Pac-Land doesn't require a 3DS gimmick and developers aren't petty. It's not that hard.

Also, unpopular opinion but I rather enjoy Pac-Land, it has a cute aesthetic.
I never found Pac-Maze very fun either. It's cool enough in multiplayer, but it's just an oddly shaped stage that makes KOs take forever, especially in Classic. I avoid it now because it's an annoying stage for me to fight on.

I honestly wish Pac-Land was in the 3DS version. Short and sweet. It doesn't have a neat gimmick, but stages don't need that to be good. Sometimes it's better to be simple than going overboard.

At least if we get a second Namco rep in the pass we’ll get a cooler looking Namco stage

and here’s why it will be Second Miltia with KOS-MOS in the following essay...

I forgot, what 3DS gimmick did Pac-Land use? The 3D?

Anyway, fair enough if that was the case. I wouldn't call it petty to want the more iconic setting for Pac-Man in the game, but Ultimate had a short development span as it is, so building from scratch definitely isn't feasible.

Pac-Maze and Rainbow Road will forever be the two biggest losses.

Two of the most iconic locations in all of video games, just gone.

I have something better:

Mario Kart X Sonic Racing X Crash Team Racing X Diddy Kong Racing

I do enjoy Pac-Land too.

The fact they actually implemented the whole arcade game into a single stage is cool.

And I like the day-evening-night cycle.
Hmmm. The question is... Sonic & All-Stars Racing or Team Sonic Racing?

I miss Sector Z and Melee's Mute City. The former was much wider and larger than Corneria which made it fun for FFAs. GCN Mute City is genuinely a solid stage.

Ironically I don’t care so much about another F-Zero stage as I do a wider selection of music

Ffs we need more GX bangers like Feel Our Pain (Fire Field), Paper Engine (Outer Space), 8 Guitars (Sand Ocean), and THE HECKIN PILOT THEMES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THIS

We still need an official release for High Stakes In Mute City.

The only thing close to that right now is a fan recreation:

Its surprising that rainbow road was taken out. Did not feel like its time yet.
I believe they cut every stage from the series that used directly ported assets from other games. Mute City Melee took directly from F-Zero X, Poke Floats from Pokemon Stadium, and Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 7. I guess there may have been something in the process of creating them that meant they would really have to create a ton of new assets or something and Sakurai decided against it. It's a shame because I really like all three of those stages, but again, the game launched with 103... soo...

That said, Pac-Man is one of my favorite gaming icons of all time and if we get any additional DLC outside of the Fighter's Pass that isn't character related, I desperately hope it's Pac-Maze because I do miss that stage and while I like Pac-Land, it's battlefield form is one of the ugliest looking ones in the game. The regular stage is at least ideal for certain moods, but they didn't do anything fun with the Battlefield and Omega forms.

As for additional DLC, I think it'd make sense to see Home Run Contest, Boss Battles, and some form of Target Smash come back if we're operating under the assumption that each new major update also brings a new mode. Those are probably the easiest/most iconic modes that are also really easy to make. Maybe even a Master Hand Mob Smash mode like World of Light has at the very end. Anything else or more substantial would probably be paid DLC. Smash Run almost definitely is not coming back, but if Sakurai found the time, I'd pay for a solid $20 re-worked and online Smash Run for Ultimate.

Big Blue also recycled models from F-Zero X. I just assumed that Mute City and Rainbow Road didn't come back because we still got stages from their respective series that tour around a racetrack.

The main stage I'm missing right now is Orbital Gate Assault, but yeah, development kind of killed that one.

On one hand, Pac-maze was prety cool, and Pac-man was one of the first gaming icons alongside Link whom I was introduced to as a kid, so yeah, I can totally agree that it's a shame that it's gone.

On the other hand, I never really played it that much whenever I booted up Smash 3DS. Most oy my online friend battles were done on more simplistic stages, I never did free for all NPC battles with it, and I didn't end up playing it online For Fun that much either...kind of a consequence of not playing For Fun much to begin with (it was plagued with too many taunt parties ala Brawl's online). Shame, it's a great stage, I just hardly ever played it, so I guess the removal of it didn't bother me all that much on a personal level.

Pirate Ship (a stage based around Wind Waker, which is my favorite game ever) is still around, though, and I also finally got Fountain of Dreams and Great Bay back and in glorious HD, so I'm plenty satisfied as far as stages go lol.

So, why exactly is the Nintendo Gamecube abbreviated as GCN anyway? Shouldn't it be NGC?
Not a clue, but I probably won't change up my use of the abbreviation any time soon. I'm too used to saying GCN after Mario Kart Wii used that abbreviation to identify all of it's returning tracks from Double Dash.

If you had my opinion, 64 and Melee has more simplistic stages, with majority of their stages being centralized with one or two gimmicks. Brawl upped it, with new hardware and more years allowing for more dynamic stages, which allowed for one central gimmick to branch off into many forms and the such. Smash 4 did the same, but for a good chunk of the stages, they went WAY overboard. Ult then returned to the more simplistic design that 64 and Melee had.

So yesterday I was hanging out with my best friend and she was talking about astralology(or whatever it’s called) and how like all those signs relate to personalities and what not and how each sign is compatible with another.

So I decided to say why not and check it out myself and we were looking at the stuff for my signs and all that. We both had they same main sign which explains why we get along so well and all the other descriptions were almost completely spot on with my personality.

It was so weird but it’s pretty interesting how that all works

Okay. I’m playing the CTR remake and nothing is more frustrating than how difficult the time trials are for first timers. There is a ghost that races at the same time as you when you do them and it does things that I just... I don’t even know how to do that with my controller. And you have to do it on every track to unlock N. Tropy. The only thing more frustrating is going on Crash forums to vent and to just git gud and “it’s not that hard” by people who have been playing since the 90s.

In one case, I think a new stage is TOO simple. Dracula's Castle should have more interaction with the monsters, it's not like that stage would ever be used in tournaments anyway.

I heard speculation about National Geographic Channel trademarking NGC, but I've also heard about GCN making it so the Neo Geo Console (Color) wouldn't be confused for it. Either way, Nintendo has simply said they just prefer it as an official acronym, so not sure about those reasons.

I admit I was surprised that the Castlevania monsters don't interact with the stage at all, considering that Castlevania is noted for it's difficulty, but then again, I feel like having such a large variety monsters attacking players might get annoying after some time, especially if they're 1:1 with their actual games.

But I think the Dracula boss makes up for it.

It’s kinda understandable, the first few days after Hero and Banjo were hype and then... radio silence

When’s that investor meeting or whatever tho?
Fair enough. I just wish more people were here so we can talk about lot of stuff whether things in our lives, our interests and such besides Smash.
