Also DAMN making these things takes forever ... even though I fast forwarded through all my videos it took hours to find the footage. I don't even want to know how much time it takes when you factor in the sick editing a lot of people do for these.

IDK why I've been playing so few games lately. HOMMIII is the most addicting game ever, I spend too much time on it :/

HOMM 3 is so good. Have you played Wake of Gods? It's basically like a 3rd expansion.

HOMM 5 is good too. It includes a lot of improvements in some ways, but it also seems to lack something that made HOMM 3 so great. Still fun though.

I never played any of the others.

I grew up with HOMM3 - in fact, it was the first game I ever played - so I have that nostalgia bias. I doubt any other HOMM game would top it for me.

I did try the Wake of Gods expansion, but idk, I had mixed feelings about it. The only other game I played was 4, which was really bleh. I heard 5, along with 4, are considered like the Brawl of the Heroes series by the long-time fans.

I should try II though, I've heard nothing but good things about it. But III will always have a special place in my heart.

It's interesting that you heard that about 5. I've definitely heard mixed feelings about 4, but I remember hearing that they were designing 5 with 3 in mind.

Fire Emblem. "Rekka No Ken" if you want me to be a weeaboo about it. Sacred Stones and Fuin no Tsurugi are okay too, and Sacred Contention is too legit.

"Trap characters" is the technical term, I believe. So Marcus, Seth, probably even Wallace. They're generally leveled at 10, so they're essentially 10 levels behind other characters when they 20 out.

I like lords-only runs.

heh i once did a caster-only run in sacred stones
hard as **** for some parts
caster being defined as any character who uses light/dark/anime/staves
(the rule starts as soon as you get Lute on that one level)


The first time I ever played through sacred stones I was like 8 or something, didnt figure out until halfway thru game that you could PICK which characters to use before the fight, i thought the 8ish that had lit white names were set in stone

Seth actually has really decent growths from what I remember, on par with the knights who come with Ephraim.

A while back I tried a Gilliam-solo run on Hard mode, it was freaking impossible and JOSHUA out of all people kept killing him. I just cbf and raged through the game, not caring who died.

On the plus side I got Ross to 10/20/14 by the final battle without trying, and Berserkers are broken.
