I've heard of polyphonic overtones before but I've never listened to someone who can do it so well. I can hit two notes at once but it takes so much effort and I can't control it very well. On a related note, I can whistle while creating a vibration in my throat so that it makes a strange mixture of sound.

I had a mic to use but it was attached to my headset. It was a pair of Tritton Kunai. Warning: don't buy that product because the headband part is mainly plastic and it doesn't withstand the expansion around a person's cranial area.

Just whistle and "hum" at the same time to produce the effect. It really isn't that difficult.

Edit: I suppose it comes naturally to me because I can play the trumpet.

I can do this too. I've never heard of the trumpet association before though (though i also play trumpet...)

I cant consistently control the pitch of both the hum and the whistle independently though

That page of Kahnu, SSJ Kirby, and Paradoxium talking to each other has to be one of the worst pages in the social thread.

Although to be fair most of the candidates for that probably come from the past several months.

We had some really good ones while you were gone, nerd.

I agree with you, though. This last page was low level

HELL NO, Do you know what sleep paralyses is?! That s*** is f***ing scary!!! And I'm not a brave kid, I'll have night mares if I ever get sleep paralyses and never go to sleep ever again
I have episodes of sleep paralysis quite frequently, it was terrifying at first, but you end up getting used to it and then the lucid dreaming that comes after is nearly addicting. Worth it in my opinion especially considering you can take nyquil or get drunk to just power through the troubles of getting to sleep.

I can't control the independent pitches either. I tried the polyphonic trick while on my way to school today but to no avail. Strange whistling = successful. Advanced singing technique = 3difficult5me

Its a living nightmare, you can't move and you begin to hallucinate horrifying things so vividly that you're convinced its real. None of it is real, but you still experience it so heavily that they're almost traumatic memories (for some weak minded people they are traumatic and they believe the events are indeed real and they are the crazy people you hear about who were abducted by aliens or possessed by demons, etc. which is all in their imagination) Some examples of experiences I've had were suffocation, being *****, executed, haunted by ghosts, being in a plane crash, drowned, shot in the face, and many others. That was all in the first couple months, I've been able to control it for years now and don't really have much terror anymore, now it just feels like people/ghosts are pulling me from my bed as a jackhammer drills through my skull and I can't breathe. It lasts for less than a minute and then I begin to feel like I'm flying through this vortex in the sky on my way to whatever lucid paradise I wish to experience. The real question is whether the pleasure is worth the pain? I believe it is and I almost look forward to sleep paralysis episodes now just for the lucid dreaming that comes after since the episodes are no longer as terrifying as they were when I first experienced them unexpectedly. Its what feels like a minute of the most terrifying thing you can imagine for what feels like days/weeks/months of the most pleasurable and indescribable thing you can imagine. There isn't a happier place in the universe than a lucid dream. The easiest way for me to induce one is to get really overtired, usually done by drinking and staying up really late, then passing out for a few hours, waking up, and staying up really late the next day while hungover.

i've been under the impression that one can happen without the other
Probably. I've managed to significantly reduce the pain while increasing the pleasure and I imagine some people are able to have lucid dreaming without sleep paralysis and vice versa. I never went out seeking lucid dreaming though. Sleep paralysis just started happening out of nowhere, I went to see my school psychologist, she said I can turn it around into lucid dreaming and so I did. When life hands you lemons you make beef stew.

Rereading my posts, I can't believe I actually shared that. I've only ever told 2 human beings details about my sleep paralysis before.

We have all gotten over who you are a long time ago. Nobody cares if you're sangoku, madao, the abominable snowman, or a basement virgin. You're kahnu, whatever that may mean.

Theres different degrees to it. It can be rare and mild or chronic and severe or anything in between. Some people will never experience anything like it. My first episode was when I was 20 years old when I was staying at college for the summer and really screwed up my sleeping patterns by drinking everyday and not going to bed and was very overtired. I stayed up the next 2 days not sleeping in fear it would happen again. The night it happened was the night the Celtics blew a double digit lead in the 4th quarter of Game 7 of the NBA championship to the Lakers.

This happened to me when I was about 7. I really loved Pokemon so I hallucinated ET and Mew were teleporting under my bed and all over the room, and when I'd try to touch them, they would teleport.

I'd have these alot, but none were that special because I just couldn't yell or move.

Then again about a year ago. I got run over by a truck.

**** sucks man.
