I age, but Kaillera doesn't. I'm eighteen now. Nineteen in a little more than a week. Kaillera's average user age has remained approximately 15 throughout the years. Perhaps I should move on too.

Think; what if you spent all the time you spent on Kaillera learning the piano instead? A lot of people would say you're pretty damn good. Learning any new skill, even. Focusing on going where you want to go. Starting a new venture... yet you still stay on.

I'm a victim too, that much I'll admit. Perhaps it's time I left and let this whole big episode slowly fade into the ghosts of the past. Perhaps it's time you did as well.

LOL. i really enjoyed reading these last few pages. battlecow are you serious about your college essays?

if soo, give me an example of what one was about. im curious as to how you pulled that one off.
Well, in a broad sense, it was about, like, the nature of competition and the role that that's played in my life. But 99% of it was just me talking about smash.

It's a really good essay, I'm pretty proud of it.

Also I love dock's posts. YO DOCK, THEY'RE TALKING **** ABOUT YOU AND MACROS OVER IN THE NA ONLINE TIER LIST THREAD.

Also, dock, you're accepting the Man's view of video games as a waste of time. In reality, being truly skilled at anything is a lost art in today's world, and nine out of ten people go to their daily grind every day and live their entire life without actually investing the time and effort to learn any sort of craft at all. Such a life is meaningless, and real, dedicated competition is a state far preferable to mediocrity. Who's more pathetic- Joe Normal, who got a mediocre 9-5 job, a wife who he kind of loved, and two kids who he could raise to be as normal as him, or Isai, who understands the beauty and complexity of SSB on a level deeper than the level on which Joe will ever understand anything?

Smash is my creative outlet anyway, completely fine with the time it takes up in my life. No reasons why you can't learn both an instrument/smash anyway - ask aa =D

Besides, I play sport, do aths, attend uni, get uni work done, socialise and generally have a coolm life. What makes it coolmer is playing smash and other videogames with people I like - if that's being a 'victim' I am A-OK with that.

It certainly isn't pathetic at all to do what you love doing. I do not see video gaming as a waste of time. But what when you no longer love what you loved doing? The answer is: you move on. I need to find some other place/passion to direct my spare-time creative energy.

I am extremely against self-satisfaction, by the way; that's not the life I'm going to live.

Sure, that makes sense. But you didn't say anything about not loving the game anymore in your original post, you just implied that you'd wasted a bunch of your life on it.

Not sure what you mean about self-satisfaction.

Dock, sometimes I think how your thinking now. Not necessarily the exact way you are, but similar. I think- in the long run is smash really ganna matter? wouldn't it be much more intelligent to focus my time on a more productive skill? When I'm 35, I'm not ganna be playing smash. So why waste soo many hours doing it now. Than i think who cares what happens when I'm 35 right? I love the game at this point in my life so what else matters. And I think looking back when I'm 35 I'm not going to regret spending so much time playing. I think I'll regret not playing enough, because smash is what makes me happy.

Than again, you said you were starting to loose love for the game so this post is kinda useless, oh well.

Btw, I play piano along with several other instrements lol.

A more productive skill for you to learn, Kero, is how to use a computer ;)

When I'm 35 I'm going to be a seedy old dad dressing up my daughter as Suwako and parading her around in public.

Why is learning an instrument more "productive" than smash? Does it give you more happiness? Will mastering it satisfy you in a way that mastering smash won't? What's the advantage?

Surri re word that last question, I'm sure I could answer it.

The only card game I know with "ultra rare"s is yugioh.

Maybe I know the pokemon your talking about by a different name.

At what Ratio do you get URs from a booster pack in pokemons. I think it was Neo Destiny set that introduced "Ultra rare" pokemon, they have three stars in the corner as apposed to the normal single star.

DBZ CCG also has URs, they are at a ratio of 1:432 packs.

Why is mastering smash any more 'productive' than mastering stealing and getting into fights?
It isn't, necessarily. But for a lot of people, stealing and getting into fights->crime that doesn't bring them much money or happiness->jailtime->misery while smash->incredibly stimulating competition->happiness.

some psychology theories believe that musical ability is a criteria of intelligence perhaps?
And smash skill isn't a criteria of intelligence?

suprisingly no...

thankfully, they're considering adding in another criteria - asking yourself 'the big questions'. does god exist and what have you. yup. what a valid theory...

gee, thanks smashboards, i came here to give myself a break from psychology and end up discussing psychology. really my own fault though bleargh

Ohh, your talking about shining pokemon. I don't know the exact ratio that they come, but they're extremely rare. I've had to trade for all mine.

Shinys, the new version of shinings, are a bit more common. However, extremely rare none the less.

that seems way too rare. in MTG there are mythic rares witch are in 1 out of 8 packs. they are about twice as rare.

also did anyone ever play pokemon tcg. it always seemed like ppl just got the cards and put them in there binder, and talked about how they were gonna sell them for a lot of money one day.

Score themselves (The producers of DBZ CCG) stated that the rarity of URs in DBZ is one per case, which is 12 boxes, or one per 432 packs.

DBZ URs are very rare, much more so then mystic rares from MTG lol.

And I was talking about the shining pokemon, i have a celebi like that.
