Cut-Man as Megaman?
Guts-Man as Megaman?
Not really the kind of thing I was going for.

Like, if you look at the other cannon mega men it's
  • Mega Man but serious
  • What if Zero was Mega Man
  • What if Mega Man was like the Venom Symbiote
  • What if Mega Man was an archeologist in the post-apocalypse
  • What if Mega Man was a Digimon
  • What if Mega Man was a weird alien cat made of radio waves.
  • What if Mega Man was a fat dude in the world of Street Fighter
  • What if Mega Man was a generic white robot with fur
  • What if Mega Man was evil
  • What if Mega Man was green and annoying and smoked 15 packs a day
  • What if Mega Man was... slightly different (Fully Charged)
  • What if Keiji Inafune lost the IP rights to Mega Man and crowdfunded millions of dollars just to slap together a glitchy mess.
And too that end the other ideas I had was like
  • What if Roll was Mega Man
  • What if Mega Man was the terminator
  • What if Mega Man and his friends were power rangers
  • What if Mega Man was in the steampunk era
  • What if Mega Man was an American style superhero.
Like, I'm open to "What if X-Character was Mega Man. But I would like it to only be plot important characters like Roll and Zero and not the Robot Masters/Mavericks of the Week

Wow, for once my mom isn't a paranoid wreck with the potential danger to the island, she's the one laughing at other people are being nervous wrecks at the potential danger to the island because they are overreacting to a storm.

Nothing about the upcoming storm implies that it has the same power as a hurricane, at most well probably just have a blackout.

Do you guys still think the Mario Anniversary Collection is even a thing or no?
Honestly, it sounds like one of those things people really want to be true even though it doesn't sound like something Nintendo would do to me. From my understanding it has credible insiders backing it up, but even they aren't infalliable.

I'm not saying it can't happen, but I am really suspicious of it.

I fully bet it’s real and we see it August 1st. Nintendo has lined up every bit of Mario Merch for that day. The Mario board games go live, the LEGO sets come out the , the NES also releases then, and we potentially have the gaming chairs going live then. I would be shocked if the collection is not announced then when it’s basically Mario day.
Is Miyamoto even involved with Mario anymore? He didn't even produce or do much with Odyssey iirc.
I believe so, it’s kinda of implied that he is why Origami king likely cut back on things from previous games since if memory serves he’s also why sticker star got skinned clean of everything.

Looks like they had enough of being neglected and not getting modern representation as well a new rep since Brawl.

Dedede: "This has gone far too long! When is our friend Dee joining Smash!? And we haven't gotten a new rep since Brawl..."
Kirby: "Poyo..." ("I want him as well... Also, please give us more representation from the modern games.")
Meta: "...I'm just going to ignore this."

That interview was morseso on why Sticker Star (and Color Splash since it was the direct follow up) was the way it was, but yeah I can see that.

Origami King was mistly a result of Tanabe adopting Miyamoto's thinking of trying something new, but I don't think he was involved with the game (he would have lost it at the very first boss lol).

Exaggeration? Maybe.

I know people really want stuff from more of the modern Kirby games... but I really think the fourth Kirby character should be Dark Matter or Gooey. Both are fare more unique as characters and have far more weight in the series. Gooey was Kirby's first Player 2 that wasn't a generic helper character and Dark Matter is the most recurring villain in the series considering Dedede and Meta Knight are more like anti-heroes.

I mean the first boss fits pretty well within canon if you go by sticker star’s changes. So as insane as it is, it fits with the ore established lore they were talking about in that interview.

The weirdest part of that interview is that ignoring the game itself, that rule makes no sense when you look at the mainline games.

Oddessy literally threw all kinds of new things not in the Mario lore previously. So why I wonder does a spinoff have no freedom in that department? Especially when it’s arguably the biggest Mario spinoff game series.

Why do you think the weird restrictions on Paper Mario got put in place? I will echo Arlo in saying that it's weird how inconsistent Nintendo can be. Sometimes they're artists first and they put out games like Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, the Metroid Prime series, Luigi's Mansion 3, Ultimate, etc. Sometimes it's even to their detriment with franchises like F-Zero or Golden Sun or EarthBound or countless others. Then other times they're shameless money grubbing businessmen with no care for the medium they work in or the franchise they create like with Gen 8 of Pokemon 2D Mario games, and their embarrassing Mobile Phone outings. And then there are times when the two happen at the same time in the same title and it's like "what on earth was the mindset behind this", case in point, Origami King.

Remember how a few days ago Microsoft had a huge live stream showing odd games for Series X?

No? Yeah. I forgot too. Easy to forget when they don't show anything big or interesting or that satisfies long held fan desires and just show off the usual **** and the stuff they were obviously working on.

Wasn't a new Battletoads game supposed to come out recently? What ever happened to that?

I have 2 guesses.

1. They made Paper Mario a shell of it's former self so it can be more in line with the brand image the New super Mario games established. Goombas, Koopas and Toads aren't a species, they are one character in multiple locations that can be made into t-shirts or toys, with the main Mario gang being the exceptions.

2. The first three paper Mario's are masterpieces yeah but 2 and 3 really pushed the envelope and inovated on what a Mario game can be with it's setting, with it's mildly dark tone and more plot heavy games. The main Mario gang have more character in these games than they ever had in mainline games. Luigi actually goes through character development in super, gaining some courage at the end so he can fight by himself against a tough opponent while Mario goes for the big bad. A corrupted Peach was a boss battle in ttyd, Mario ends up in HELL in super.

So I think the first three games got so dark that someone higher up at Nintendo had to step up and stop them before they could potentially damage Mario's childlike image.

Earthbound was supposed to end. It was a 3-part story, don't need to stretch out a story longer than it needs to be.

Do it like Final Fantasy. The only commonality between those games is the gameplay. Do the same with EarthBound. Start up a whole new story with new characters and the like.

The reason I suggested Cutman becoming Mega Man was due to what he was able to do in the Mega-Man Megamix and Gigamix manga.

In Mega Man Megamix and Gigamix, Cut Man seems to have a close friendly relationship with Rush, Mega Man's robotic canine, and is the only Robot Master that makes use of Rush's functions other than Mega Man. In Megamix, Cut Man is seen using the Rush Jet. In Gigamix, he used the Rush Bike, and even used the Super Adapter to transform into Super Cut Man (see gallery).

The first boss (Earth Vellumental) establishes lore for Koopa Troopas. Big No-No. But I digress.

To answer your second question, Nintendo is protective over their property, and if new lore or modifications to characters isn't made in house, then they won't approve of it. Luigi's Mansion 3 had to go all new, and Origami King had to do the same since they can't touch upon pre-established characters. Notice how both of those games weren't made in house, and were made by 2nd/3rd party companies? Odyssey wasn't, as it was made inhouse. People fail to realize that inhouse rules trump all else, and instead think it's all Paper Mario's fault, when in reality, they just CAN'T without the big N stepping down.

Ever wonder why the Superstar Saga remake had the enemies be more generic? What Tanabe said is the reason why.

Except, Itoi literally wanted the series to end.

I dunno about you, but I kinda respect them for respecting the wish of the series creator than dragging the series on eternally.

I took that more as relating to the story he wanted to tell and how he didn't want that stretched out and extended and bastardized.

And he was done with the story after that.

A story doesn't need to go on forever. He had a story he wanted to tell, he told it, the book is closed. Dragging on the series anymore past that would be in poor taste when the creator himself is done with it.

This is a reason im thankful that Mario and Luigi died when it did.

If it had continued we would have gotten Mario and Luigi sticker star down the line.
Though arguably that's what Paper jam was, which I never played on principal. Also why I bought the original bowser s inside story instead of the remake

Tbh, if it makes way for more unique characters in the Mario spinoffs, then I'm all for it. Especially if they appear in the main series like Goomboss did.

Future Mainline Mario game with the Vellumentals since TOK established them as Gods? (It's not gonna happen)

People talk about how they walk into a room and forget why all the time, but that rarely ever happens to me.

M&L's Sticker Star was Paper Jam, but at least the gameplay was fine, so it had that upper hand.

Still the worst M&L game though.

But why does it 'need' to go on?

It was a small franchise built around a single story, it never tried to be more than that. With games like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, they're usually self-contained stories that only lightly call back to elements from other games. Earthbound was a single story, it didn't 'need' to continue.

I don't see what the benefit of continuing the series would be. I love Earthbound, hell, I'd say it's one of my favorite RPGs of all time, but I'm more than okay with letting it rest forever.

At most it should get a remake in the style of Links awakening. That would fit perfectly.
