Anyone already watched DGS (Dragon Ball Super)?

Also, what does Ryu mean when he says "talk is cheap"? Does he charge a monetary value when their opponent speaks? And what does he know about money anyways, he is a wandering hobo!

By the way, I've seen more shield breaks happen during the short time period Smash 4 has been out than during the entirety of my experience with the other three Smash games.

"The fight is everything" -Ryu

Really though, fighting is pretty much Ryu's way of life and he considers it more important than anything. Anybody he meets
he gets to know not by talking but through their fists. So when he says talk is cheap it's his way of telling you to shut up about how great you think you are because it's your fighting skills that will really tell him what he needs to know. Good comeback against taunt happy opponents.

Yes yes!!! I totally agree. I can see why people would dislike a more feminine Sheik, but I personally like it a lot. Like you said, the brighter colors is really neat. I also really like the ribbon on her head. Her HW design in general is really cute. As for her playstyle, I dunno since I don't have a money to afford a Wii U haha. I like her playstyle in Smash though, even if she's a little bit too good.

On the topic of Sheik's gender, I've always thought Marth was a guy ever since I first played Melee. Nothing about him really screams "female" to me... I've always thought he was just a feminine guy rather than an actual female. I can understand why people would think he's a girl, but I just knew he was a man from the very start.
I agree. I really like that Sheik's more feminine than before, and Sheik's Hyrule Warriors design is cuter than her previous ones. Well, at least as cute as sneaky, knife-wielding ninjas can get:p.

In Hyrule Warriors, Sheik's gimmick is her weapon: the Harp. Sheik's combos are really simple, but every combo finisher has an associated element. After using a combo finisher, a music note with the relevant element's symbol emblazoned on it appears on the HUD. Pressing X will cause Sheik to play her Harp, which will have a variety of different effects that change based on the elemental music note currently present. It's really fun and interesting, and that's part of the reason she's my favorite character!

I don't have anything against Sheik in Smash 4, but, at the same time, she doesn't really do anything for me. I like that she's fast and everything, so I enjoy her playstyle, but none of her moves or attacks really appeal to me. She just doesn't pop out at me like so many other characters do. To me, Sheik is just kind of...there. It's a shame, too, because I really like Sheik as a character. However, I can see why other people would enjoy her as is, and I'll respect that. Still, I personally wouldn't mind seeing a moveset overhaul that involved her Harp from Hyrule Warriors.

I never thought Marth was a girl, either. I mean, he does look pretty feminine, but he never really struck me as a woman. I think the voice is what convinced me he was a man, since it's clearly masculine, and his shortish haircut may have also played a part in my decision. Back when I first laid eyes on Marth, I was young enough that I thought of shorter hair as a masculine trait and longer hair as a feminine trait, so I suppose that may have played a part.

Almost all combos in Hyrule Warriors are simple (mostly when do you want to press X after pressing Y for a while), it's
the attacks themselves as well as character-specific mechanics that bring the complexity.

Yes, that's true. However, many characters can perform multiple Charge Attacks in a row, whereas Sheik has no such combo string. Also, some characters have attacks that can't link into Charge Attacks, which is something that Sheik only has one of, and, even then, it's the very last attack in her combo tree. Sheik's combo tree is rather basic compared to most other characters': any attack, save for the last one, can link into one Charge Attack. It's very simple, even by Hyrule Warriors standards.

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that Sheik's combos are relatively simple.

Not yet, but I did read the first two manga chapters earlier today.

IDK retelling the story of Battle of Gods doesn't really get me hyped just yet for what's to come (especially now that the movie is now technically non-canon).

Regardless, it's nice to have another weekly manga to look forward to.

You know what? 2 things. Mega Kingler should happen and we need GOOD Ghost Rider movies
Ghost Rider is irrelevant. Hulk actually is the one that needs a good movie and isn't tied to Iron Man, Captain America and Thor.

And Spider-Man
And The Punisher
And The Fantastic 4 (although they always sucked)

Ghost Rider needs something to make up for the flaming piss.

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2.
Sure.
Definitely.

The FF aren't good even that cartoon wasn't as decent as it was. They are kinda the example of a very crappy series of comics. It has worst quality than X-Men or Spider-Man, it's probably the least popular of Marvel series and its villain is better for every other series that's not related to them.

It'd be a good follow up to Infinity War. Of course Hulk has to go to space first and having the Fantastic 4 stuff back would be required.

World War Hulk? I need info on this
Planet Hulk happens where he's shot into space by Iron Man, Dr Strange, Black Bolt and Mr Fantastic because he's too much of a threat. Instead of going to the peaceful land they said he'd go to he ends up on Sakaar which is basically a really violent planet with an empire and gladiator battles. Hulk has to join a team (Warbound) and kicks ass in the arena and fights Silver Surfer. After that everyone rebels, empire is overthrown and Hulk get's married with a kid on the way. The shuttle he was in has a bomb that get's triggered and it kills Hulk's wife and his people.

He get's VERY pissed off and heads back to Earth with his Warbound to make Iron Man, Dr Strange,Black Bolt and Mr Fantastic pay.

I think I'll probably vote for Mew as a support Pokémon. She could do all sorts of cool things, what with her ability to learn every HM and TM. I'm not entirely sure how that would translate into Pokkén, though...

So, regarding the mystery pokemon that was shown in the image of the new movie, I think that might be Kyurem fused with Zekrom and Reshiram, aka The Original Dragon. The silhouette has some resemblances with their designs; the wings are a bit similar to Reshiram's, it also seems to be corpulent like Zekrom and you can also see it has some kind of bright jewel in it's forehead kind of like Kyurem.

^that would be amazing if true. That said, whatever it is i don't think it's a new form for Zygarde as it just looks too overwhelmingly different.

Why I'm convinced it's Zgarde. 1: The hexagons that light up. B: Look at that form's head. A Crown. A crown that looks similair to this
The solar panel thingies. Not to mention Zygarde looks like it's in a larval state. We'll probably know by tommorow, that's when the Hoopa movie releases iirc

I was just about to tell people to do that.... vote Mew, since its chances to become playable are minimum already anyway.
Imagine how cool would be to see Mew and Mewtwo teaming up! (of course, if Mewtwo be a playable character.... and honestly, with his Psychic/Fighter Mega evolution, it would be a HUGE missed opportunity if that doesn't happen).
And while you're at it, vote for Eevee too  I don't have nor want to have a Twitter account, so I can only ask :p
On a final note, I hope that seeing "overseas people" also twitting the characters they want in an Asiatic poll will help they realize that this game needs to travel overseas too, if they still have any doubt on that....

Yeah, letting Mewtwo skip Pokkén Tournament would be a huge mistake. He's a very iconic Pokémon, and he could fight very interestingly. I always imagined that Mewtwo would be a really fast, really powerful fighter with low HP. It's somewhat accurate to his mainstream self while still maintaining proper balance. Plus, like you said, Mega Mewtwo X is a perfect fit for Mewtwo's Super Attack.

I'm actually pretty sure that Eevee is already confirmed to be an Assist Pokémon. If I remember correctly, her Assist Pokémon partner is Frogadier. I believe Eevee boosts her fighter's power and recovers a bit of their health, and Frogadier throws a long-ranged disc of water that can damage opponents.

And, yes, seeing Mewtwo and Mew team up like that would be totally awesome! I wonder who Mew's Assist Pokémon partner would be and what their team dynamic would look like, though...

So, a guy on GameFAQs by the name of NR001 has come out with a new leak. Apparently, this guy played a part in the ESRB leak, but he was called Nicholas2222 back then. The original post and evidence and stuff can all be found here.

If you want the long and short of it...

--Nintendo apparently plays a limited role in the selection of DLC characters.
--Nintendo has short-listed 15-20 characters from the Ballot and given them to Namco's Smash team, and will presumably continue to do so through October, when the Ballot ends.
--This team consists of about 25 full-time members and several staff members who work on multiple projects at once.
--Takamaru, despite his status as an Assist Trophy, is being considered as DLC after Nintendo saw the West's reaction to him. This has also brought up questions about other Assist Trophies potentially being promoted to playable characters.
--Hyrule Warriors has been "discussed" at Namco.
--The short-listed characters that NR001 knows about are...
----Waluigi
----King K. Rool
----Paper Mario
----Chibi-Robo

Apparently, NR001's source wishes to remain anonymous, so he didn't provide a particular person. What do you guys think?

Personally, I'm remaining skeptical, but I do think that NR001's involvement in the ESRB leak boosts his credibility some. As for the characters, Waluigi would be awesome, Chibi-Robo and Takamaru would be pretty cool, and Paper Mario and King K. Rool could be interesting, at least in my opinion. I'm pretty pleased with the potential characters, assuming this leak is true. I know a lot of people don't like Waluigi, but, personally, I'd love to see him! He could a really strange, quirky character that represents the Mario spin-off games, or something along those lines.

They are considering an Assist Trophy? Then Lyn must happen, she needs to, HAS TO!!!! She needs to be a DLC too....
Damn, I will be so salt if this Taka─whoever get the promotion and princess Lyndis don't....
Anyway, very nice info to know if it's true.

Meh. Lucina is much higher quality waifu material:p.

Seriously, though, Lyn could be a pretty interesting character. She dual wields katanas, correct? I apologize if I'm wrong on that. I'm not really familiar with Fire Emblem. Anyway, even though I wouldn't mind seeing her, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Fire Emblem already has 5 reps, and, while I disagree with him here, Sakurai has said that a series's representation impacts a given character's position on the priority list. For that reason, I consider Lyn unlikely, but I still think it would be pretty cool to see a dual wielder in Smash, assuming I'm not misinformed there.

She doesn't dual wield sadly. She does have a sword and a bow though

Lyn...I want her, I like her, however, she's unneccesary in FE7, she brings NOTHING to the plot in Eliwood or Hector's story other than being there

I think the only place where she is seen with two swords is in her Awakening concept art.... in her original game she actually wields a single badass katana.... something that is actually missing in Smash Bros., a katata wielder.
And, if series representation has that much impact, why would they be even thinking of considering Paper Mario or Waluigi? :p

Anyway, here is our majesty if you're not familiar with:

Oh, my bad. I believe the Awakening concept art is what threw me off. Anyway, if we're talking about katana wielders, then Takamaru fits that bill perfectly, not to mention possessing a plethora of other options and representing a currently unrepped series.

About the series representation, I believe Sakurai meant relative to that series's popularity. Mario, for example, is extremely popular, and, therefore, that series get more reps. In any case, however, that's a good point. My apologies for overlooking that.

Personally, I just don't see what Lyn could bring to the cast that's either already there or something that somebody else, such as Takamaru, couldn't. That said, I'm not familiar with Fire Emblem, so I could be entirely wrong on that. I'm open to being corrected.
