The director of Arms personally asked for Min Min. It wasn't for promotional purposes like SwSh would have to be.
And you forget that Nintendo chose the DLC.

Well, it hasn't really though. They're still actively promoting its DLC. We just had a presentation about it last week. And to play the DLC, you need the title. So they are still pushing the game, just not the base part of it so much.
I, uh, think this might be bleeding into your objectivity a bit.

Yeah, regardless how anyone feels about SwSd or its quality, it's still one of the best selling Switch games, and in its series period. The fact that Gen 8 will most likely still be going by the end of Ultimate's DLC cycle, be it Sinnoh remakes or another Gen 8 game entirely, just seems like it's too obvious.
I just want to zero in on this because it feels like it has no real agreed apon meaning. Anyone can say "Nintendo chooses the DLC" to justify anything they want or use it to hand wave any suggestion they don't like. It means nothing. Because Nintendo can choose anyone for any reason. Nintendo chose Byleth, but Nintendo also chose Joker, and Hero, and Terry, and BANJO! Who knows why they pick who they do. It guarantees nothing and means nothing.
Maybe. But I still just don't think anyone from SwSh would be very interesting. Every character should be a "WOAH COOL!" choice. Not a "yeah, makes sense" pick the way a Gen 8 Pokemon would be. Not to mention one particular Gen 8 Pokemon is very triggering for me and I'd rather not see their face every time I boot up Smash.

If this were any other character, I'd agree.
You know not everyone is enthralled with every character currently on the roster, though. I would say most people have at least a couple characters on the roster they don't feel strongly about one way or another, if not dislike. So... not only is it a matter of personal taste, but it wouldn't really even be anything new. Especially with promotion-based characters.
I guess you've bought the pass, because otherwise I'd remind you that you don't have to buy every character.

I've known about Kinnikuman for a while. Don't remember how I found out about it though.
I mean, there are a handful of Pokemon in gen 8 that I would love. But I doubt they'll add Gossifleur or Hatterene or Boltund or Alcremie. So....

Hey, you can hope for whatever you want, and truly it's a shame and a hardship that you experience those feelings, but you do have to square with the possibility it happens. So, if it's as grave as you're leading me to believe, best make a contingency in case it becomes a reality. That'd be my advice. Because simply hoping won't prevent it, so you may want to get ahead of it.
