Because ATLUS has to be unique about everything.

That, and the main characters in P5 aren't warriors as much as they are thieves.

In terms for Warriors games, uh...
Pokemon could definitely work
Sonic maybe, not Ninty though
Final Fantasy can work as well, but also not Ninty.
Mario Warriors can work, but idk if the Warriors format would work with Mario. They have the characters though.
Golden Sun can work, but it may need some more characters.
Xenoblade could pull if off, and if they were up ti it, they can incorporate characters from other Xeno games and make XenoWarriors or something

I really hate how Metroid is locked into a specific genre. Federation Force may not have been good, but the franchise needs some fresh games for the brand.

I'm baffled that we haven't had a true Halo-style fps in the Metroid universe. It could even still have Samus.

My galaxy brain wish for the franchise, though, is a Hyper Light Drifter style game. Top down, melee attacks and twin stick shooter mechanics. An atmospheric delight with a vibrant world and soundtrack.

Edit: We need more of the classic style btw, but Metroid imo is the Nintendo franchise with the most room for fresh ideas.

Hyrule Warriors was pretty damn good if you wanted references galore (unless you like the Capcom games, in which case RIP) and decent fun for a while but I couldn't see myself getting another Musou game anytime soon unless I really, really cared about the source material

That said, a Mushroom Kingdom Warriors or Pokemon Warriors could work - I love Pikmin too, but that's got too limited a cast to work

It's even more baffling how Nintendo hasn't gone to greater lengths to cash in on the franchise in general. A sci-fi shooting game with monsters and aliens has all the potential to become a massive success in NA and EU.

Y'all are thinking too small-brained when things like Captain Rainbow encompassed a ton of "forgotten" series and still managed to fill in its own stuff.

I could easily see multiple "similar enough" series being used with one encompassing theme in a Warriors setting (not to "EVERYONE IS HERE" extent, but stuff like SF/F-Zero (maybe Metroid too) along with random series like X or even Pikmin/Kirby for how out of place they would be.

I honestly don’t feel the need to give up.

Things are pretty much unclear regarding the last two fighters, so anyone could happen unless Sakurai starts denying some picks.

And honestly, I find that fun.
