Yeah, I kinda have fears that this will happen.

I mean, I don't really care about it as much if its a deal like: "I mained this guy in Melee; now, after so long, it'ss finally back, so I'll switch back to my original main. :D"

But I'd rather not see new blood go like "OMG MEWTWO; FORGET EVERYONE ELSE".

There's a lot of legit cases in between these two extremes-- don't get me wrong-- but I really don't want to see a lotta people who didn't have the intent before of wanting to play Mewtwo suddenly dropping who they'd otherwise main in favor of it once it releases.

As with a lot of hyped things, though, we'll see a crapton of it for a while, then it'll die down. In that initial hype-wave, though, I'm pretty sure Mewtwo will probably attain the lowest For Glory win-rate xD.


-Also, Sonic is personally my favorite game character of all time. My ties to him are far too strong for me to stop maining him.

No offense to anybody that has played Mewtwo in the past and then just dropped him because they thought he was s*** but I honestly think that Mewtwo should be a character used by the "true" Mewtwo mains, and not by people that just want to win.

I agree with you. I don't want to see that either. People have never shown much interest in him in the past and I'm afraid the same thing will happen and people will only just use him to win, or spam him because they can without actually caring about him.

Melee Mewtwo was the type of character you really needed to be dedicated to, not just play him then go "this character is crap! I'm never using it again."

Here in our scene there are people that seriously ONLY care about Melee and nothing else. They won't even touch Smash 4 or some haven't even played it which I find pretty pathetic. Don't get me wrong I love Melee but it's NOT the only thing to live for. -__-

This is why it's best that Mewtwo stays low tier.
He may be the most powerful Pokemon...but tbh, maybe that's why Sakurai made him bad in Melee. Only the most powerful players could show what he's made of.

Have you guys ever wondered how much WE contributed to Mewtwo's return? I can't imagine there being too many places online that has such a big Smash community, so if Nintendo were to look for opinions, they'd surely come here. We should all give ourselves a pat on the back because we kept talking about Mewtwo wayyyyyyyyy before the games were released. The only other community that surpassed us was the Ridley crowd but.. well we know how that ended. Point is, we more than likely helped with Mewtwo's return! 8 days!

Why are we all giving Mewtwo +att or -sp.att natures? Mewtwo's four moves are Teleport, Disable, Confusion, and Shadow Ball.
Two of those are special moves and the other two are status moves.

I'd imagine he makes it levitate, as with any other item.
But he's got to strike the pose, to...hm...maybe he'll strike the pose, and it levitates? Or maybe he'll just cross his arms because he doesn't conform to the rules of society.
