

Just gave every character a quick try. Completely forgot Chandelure was power and it is so far my favourite. Charizard and Garchomp are alright too. Blaziken and Pika/Pika Libre are alright too. Have yet to try Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card.

I've been playing pokken nonstop since I got back to college earlier.

Garchomp is the ****ing truth! I feel bad for not going Mewtwo but holy land shark is Garchomp a savage.

The story is decent but doesn't hold together well. The gameplay is absolutely solid though. My main gripes: the English voice actor for Nia needs more practice......a lot more practice....and Shadow Mewtwo apparently got Luffy's Gum-gum fruit somehow (why?).

Agreed on the Nia part, but luckily you can change the language for the characters to their Japanese voice actors, which I deem a lot more bearable than the English ones (not to harp on the voice actors themselves).

I'm also loving the Garchomp life. He feels really solid and I love his earthbender style combat and savage hits. I never raised one in the core games before...need to fix that soon. He's going from "cool guy" to "up-and-coming favorite" in my ranking of Pokemon. The way he plays in Pokken is just so appealing to my style.
