-Ripley tells Newt to hang on as she and Hicks both try to follow her via an elevator, but find themselves having to fight another alien that tries to pry the door open. They're able to kill.it, but not without some of it's acidic blood burning through Hicks' chest armor and eventually wounding him-

-Ripley manages to get the armor off before he's seriously wounded, but the burns still weaken him, and he's only able to follow her for a few minutes longer. By the time they find Newt, they find her trapped in waters below a steep bar bridge. Newt can only reach her hand out to.hold Ripley's from here and vice-versa. and when Ripley and Hicks try to figure out how to get to Newt, an alien emerged from the water and grabs her, dragging her to the hive at the power station, much to Ripley and Hicks' horror-

This is one of the most dramatic parts of the movie...

-With Bishop having previously answered the group's call about progress on the dropship, as well giving them an ETA of 16 minutes, he arrives at the colony site only a few minutes later as Ripley drags the injured Hicks out. Bishop helps him aboard the ship, but is then surprised when Ripley informs him that they're not leaving yet. Quickly figuring out why, they try to talk to her, but Ripley insists that they're not leaving, saying that Newt is still alive and that she can still save her-

-It doesn't take them long to be convinced, as Bishop soon flies the dropship to overloading power station, which is still firing off thunderbolts and visibly overheating in the main room. Dramatic music plays the dropship steadily flies to it, the whole scene looking like a crew entering a supervillain's evil lair-

-Hicks reassures her that he won't be going anywhere, and before she leaves and addresses him with a temporary farewell, Hicks reveals his first name to her: Dwayne. Ripley returns the sentiment by revealing her own first name as Ellen, and the two smile at each other as Hicks tells her "Don't be gone long, Ellen", confident that she'll succeed in rescuing Newt and return safely-

She has to walk around some coccoons and webbing that the aliens left behind, along with an overheating pipe that's literally turned red hot. She occasionally fires off the flamethrower before walking down a pathway, trying to ensure that there's no aliens nearby and injuring them without wasting ammo if there are-

-It takes her a few minutes to reach the floor that the locator device's signal is coming from, and soon after she does, a hand suddenly reaches at her from a wall. Ripley is startled at first, but soon sees that the hand doesn't belong to one of the alien, but to Burke, who's cocooned up to a wall, still alive-

With how brutal and slow of a death by the emergence of the infant aliens is, Ripley simply hands him a spare grenade, allowing himself to die a merciful death on his own terms-

-While one would think he'd curse her out or feel defeat, Burke actually accepts it somewhat gracefully, and actually shows one final act of decency, even with how much of a scumbag as he is. H e tearfully apologizes to Ripley by name for everything he's done, before swiftly arming the grenade after she leaves. It detonates a few seconds later, and the sound and smoke from the explosion can be heard and seen a few seconds later as Ripley calmly continues traversing the bottom floor of the power station, just as she's about to reach the source of the signal on the tracking device-

-Ripley then finds the locater wristwatch device on the ground, with Newt nowhere in sight. Fearing the worst, Ripley just holds it closely while tearing up, clearly convinced that Newt has already been killed. A few seconds later, however, the camera cuts to another room to show that Newt is still alive, and waking up, trapped by some webbing but otherwise unharrmed. Unaware if Ripley is even nearby or not, the girl's first instinct is to call Ripley for help. Upon hearing Newt, Ripley immediately snaps out of her grief and rushes to go find her, following the sound of her shouts-

-A few seconds later, however...the scene cuts back to show a facehugger egg hatching in front of where Newt is trapped. As the newly hatched Facehugger slowly starts crawling out of, calls for help quickly turn into screams of terror-
