No, I've only taken over for Greg and Mr. Fish. I just figured that the last major arc villain (that being the main antagonist of Star vs. in this case) was probably responsible for what happened to Lucario and that he was simply trapped in the staff a second time.

Main reason was because IIRC, Lucario was freed after Isis was defeated and even helped Chaldea fight some of the invading Homeworld Gems afterwards. Since then he's been inactive, but for that same reason you could still retcon him having been freed previously if it doesn't fit with what you do have planned.
