I honestly don’t know what “salt” would be produced by in terms of the mini-Direct myself. Like, yeah, a Mii Fighter Costume of Sephiroth would make me reflect and be like, “Sephiroth would be sick”, but also, “Cool! A Sephiroth Mii Costume!”

I mainly am curious to see if we only get Square Enix Mii Fighter costumes myself.

Not gonna lie, the idea of a Sora Mii Costume filling in the big shoes – especially with Disney's involvement – would be a huge waste of resources considering how:

A. That would piss off tons of fans who wanted the real deal to be playable

B. Disney manages to be far worse with licenses* than Square Enix and Microsoft (pre-Nintendo alliance) combined.

*Note = Bear in mind, with how big Smash is, Disney would want to rake in as much profit as possible as opposed to their comparatively-minimal involvement with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

That is to say, it would be a golden opportunity to exploit Smash's advertising campaign somewhat to make some change from the rights to Sora while DLC sales become something extra since DLC doesn't exactly "sell" as well as the base game does.

To correct myself, Fatmanonice has said "Extremely unpopular". So it could mean a million things.

Honestly, random magic mechanic would probably be unpopular...

Could be for competitive players, but I can’t imagine it mattering that much to the average player. Other characters have had random elements like G&W, Peach, Etc. It’s not ideal for a serious competitive character but I can’t see people being too broken up over that.

There’s not much to go on other than one person’s vague opinion on something we are hearing about secondhand.
