I just think of Mewtwo as a he, especially the anime one from the first movie. I mean, he has the voice and pretty much mind/personality of a male. So biologically genderless, but mind is male

If someone for example put my mind into a genderless body, I'd still think of myself as a male, wouldn't I?

The controller was made by myself. I also made a gold/silver one. This one is still kinda sticky even though I finished it on thursday. The other one isn't sticky anymore and I finished it about a week earlier.

I hope this controller dries up completely before this Friday so I can actually use it .

The english/Americans say they are the legendary dogs. Back where I lived we used to call them the legendary Cats. I don't know why anyone thinks they are dogs, it's like OBVIOUS it's a Tiger and a Lion.

Suicune looks like a Fox to me, but Fox's are canines. I am guessing he's some sort of Leopard or something.

From what I just researched they are believed to be based on 3 mythological beasts from East Asia.

One is a metamorpher who can take the form of a wolf, tiger and various other animals (Raikou).

The other is a Lion. Americans call him a dog because it has "dog traits", but he is definitely just a Lion in Chinese mythology (Entei).

The 3rd one is a mix between a horse, a dragon, an antelope and a leopard (Suicune).



Since Raikou has no wolf traits, I am assuming that all 3 of them were meant to resemble felines and not canines. Even Suicune has spots to resemble his leopard traits.

I honestly see no "dog traits" in Entei other than the fact that the Anime and American version of the game called them "Legendary Dogs" and other than the fact that the Americans call "Shi Shi" (the Chinese Guardian Lion in Mythology) "Guard Dogs" for no reason.

But I guess it's a moot discussion. They are referred to as Legendary Beasts nowadays in almost all sources.

Sheik is indisputable a female, through.
She only wanted to hide her identity and to pretend to be a male.... no need to change her gender for that, unless she was planning to run around naked or something....

Honestly I will never understand why people though Sheik was a guy .

Back when I was 8-9 playing OoT I was certain she was a girl because the main trait for me deciding what gender someone was was the eyes. Her eyes are obviously drawn in the shape of a female, with large eyelashes in a curved manner.

Oh, I know Sheik is a woman. I have no doubt of that. She's always looked very feminine to me. I'm just careful not to imply that under normal circumstances for fear of starting a flame war. I never understood why people thought Sheik was a guy, either, but I do know that such people still exist, so I tend to be cautious of where I state my opinion on Sheik's gender. You wouldn't want to start something if you can avoid it by simply referring to Sheik by her name, you know?

Are you sure there was? I don't remember it to be honest and I've played that game so many times (at least 10). But I could just never have noticed.



For what it's worth, the first time I beat the game I beat it with my sister who is 5 years older than me and she thought Sheik was a guy.

It's funny because when she transformed into Zelda we were both obviously surprised but my sister said: "Wait but isn't he a guy?" and I was like: "What? No, she was obviously a girl from the beginning". It was kind of funny that we had never actually spoken or cared about Sheik's gender until that moment when she was revealed to be Zelda.

I believe in Japanese there are no male/female pronouns so technically it would be the translation team making the decision instead of the actual storywriter.

I might be wrong though, I know almost nothing of Japanese.

After some research I found the actual quote which says "young man" (later on says "thank him"). But I think in Japanese it might just say person, but I can't find the original Japanese quote.

Sheik is also my favorite character in Hyrule Warriors. I'm pretty sure she was my avatar a little while back. I like her Harp's elemental gimmick a lot. It makes her very fun to play as. I just wish that Sheik was as interesting to play in Smash as she is in Hyrule Warriors...

Yeah I like how Sheiks's more colourful but it kind of goes against the whole Ninja thing unless she plans on blending in with bright light instead of darkness. On one hand the dark colours are more suitable for a Ninja but on the other I don't want someone that has a bland colour palette like in most video games with a modernish setting. Smash 4 works as a decent compromise between the two I suppose.

I liked her in Hyrule Warriors gameplay wise for having attacks that were really good when surrounded by a huge horde of enemies. Then I unlocked Super Saiyandorf.

2 - despise the feminine look, they just decided to completely remove her breasts???? I mean, I like how the original Sheik had those strap in her chest to show that she was hiding her breasts, but then, in HW, she is just flat.... without any hint that she is just hiding them.... if she was hiding them.... maybe she really is just flat in that game.
Yeah, I really hate that design.
Having said that, I like a lot the harp gimmick and she is my favorite in HW too....
And, it's a secret to everybody, but I think she is very interesting to play in Smash too!

yes, i kind of drifted away from here for awhile as my interest in playing smash 4 mewtwo drifted away.(i still like mewtwo as a character though) just felt like dropping by for old times sake though i've still shifted to only using mewtwo as a casual "for fun" character.Sheik pronouns is really up to interpretation. officially she is zelda in disguise and in smash she has been consistently female in terms of appearance but her channeling a male sheikah spirit(something i recall being a thing in the non-canon OOT manga series) and the fan stories about zelda possibly being a transman are both compelling alternate continuity interpretations i do enjoy seeing what people do with aswell. but in official zelda series canon yes, sheik is just a version of zelda that happens to be a total badass.

well, I do cosplay and I can say from experience. my fiancie is using those "bands" that is used to hide the boobs so they can cosplay any male character. my fiancie has similiar size as Zelda in Smash4 and when she used one, she got really REALLY flat and it looked like she didnt have any breasts when she cosplayed a guy! I was really amazed when I saw that in action

Yes yes!!! I totally agree. I can see why people would dislike a more feminine Sheik, but I personally like it a lot. Like you said, the brighter colors is really neat. I also really like the ribbon on her head. Her HW design in general is really cute. As for her playstyle, I dunno since I don't have a money to afford a Wii U haha. I like her playstyle in Smash though, even if she's a little bit too good.

On the topic of Sheik's gender, I've always thought Marth was a guy ever since I first played Melee. Nothing about him really screams "female" to me... I've always thought he was just a feminine guy rather than an actual female. I can understand why people would think he's a girl, but I just knew he was a man from the very start.
