Yeah, I think it's best to ignore Smash fanbase's weird hate for human characters.Hopefully it is just me, but most people around Discord seem to really stand against Pauline being added in any Smash game for "being too human".
I personally disagree with those statements, but I sadly can't do much about it.
GoooodHi peeps, how's it going?
I suppose that could work.I honestly do.
I can easily see her using the Minis from Mario vs Donkey Kong, the items from the DK arcade, dance moves and even stuff such as tennis rackets.
Mini DK could easily be her Up B which works like a bouncer.
Because we have too many anime swordfighters! Meanwhile the poor cartoony punchies never get that kind of love! There's only so many ways to swing a sword. Now punching, that never gets old! We should have more punchies!Yeah, I think it's best to ignore Smash fanbase's weird hate for human characters.
It's an argument they only bring up when it's conventional for them and makes zero sense.
I swear if you don’t give me back that day planner I’ll subject you to unfathomable pain in places you didn’t even know you had!Impidoo Impido
No
Doing ok. Finished the clothing organization section of the moving project I'm on.Gooood
What about you?
Jet Jaguar, Susan Storm and Ash Williams from media that isn't videogames. What's everyone's three favorite characters ever? Mine are
1. Daggett (The Angry Beavers)
2. Tie between Godzilla and Gamera
3. King Kong
It's funny how people complain about too many fighting/JRPG characters and then write-off unconventional character choices like we don't already haveI honestly find it really ironic that many Smash fans talk about how much they have played Nintendo games since the N64 or NES days as if that meant they know everything regarding Nintendo characters... Just to then claim for example that Pauline can only dance and be kidnapped as if they only played Odyssey and heard about the DK arcade.
Even when she was a key character in the entire Mario vs DK series, which alone gives enough material for her moveset already.
Ok. I get that the hate for “anime Swordfighters” is overblown. But don’t try to tell me that most of the Fire Emblem characters give off a similar vibe.Because we have too many anime swordfighters! I think it’s a perfect comparison. Fire Emblem by itself breaks the “it needs to be a recurring character/element rule” because if it were a rule we wouldn’t have any Fire Emblem characters. Rosalina was in 4’s project plan before she became a mainstay. At the time, for all Sakurai knew, she would have just been a one-off. But he liked Galaxy enough to add her. And now she’s a Mario mainstay probably because she was in Smash. Same with Bowser Jr. sure, he’s been in a good chunk of games, but you’d be hard pressed to argue that he’s an important and integral recurring character. Heck, he’s not even in odyssey. Neither is Rosalina. I see no problem with adding in other Zelda characters if they’re interesting and unique.Comparing Zelda's situation to Fire Emblem's really doesn't make any sense. Zelda tends to keep the core set of Link/Zelda/Ganon (or at the very least just Link) while introducing non-recurring side characters. This is different from Fire Emblem, which not only swaps out side characters, but the entire cast. It's not comparable.
That being said, I do think there are still good options for Zelda characters, in an area that is currently untapped in Smash. While Zelda doesn't have many recurring characters, it does have recurring races. We've gotten Hylians (Link, Link, Link, and Zelda), Sheikah (Sheik), and Gerudo (Ganondorf), but we've yet to get any Gorons or Zora. The general Goron and Zora body types are things that aren't really seen in Smash, after all, and the natural abilities of those races work really well in moveset theory crafting. Yeah, Daruk and Darunia may not be recurring, but Gorons are. Mipha and Ruto may be one offs, but the Zora themselves aren't.
Or cartoony punchy dudes who we have just as much of as 'aneem swooerds', if not moreIt's funny how people complain about too many fighting/JRPG characters and then write-off unconventional character choices like we don't already have
Nah, Kirby doesn't deserve another rep.Can we all agree that Kirby needs one more rep? I just don´t really know who they could pick though.*cough cough* Bandanna Dee *cough cough*
I mean that kind of happens when the majority of them have the same moveset. It's the same problem as the 3 LinksOk. I get that the hate for “anime Swordfighters” is overblown. But don’t try to tell me that most of the Fire Emblem characters give off a similar vibe.

I don't really think the Smash fanbase favors a specific category of characters over humans. Yeah, we have characters like Crash and Geno, but there's also Sora, Doomguy, Steve, and Ryu Hayabusa.Yeah, I think it's best to ignore Smash fanbase's weird hate for human characters.
It's an argument they only bring up when it's conventional for them and makes zero sense.
Honestly, you really could pull a Hero with Marth, Roy, Chrom, and Lucina and I don’t think anyone would complain.I mean that kind of happens when the majority of them have the same moveset. It's the same problem as the 3 Links
You know why Ike has two models, right?Fire Emblem by itself breaks the “it needs to be a recurring character/element rule” because if it were a rule we wouldn’t have any Fire Emblem characters.
His costume from his appearance in two different games. You know why Ike has two models, right?
Nah, the excuse is that the people hating 'aneem' only ever played all the cartoony platformers that existed and to this day only play those.Yeah but
cartoony punchy dudes are funnier
I would complain. I prefer the Roy/Chrom playstyle much more than the Marth/Lucina one, and I would imagine they would prioritize Marth's.Honestly, you really could pull a Hero with Marth, Roy, Chrom, and Lucina and I don’t think anyone would complain.
Pretty sure the uploader blew itself up againim not sure if someone mentioned it, but the saturday, My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic just ended with 9 years of magical friendship. All i can say as bronie is this.
"Don’t cry because it’s over; smile because it happened"
Edit: Its me or the inserted images are not working?
also I haven’t played either but isn’t Roy in both games of blazing and binding bade? You know why Ike has two models, right?
People WOULD complain, but I'd honestly be more than okay with it since I really don't see the purpose in rehashing a single character three times.Honestly, you really could pull a Hero with Marth, Roy, Chrom, and Lucina and I don’t think anyone would complain.
Mate I’ve played platformers and jrpgs by the dozen. I love both the styles.Nah, the excuse is that the people hating 'aneem' only ever played all the cartoony platformers that existed and to this day only play those.
For the record I only ever mention the large amount cartoony punchy dudes as a counterpoint to 'waaaaah aneeeeeeeem' as I'd like Crash despite how we all know he'd be a whacky wahoo punchy dude
Cartoon Mascots are the most oppressed of all the smash charactersIn retaliation for the hatred of anime swordsmen people are now starting to hate on cartoony mascots.
War is upon us.
Are you sure? I remember a lot of complaints about human/anime/realistic characters in Smash 4. But nobody complained when Simon was the only unique human base game newcomer.I don't really think the Smash fanbase favors a specific category of characters over humans. Yeah, we have characters like Crash and Geno, but there's also Sora, Doomguy, Steve, and Ryu Hayabusa.
Smash might be biased against swordfighters and anime, but I don't think humans in general have ever been an issue.
I think a lot of actual Fire Emblem fans would complain, same with people who just like Roy/Chrom/Lucina's movesets.Honestly, you really could pull a Hero with Marth, Roy, Chrom, and Lucina and I don’t think anyone would complain.
No you idiot.Cartoon Mascots are the most oppressed of all the smash characters
