In terms of cut stages, Jungle Hyjinx is another omission that I'm pretty sad with. I felt it was a nice homage to Retro's take on the series and the gimmick it chose was one of their most notable ones from those games, but sadly that same gimmick was likely what made it too hard to bring back.

If you had my opinion, 64 and Melee has more simplistic stages, with majority of their stages being centralized with one or two gimmicks. Brawl upped it, with new hardware and more years allowing for more dynamic stages, which allowed for one central gimmick to branch off into many forms and the such. Smash 4 did the same, but for a good chunk of the stages, they went WAY overboard. Ult then returned to the more simplistic design that 64 and Melee had.
To be fair to the 3DS version, their stages tended to be more laidback then its counterpart. Aside from Wily's Castle and Magicant, most of the stages had pretty straightforward gimmicks that were either not too intrusive (Arena Ferox, Prism Tower), easy to avoid (Tortimer Island), or had a clear tell for when the gimmick was going to happen (Reset Bomb Forest). You could play on most of them and not feel like you were fighting the stage, which was more akin to Brawl's direction then the Wii U's.

The Wii U version admittedly is where it went a little crazy. Stages like the aforementioned Wily's Castle, Pyrosphere, and Kalos Pokémon League had gimmicks that once they happened, they overtook the stage and there was little leeway in getting around them. It made it more a case of fighting to stay alive then fighting your friends, and that hurt how much fun those stages could've been without them.

Kalos would legit be great if it wasn't for Registeel appearing in the Ironworks Chamber. Like, the stage has easy to avoid, telegraphed gimmicks, which then Registell just throws it out of the window.

Then again, Paper Mario was a very intrusive stage bar the second part of three at best. The constant wind in the first part was a lot worse than Dream Land 64, and the third part was near impossible to fight on. That was honestly a fairly poor stage. It was a neat idea, but didn't work well in concept.

I mean, I wanted a Bowser's Castle too, but not like that. I'd rather just have an alternate skin of Peach's Castle at that point than a poorly designed part of a stage. But hey, at least the second part of Paper Mario was the closest to Pirate Ship as we can get. Also, Super Mario Maker and stuff like PictoChat 2 can become near impossible to fight on as well. A lot of the times the gimmicks separate the fighters too much, even on the 3DS version.

Who’s ready for Erdrick to release during server maintenance just like joker.
If it's tomorrow and they're doing the same thing they did for joker, that would mean a video in around six hours or so. I don't think its likely but I didn't expect Joker to get dropped on that day either, so who knows.

I've been ready for Solo and Eight to release for a while now.

Though I just more want to know how the MP mechanic works as is. That'll be the dealbreaker for me.

Yeah I hope it’s balanced well. If it becomes way to much of a hassle to use the spells or it’s charge is that balanced then it won’t be too fun to play as them.
I'm more curious how Japan is going to experience it considering how huge Dragon Quest is over there.
I imagine if server maintenance kept them waiting during the release they would be pretty upset

So what do you guys think. Do you guys think among the last two DLC fighters will be Nintendo characters or 3rd party like the rest? Leaning towards the latter tbh at this point.

I'M READY NINTENDO

If they do another Joker style video where they explain everything in the new patch I'll be very happy. It feels really early for Hero to come out but if they really were in development at the same time as Joker then it makes sense that they came out much quicker. Fingers crossed I guess.

I’m still in Three Houses limbo tbh

Don’t know if I want it or not
If you're not down for the turn-based strategy then pass obviously, but if you're even slightly interested I recommend you check out the stuff the treehouse showed at E3.

Gameplay seems great in terms of the actual fights (you have more control over your units and army compared to the 3DS titles) but it's the plot and character stuff that are really getting me excited. The new features (the calendar system in particular) seem perfect to better develop the relationships you have with the characters and manage how you interact with them. From what we've seen all character lines are voiced which is another big benefit.

Leaks that are all but confirmed at this point hint that the plot is gonna be dealing with pretty heavy stuff that doesn't go too into the realm of ridiculousness that Fates did. The main lords are all genuinely interesting on first glance, and they seem to have a lot more depth under the surface. The side characters all seem pretty great as well, I actually like every design so far.

also you can ship people if that's your thing

Fates had a lot of issues, to the point where I couldn't even finish Birthright due to how annoyed I was at them. Three Houses isn't only fixing a lot of those issues, but adding things I didn't even know I wanted. The Persona style Calendar works SO well for this game and I never would've considered it before.

Well, Pokemon is my favorite series so I’m obviously down with turned based stuff. And I love a good story, but I dunno...

So not sure if confirmed but had we ever found out who was Brave? Because:ultbanjokazooie:and:ulthero:easily fitted the name both.
:ulthero:

His name in Japan translates to brave

And literally every video game hero is brave in some way, so Banjo doesn’t get special treatment here.

He just gets special treatment in my heart
