I guess you’re right. But it’s still insanely freaky to think about it. I’ve never known this side of the smash community until now. And I know it isn’t everyone (quite obviously), but it’s just freaky, and i’m probably not in the right mindset right now. I’m sorry if I say something stupid.


I understand Smash is only opening up now, but like I said, it’s a process.
1. First person comes out about it.
2. Several more people realize it’s their chance to come out and do so as well
So the next logical step would be for the fictional victim of the Blazblue player to see their chance and come out, right?
But that hasn’t happened yet. It’s still just Smash.

If you think that way, I can’t exactly just say you’re wrong. We’ll have to see what happens next. I don’t think it’s been a full 2 days since this started, so I can’t claim that nobody from some other FGC will ever come out about it.


If that’s the case, so many people in the smash community wouldn’t have come out. You’re not wrong, but if so many people in the smash community are able to do it, you’d think maybe one person from some other community would be able to. Who knows, like I said before, I may be wrong. Some Tekken fan may come out about something right after I post this.

At the same time, who's amongst his audience? Kids. Because of the internet it's become increasingly harder to hide porn from kids because showing that when kids aren't fully developed can have serious longlasting effects

People who isolate themselves like that usually do live life normally and end up damaging themselves mentally. That doesn’t excuse their actions, but there’s a reason in cops shows that they killers or whatnot are displayed as socially awkward more often then not. Because there is an actually basis in psychology for it.

As I don't have a twitter account, per se, nor do I really use a lot of social media in general, I suppose I'll collect my thoughts regarding the recent occurrences here.

It's... highly, highly unfortunate and saddening, to say the least, when several of the people you and/or your friends look up to, at least to some capacity, are accused or proven to be predators, creeps, or however else you may describe their behavior and actions as. It undoubtedly puts a stain on the smash community, and, to an extent, the wider fighting game community as a whole.

The recent events have also brought wider attention to the scene and the evildoers, for a current lack of a better word, that reside within it. With the public and media now likely paying close (or at least closer-than-before) attention to how the scene responds, I believe that certain appropriate actions and responses should be taken against the perpetrators, and those who have closely supported or defended them, to show those who now look on that the scene isn't just made up of creeps and perverts. (Repercussions against the perpetrators have already started to occur, of course, but I just feel that more needs to be done).

Additionally, I fully understand why someone unrelated to the events that occurred may wish to leave the smash or fighting game community, at least for a bit, to try and disassociate themselves with the occurrences, perpetrators, and/or drama.

Now, I'm sure the opinion I, as a random minor on a semi-obscure internet forum website, doesn't hold much weight in the grand scheme of things, but I had just wanted to get my thoughts and whatnot on the matter out there in some way or another.

With all this drama surrounding the Smash community and the bot infestation in Team Fortress 2, it feels sad how two things I enjoy are being destroyed by communities.

It's unfortunate that grown adults haven't learnt:

1) Don't touch underage children. You should probably not even interact with them outside of Smash Bros. At least I would not.

2) Don't touch people without their explicit consent- period. Again, not rocket science. Certainly disappointed with some of the news I have stumbled across today.

With that being said, this kind of stuff has to happen if we're actually going to see progress, and not just have figureheads sweeping issues under the carpet.

It's extremely thorough for a response to a tweet. Sucks that amidst all the other genuine accusations, some bad faith actor has to be the 3% that makes it harder for the actual victims to come forward

Yeah it seems GimR (I think) and Zero got falsely accused.

The rest seem pretty damning but those two were able to defend themselves pretty handily.

Just goes to show, there's another side to this issue. Accusations of sexual misconduct aren't always true. There do exist people scummy enough (in a different sense) to lie about something that disgusting and serious.

False claims hurt everyone, the accused innocent and victims of actual misconduct alike. You don't lie about this kind of ****. Period.

So, with my sister's help, we took down two beehives in my window.

The first one was a regular honey comb bee nest. It had 5 bees sleeping inside, one of them stung my sister, which I'm not taking well. The second one was a mud bee nest, which is basically a rock glued to the wall on the inside. We took that thing down in time, as we learned that there was a dead spider inside, meaning that they were going to start breeding. Mud Bees has a very nasty sting that has sent me to the hospital in the past.

Overall, they're gone, so now I can safely open my window and allow fresh air in my room once more.

I don't think EVO will ever recover from this, frankly. With both Capcom and NRS pulling out of it, and Nintendo probably ****ing done with the competitive scene, what's even left aside from Tekken/Bamco, ArcSys and some anime games?

I think the FGC scene will take a long while to recover from based on what's been going on.

Anyways, since EVO is usually the place where they unveil new and upcoming content for fighting games and with it being cancelled, my next best prediction for fighting game news might come to the online Comic-con at Home event which is happening later this month. Bamco and Capcom usually have a presence there so I think there might be a possible chance they could bring their news to the event.

Regarding all the allegations, what most people (myself included) are feeling has already been said many times, so I'd like to bring up some other things related to discussion here:

Competitive Smash doesn't need EVO anymore since it has its own events like Super Smash Con and Genesis that draw in as many viewers as EVO. A big complaint from regular FGC members is that Smash players seem to walk into their events and demand specialist treatment, and I find it hard to disagree since many Smash players aren't aware of the FGC's opinions, feelings and customs when taking part in their events. In fact, I doubt the FGC as a whole needs EVO since rivals like CEO and Combo Breaker exist, but I don't know much about them or the FGC as a whole (I know, that makes me exactly who I'm criticising).

In addition, stay away from Smash subreddits and Twitter pages as a whole, even when there isn't giant drama in the Smash community. People on those are constantly negative and arguments frequently break out over the dumbest things. Since it's not worth trying to get an internet mob to change, it's best to just step away from them.
