The Ratman route is a ****ing ***** but it definitely has its merits in giving you clues. No spoilers, though. You unlocked the Cave Johnson route? Which choices did you make in what scene?
GET MAD!THIS IS CURSED STOP
I feel out of my ****ing chair oh my god dude.GET MAD!
I DON'T WANNA WALK YOU HOME, SENPAI
I just wish people were more constantly aware of alternate perspectives. I wish that people would actually listen to people who disagree with their opinions and try to see things from their point of view. I wish companies payed attention to everyone. I wish more people noticed the quiet kid in the corner bored and alone and asked them what they would like to do. I wish that people realized that just because it sounds like everyone is happy, doesn't mean that they are. And I wish that people realized that being ignored can be far worse then being deliberately slighted.Well, for starters, lemme dial it back a bit:
Literally no one's calling what you like bad. Just because companies aren't making games like you like doesn't mean they're secretly burning voodoo effigies of your favorite platformer/adventure game protagonist and praising the church of open worlds. THIS is why people point out your "Woe is me" attitude because you always default to stuff like this.
And I already addressed your main point. It's what the general consumer wants. It will lose its luster in times, just like every other fad in time, you just have to be patient. Do you see a million zombie shooters being pumped out anymore? Or a bazillon racing games every month?
So we got 4 routes developing now:I feel out of my ****ing chair oh my god dude.
Like, I heard it in his voice.
Sounds like a game of pokernigjt at the inventorySo we got 4 routes developing now:
Cave Johnson: The tsundere
GlaDos: The Yandere
Ratman: The genki/childhood friend
Wheatly: The Kuudere
GlaDos the type of chick to send you to CJ's house and make you gently open the door.So we got 4 routes developing now:
Cave Johnson: The tsundere
GlaDos: The Yandere
Ratman: The genki/childhood friend
Wheatly: The Kuudere
It depends tbh. One of my favorite series (Paper Mario) has been going through an identity crisis since Super, and yet, I still enjoy (most of) the games. I do wish the series returned to its roots of the first 2, but that doesn't mean that I didn't like the other games. The discussion does bring up a good question. Would you prefer a series ending when it had much more potential, or the same series becoming more different with each title until it’s barely recognizable?
I personally would prefer Portal 3 not be an RPG dating sim.
What I hate so badly is that if you take the definition of yandere out of a dating sim and put it into Portal it literally matches GLaDOS exactly. So we got 4 routes developing now:
Cave Johnson: The tsundere
GlaDos: The Yandere
Ratman: The genki/childhood friend
Wheatly: The Kuudere
Im pretty sure I get what you’re saying, and I agree. You should make sure the series and it’s gameplay are established before testing out new concepts. But that won’t work for some games. Like the previously mentioned Portal, the entire population of our solar system agrees that it could never not be a puzzle game (officially, that is...). So it honestly just depends on the series. It depends tbh. One of my favorite series (Paper Mario) has been going through an identity crisis since Super, and yet, I still enjoy (most of) the games. Meanwhile, Golden Sun has ended on a... not very high note, and I really want to see more of it, but at the same time... it's best it doesn't get milked to death.
I feel like the best way to handle this is make it so that if the series were to change in any way, make a gane of an old style and then switch it uo for the next game. For example, for Paper Mario (since that seems to be my big topic of the month) it would be better if the games went:
64, TTYD, Super, game that's similar to TTYD, Origami King
Instead of the Super, to the weird detour of the Sticker Star duology, to Origami King.
Of course, my example doesn't just apply to Paper Mario, but I feel like that would be the best way of doing things.
THANK YOU.......wait isn't GlaDos' Chell's mom?
No.THANK YOU.
Yeah, it definitely depends on the series. Paper Mario was always about the adventure, that's why Super and Origami King are mostly well recieved; as different as they are, they still keep the fun spirit of adventure that the old games had, as well as their own quurks that make them worth playing.Im pretty sure I get what you’re saying, and I agree. Yeah. Games great. Although I personally found it frustrating I couldn’t do Melee and gun combat simultaneously like in games like DMC. I almost never took direct control of my legion in combat so I just wish I could have put the gun on the button instead. Treated it like a player 2.So been playing Astral Chain...apart from the camera that's pissing me off, the game is super fun, albeit button mashy.
...and I'm kind of opening up to the idea of Akira Howard being in Smash. Seems a rather interesting dynamic almost like a combination of Ice Climbers, Rosalina, and a bit of Min Min with a touch of Bayonetta....which now that I think about it, sounds ABSOLUTELY FRIKKING TERRIFYING!!!
I think we all wish that, but that's not the world we live in, if I'm to be blunt. A company's out to make the most profit it can, and if the wider market is saying "Big worlds! Big worlds!", that's the trend they're going to follow primarily, because that's where the money is.I just wish people were more constantly aware of alternate perspectives. That idea hurts my head.Yeah, it definitely depends on the series. Portal on the other hand, has always been about the puzzle solving. That's the main thing you're doing in those games. Wouldn't make sense if it was a Dating Simulator. Unless, it's puzzle based dating sim with portals, which in that case it still wouldn't make sense, but at least the spirit's still there.
The GTA community probably already modded San Andreas to have the Portal Gun.That idea hurts my head.
Portal is already a crossbreed between Puzzle and Shooter (kinda). Thinking about how it would end up if we kept the concept but replaced Shooter with something else, like Dating...
it’s scary.
Portal: My Love For You is Still Alive
Portal 3: Modern Warfare
New Super Portal 3D World
Portal FireRed
Portal LeafGreen
Wheatley’s Mansion
Portal 4: Arkham Asylum
Portal 5: Spyro’s Adventure
Portal 6: Story Mode
Portal: San Andreas
They did that years agoThe GTA community probably already modded San Andreas to have the Portal Gun.
I’m not asking them to stop making open worlds (any more). I’m just asking for more, additional stuff that isn’t.I think we all wish that, but that's not the world we live in, if I'm to be blunt. It all comes back to money.
And I mean, they are.I’m not asking them to stop making open worlds (any more). I’m just asking for more, additional stuff that isn’t.
Xenoblade is weird. Is Xenoblade Open World, or is it like Dragon Quest where the areas are open ended but you still have to go from point a to point b?
This is the case for Origami King btw, so add that to the list.
Xenoblade 1 and 2 still follow a linear path of progression but have vast open areas to explore as you go, XCX is full on open world. Is Xenoblade Open World, or is it like Dragon Quest where the areas are open ended but you still have to go from point a to point b?

I remeber Xenoblade X pulled the same thing. Never really got close to finishing it because of how confusing it was with the whole online vs offline features that was badly explained, and I felt like nothing was happening when I just wanted to get a move on.Xenoblade is weird.
It's like an MMO, but withoutout the MMO aspect. At least when I first played it, I thought I stepped into an MMO, but it was just mobs in the overworld.
Animal Crossing is one of those evergreen titles really. You really can't 'miss' anything, especially since it's still receiving new content. On another note entirely, I’m planning on getting Animal Crossing soon enough. Unless I’m too late to the party and it’s not worth it and I should just get anything else. What do you guys think?
It's still getting updates so there's still stuff to look forward too.On another note entirely, I’m planning on getting Animal Crossing soon enough. Unless I’m too late to the party and it’s not worth it and I should just get anything else. What do you guys think?
