I know you hate that game but it should count for something. I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to add her to the next console game in the series.

It's also the first time Dixie got in a Mario Kart game. It's a good start~

I posted this a while ago in a PM but I think it's relevent.

The way I see it, this is what Mario spinoff rosters should look like.

The "You're suicidal if you remove them" tier:
Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Rosalina, Toad

The "not essential but its heckin' weird when they're gone" tier:
Diddy Kong, King Boo, Toadette, Petey Piranha, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Koopa, Dry Bones, Dry Bowser, Shy Guy, Birdo

The "should be in more games" tier:
Pauline, Dixie Kong, Funky Kong, King K. Rool, E. Gadd

There are probably lots more but... I feel these are among the most important ones.

The main character looks more like a DBZ character than most Dragon Quest characters.

Like, I'm really getting Goku vibes from him. Moreso than Arusu.

I agree. Probably because of the game's aesthetics, they are pretty much one-to-one on shading and design based on the last huge Dragon Ball game.

It looks like they're trying to be super-close to the original art style of the manga, which practically screamed late 80s Toriyama. It wasn't actually Toriyama, but that's the specific era it was more close to. Sometimes it looks like Arale-era.

He just looks like Kid Goku, and Arusu is like the weird hypothetical Gokhan we never saw.

Yes, it's based on the manga of the same name, Dragon Quest: Adventures of Dai. Ran from the late 80s to '96, I believe.

I read one volume of Dragon Quest Dai. It was pretty fun, it's one of Shonen's best sellers IIRC. I believe they actually use RPG elements, as in like, Dai had literal stats they would show you in the tankobons.

The story's ****ing weird, too, Dai got adopted by this thing:

Kinda expected but hey there's always room for improvement.
