I prefer infinite in almost every way except for the lack of graphical polish. Maybe it’s because I grew up in MCU era Marvel, the first real exposure I had to them at all was The Avengers and by that time I was already a bigger Justice League fan thanks to Cartoon Network, anyway.... Infinite just has more of the characters I know and recognize as Marvel icons. Sure. 3 had some beef characters, but no Ultron? No Thanos? No Black Panther or Captain Marvel? Hawkeye without Black Widow? It just felt.... lacking.... in a way that Infinite didn’t. Now granted, I recognize that leaving out the X-Men and Fantastic Four Completely was a bad move, even if I think the fandom overreacted a smidge, but I look back at Marvel 2 and all the characters they want back and just get baffled why they want the roster to be so overloaded with X-Men to the point that it’s basically an X-Men game with a few Marvel guests. Like, sure, throw in a few more X-Men. But try to keep it under like... 6-7 total. And give us plenty of exciting characters from other areas of marvel like Blade, Punisher, Inhumans, Namor, Wonder Man, Daredevil, The Runaways, some Spider-Man villains beyond Venom, some other villains from other characters rogues galleries like Mandarin, Leader, Red Skull, and Loki. So much potential. Anyway I got sidetracked.I'd say so
Mahvel Rants. What's up, everyone? Fine, morning, would you say?
"Besides, P4 was better"
Minus DQ, who just want someone to love them as much as they love themselvesEvery community is usually so phobic of newcomers that the middle two genuinely surprise me.
I thought Persona 5 was the best selling and most popular game in the franchise? A year ago people were telling me that Joker would be an evergreen pick that people would always remember to to the franchise’s legacy.View attachment 247242
well, I mean.. I like P5 but man, P4 is goty
SMT fans are a different breed altogether. Always complain about Persona being the more popular franchise, which isn't even Atlus's fault. It's like a DQ-FF situation with those two franchises, one just simply did better despite the other being historical. You know, I actually didn't see many Persona fans who complain about newcomers. SMT fans tend to be more conservative about them.
Though P4 is better and they should say it
I am a Dragon Quest fan and also enjoy Final Fantasy doh.SMT fans are a different breed altogether. Always complain about Persona being the more popular franchise, which isn't even Atlus's fault. Well, yes, but keep in mind that DQ fans don't usually carry resentment torwards FF.I am a Dragon Quest fan and also enjoy Final Fantasy doh.
according to keighley, yes it isI wonder if Smash Ultimate is eligible for nominations, given it was released in December, meaning it was too late for last year.
That's true.I thought Persona 5 was the best selling and most popular game in the franchise? A year ago people were telling me that Joker would be an evergreen pick that people would always remember to to the franchise’s legacy.
yes, Persona 5 was good and fun and the characters were good tooI thought Persona 5 was the best selling and most popular game in the franchise? A year ago people were telling me that Joker would be an evergreen pick that people would always remember to to the franchise’s legacy.
Eh, Social Link part is arguable. I found non-playable Confidants more memorable and interesting overall compared to P4.yes, Persona 5 was good and fun and the characters were good too
But Persona 4 story and characters were amazing plus the Social links were better
"Give me a like, and I'll like your like, and if you like my like, then I will like your like to my like to your like"I had a dream that on social media sites you can like someone for liking your post and they can like your like back.
Please never let that happen.
I love Kanji and Yosukes Socials so much, and Nanako and Dojimas, theirs was amazing. Naotos was good too. not so sure about Chie and Yukikos since I was more invested in the other charactersEh, Social Link part is arguable. Agreed that your party wasn't developed as well as they could.
Too bad that DQXI S can’t get nominated due to it being some sort of deluxe edition.anyways, here are my final predictions for The Game Awards GOTY nominations
-Resident Evil 2 Remake
-Death Stranding (Controversial, yes, but Keighley and Kojima are pretty much lovers at this point. I'd be shocked if this wasn't nominated)
-Super Smash Bros Ultimate
-Fire Emblem: Three Houses
-Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
my only problem with these predictions, is the lack of any western games whatsoever. There's usually one present, but I couldn't really think of any major ones this year. I guess you can say Japan really stepped up their game.
Crash Team Racing? I mean, you have the RE2 remake on there.....anyways, here are my final predictions for The Game Awards GOTY nominations

RE2 is a "Remake" in that it takes the same story beats and setting from the original but is also so different that it's practically not even the same game.Outer Worlds?
Also I highly disagree with remakes being nominated.
I already gave you my stand on that...Also I highly disagree with remakes being nominated.
Fixed that for youPersona Communuty after Joker: "Man I really want Persona 5 on Switch"
I still want Persona 5 on Switch. I maintain that non-action RPGs work best on handhelds so you can do grind seshes on the bus, train, or toilet and can pick it up whenever you have free time. Setting aside time to play a game that can be so monotonous seams foolish to me.Fixed that for you
Wouldn’t they have nominated the Crash remakes in 2017 if they even took remakes into consideration? That was extremely successful, so they could’ve easily nominated it.I already gave you my stand on that...
if it was able to get nominated and downright win at the Golden Joystick Awards, I'd say it's more than eligible here.
Sure, maybe the gameplay is tweaked. But like you said, it still takes story beats from the original.RE2 is a "Remake" in that it takes the same story beats and setting from the original but is also so different that it's practically not even the same game.
in about an hour, Noon ESTActually, when do the nominations get announced?
Yeah. It's why I like Dragon Quest on androids. They're very chill when you're waiting in line for food or just taking a break from studying.I still want Persona 5 on Switch. I agree with most of this, don't quite see Three Houses getting the nomination though.anyways, here are my final predictions for The Game Awards GOTY nominations

You gotta remember that 2017 was an absolutely jam packed year with likes of BoTW, Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Super Mario OdysseyWouldn’t they have nominated the Crash remakes in 2017 if they even took remakes into consideration? That was extremely successful, so they could’ve easily nominated it.

When you think about it, Smash Bros Ultimate is just a remake of Smash 4 without being called a remake.https://www.polygon.com/platform/am...cizes-the-unnatural-amount-of-remakes-and-old
