...pretty sure it’s nothing like that. Pretty sure people are just saying that posting a cryptic teaser in a public forum then insulting people for asking what’s going on is a bit of a **** move.

Like, people do that ALL the time in this thread. Post something sad/cryptic/inflammatory in hopes that someone will ask them what’s going on and they can start a conversation. This didn’t seem any different than those other dozens on times, but then people are getting chewed out for it. That’s all.

High ranking e celebs are practically untouchable. I could count so many people who have done wrong with no consequences, Logan Paul, pewdpie, jake Paul. That’s off the top of my head with plenty more. Although the better example is that of the Jew Wario case if your familiar with him.

A known sexual abuser to women among channel awesome staff, but he was so liked and seemed so nice that no one spoke out against him and covered it up. It wasn’t until a year after he killed himself the truth was known.

Sadly ally is likely staying because the people behind the comp smash team don’t give a ****, and there’s nothing we can do. Hell most of his fans likely won’t care or believe it. It’s an uphill battle

Again, it WAS deflected whether intentional or not. A common thing about this tactic is that you make it look normal. Did climate change deniers say they were climate change deniers when Bill Nye did that skit on Last Week Tonight a while ago? No, they said they didn't feel inclined to listen for not being nice enough. Did neonazis admit they're neonazis when people use strong language while arguing their points? No, they did the same thing, deflect and use the ways it was said to discredit it. That's how it spreads, because it seems normal to do that so others do it

This is precisely why if you know something is an inappropriate topic for discussion in a certain place, you don't even reference it..that's almost literally asking for a conversation to spark from it because a TON of people are going to have absolutely no idea what you're talking about (and no, you should not expect people to google it when simply asking is a much easier way to get an answer since you can never be sure that what you find in a search is what is being discussed).

Also, yeah, don't be a jerk, especially if you brought up the subject in the first place.

No, its not..because, rude as he was, Opo was exactly right..that subject matter is inappropriate to discuss on these forums and would most definitely lead to Moderators editing comments, issuing warnings, or locking the thread.
Also 'alleged' no one is guilty until proven to be and since I do not know the situation nor the people involved, I am not going to cast a vote/throw stones/whatever because, for all we know, he could be innocent. False allegations are definitely a thing in this world and blindly believing an accusation is not the right course of action.
Like I said though, I don't know these people, I don't follow Smash, or any game, competitively, nor do I particularly care because it is literally none of my business and I do not plan to make it so, I have my own hardships and worries to deal with. Sorry if that sounds cold or 'deflecting', but I'm going to focus on the issue I can actually see the full picture of, Opo bringing up something he straight up said had no place for discussion here and than being rude about it when asked what he was talking about.

That's not just a tactic used by the AltRight, its a tactic used by humans in general, Left, Right, and Center.
Beyond that..lets not use terms like 'AltRight' or the like..I REALLY don't see this board start to erupt into some sort of Political Arguing..this isn't frickin' Twitter.

In addition, even if you disagree with someone, that doesn’t justify hostility and insults. I’ll be monitoring this to this best of my ability.
