That's more like it Nintendo. The apology wasn't much, but this is actually relieving.

Right, that's why he dumbed down Galaxy and is saying that The Legend of Zelda series needs to be accessible for casuals.

Forgive me if I don't believe anything he's saying.

Miyamoto is the Father of Modern gaming for a reason. Listen carefully to his words, and learn to read between the lines.

There is much wisdom to be found.

My Internet has gone bonkers, and the Link won't work. Care to tell me what it is?

Well he may make great traditional hits but he has to go back on why they were so great....
Back in the day, they were great because he made them. He knew what made games fun, and worked with what he had at his disposal to make the finest games of the era. That's what's missing: Him. Now, all he is is a creative consult while other teams do the dirty work. He needs to get back in the directors chair and give actually being a game designer another spin.

Come on, Hayao Miyazaki is doing it, and he's even older than you, Shigeru. Give it another go, I'm sure you'll like it.

Miyamoto: 'Traditional games are what I am best at'

Though he splits his time now making both family-friendly and familiar hits, Nintendo mastermind Shigeru Miyamoto says he's better in making the latter.

"Making traditional games is what I am best at," said Miyamoto, in an interview with The Telegraph on Thursday. "Because games of that nature take upwards of two or three years to make, we always have to keep the teams working on those projects.

"They are all working on more Mario, Zelda and Pikmin projects," he reaffirmed, "and they all work in close proximity to me, so I can keep a good eye on them."

Additionally, Miyamoto admitted that traditional controllers (a design he invented) still have their place in video games, despite Nintendo's focus on motion-sensing. "What the Wii remote and motion control allows us to do is things we couldn't have done before. But of course there are also things that are accomplished better with buttons."

Miyamoto's remarks come at a time when many long-time gamers feel disenfranchised by Nintendo and their focus on uninitiated players, who prefer pick-up and play games as opposed to deep and epic ones like Zelda.

Miyamoto always gives us hope. He's got something very good for us in the works, I know it. I don't know when, but it will come, and I'll be there when it does. Might as well bide my time elsewhere 'til it happens, though.

I've kind of had it with this. Nintendo keeps coming out with all of these statements (funny thing, you notice it's after E3, which was when the majority of gamers began to get upset) about how they're sorry, they're best with traditional games, etc.

When I see this in action, I'll believe it. Actions speak louder than words, and so far their actions have gone against the words they're putting out. If they fix themselves up, great. But until I see this in action I'm not buying what they're saying.

I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm not necessarily denying that what he says could be true, all I'm saying is that we need to stop believing what they said because it "sounds" true. They've let us down pretty badly so far, so let's not swoon because Miyamoto said something we like, hm?

Traditional Gaming? You mean like using a "motion sensing controller" to shoot stars at enemies? Yeah...

I'll believe it when I see it.

I prefer playing some games with a dual analog, like Smash Bros., other 2D games, racing games.
I prefer motion controls for FPS, golf games and thinks that feel more natural swinging your arm or pointing.
I don't think motion controls are suited to games like Mario Galaxy, although Pikmin might be nice with the Wiimote.
I like Miyamoto more than most of the other people that speak for Nintendo.

Oh... Alrighty, then.

...I don't know, though, a sequel to Super Mario Galaxy sounds kind of... meh...
Why would it be meh? Mario Galaxy was a great game, so I wouldn't mind a sequel, as long as they add even more unique levels and power ups. And I bet they are making some kind of sequel to it. IGN asked about for a sequel, and he said, " Leave it to me". Sounds like he's making a sequel.

I don't think it would be bad if a Galaxy sequel came out, as long as the game is much harder. Seriously, Galaxy was way too easy.

Miyamoto's a good guy, and knows how to make awesome games for both hardcore and casual gamers. A bad thing is that people like Cammie are pushing hardcore gamers away from Nintendo, and with it Miyamoto's hardcore fans. They think he cares more about the casual gamers, which isn't true.

Giving people a crappy game for anyone to play, while making the hardcore crowd play a great game they've had for months is, in my opinion, not the way to go.

Just not the way.

the game im waiting to see him come up with is a good zelda for wii (other than twilight). Mario Galaxy was fun, but it was lost in space (no pun). Mario64 was fun, bacause it was challenging.

I think the reason nintendo is going more for the younger kids is because there are more of them. the Nintendo fans from the 64 are long-gone. Game Cube didn't do much. Wii is still promising, but if 2010-2011 comes and nothing good is out, then few people are going to buy their next system.

PLEASE Miyamoto, give us more good games.

To echo the previous posts, stop posting that stupid comic already, the fact that you posted it already makes it even worse.

Until I see a new DK platformer, Miyamoto, I'll be in my hiding bush. Pelting your house with peeled bananas.
