Gamefreak let some dudes play the first hour or so of the game. And they may be able to show that footage on Thursday.So.... I heard that there was likely to be an info drop for Pokémon soon because of... something related to a YouTube embargo? What was that?
Well, kinda. The Uni WiFi is hot garbage, and Smash borderline didn't work on it, and having an ethernet cable changed that a lot, now everything's smooth. You mean you in particular?
Funnily enough, that's when my birthday starts.Gamefreak let some dudes play the first hour or so of the game. And they may be able to show that footage on Thursday.
Maybe.
We’ll see.
DID SOMEONE SAY TEKKEN BALL?!I find it bizarre we haven't had an official Smash-type "sports" mode yet. The physics engine is built for knocking things around a stage so doing some sort of soccer/basketball mini-game shouldn't be too difficult, especially when even Ubisoft managed to do so with Ray Man 5 years ago.
So.... hmmm..... that doesn’t necessarily mean we’d even see anything interesting. Unless you can fully evolve a Pokémon in the first hour. They probably wouldn’t even need to reveal anything new beforehand.Gamefreak let some dudes play the first hour or so of the game. And they may be able to show that footage on Thursday.

That's the biggest disappointment with Ultimate for me, in addition to World of Light lacking some meat on its bones. The core gameplay, roster, stage selection, feature set, and item selection? All above and beyond. But when comparing the minigame selection to that of previous entries, it's lacking. We finally got Home Run Contest, but then that addition was given the clarification that it was the last mode that will be added to the game, which is disappointing. All the cool little minigames in Melee and Brawl are gone, particularly Break the Targets, Event Match, and Coin Launcher. If we could've just gotten one or two of those, the game would feel so much more complete.I find it bizarre we haven't had an official Smash-type "sports" mode yet. Gonna pull out a Pokemon I made from my fakedex long ago:So going off what I said earlier, pick a under/unused type here, as many as you like and come up with a concept for a Pokémon that would fit:
Fighting/Ground
That's likely the price to pay for having every previous character and about a dozen more added in. Still a Tekken Ball style mode would be great. I really like Squad Strike being in, so no complaints there either. That's the biggest disappointment with Ultimate for me, in addition to World of Light lacking some meat on its bones. Event Match in particular is a huge wasted opportunity, but I suppose all the Spirit battles are just a slightly thinner version of Event Matches.
I feel like they solved the "too many characters" issue for Break the Targets in Brawl. In Melee, each character had their own special stage, but doing that for 80 characters would be nuts. So in Brawl, with its 36 characters, they just made five Targets stages that you could play through with any character, which I think was a solid compromise, and I don't understand why they couldn't have done that with future games. Well, in Smash 4, they replaced it with that nasty Target Blast mode, but we don't talk about that. That's likely the price to pay for having every previous character and about a dozen more added in. I think the Spirit Board is a better replacement for Event matches. I think a Boss Rush would be the mode I'd ask for other than some Tekken Ball equivalent.
They have enough with Master Hand, Crazy Hand, Giga Bowser, Ganon, Gallom, Rathalos, Marx and Dracula. Hell, just add a health bar to Metal Face and Yellow Devil and there's two more bosses to add.
So, like Coin Smash?Say guys, in regards to Smash Bros. Ultimate, what if we had different objectives in gameplay, like minigames? As in, not try to knock each other off the stage, but do something else, like stealing each others flags or breaking down walls that lead to an item one needs to steal with attacks, something like that, in case we don't have those kind of minigames yet?
Gen 3: 2002-2006Can someone explain to me what happened in Pokémon’s release schedule that we don’t have a Gen 3 or 5 Pokémon in Smash? Like, how were those generations not timely with a Smash game ever?
Ruby and Sapphire came out 2002-2003.Can someone explain to me what happened in Pokémon’s release schedule that we don’t have a Gen 3 or 5 Pokémon in Smash? Like, how were those generations not timely with a Smash game ever?
Because they weren't the newest games. Fire Red and Leaf Green were new which Sakurai used for Pokemon Trainer and so were Diamond and Pearl which justified Diamond and Pearl. When Smash 4 came out, X and Y were already out and the shiny new games and gen 5 was just too lateCan someone explain to me what happened in Pokémon’s release schedule that we don’t have a Gen 3 or 5 Pokémon in Smash? Gens 3 and 5 were released as the earlier of two gens between a Smash game, they just prioritized Pokemon from the newest games (or Kanto pandering). It's not like they went completely unrepped, Rayquaza was a boss in Brawl, and Unova League is a stage. Can someone explain to me what happened in Pokémon’s release schedule that we don’t have a Gen 3 or 5 Pokémon in Smash? Generation is generally used to define the introduction of a new region with new Pokémon and characters. That’s just weird to me.
Like, when I was younger, I thought “Generation” meant all the Pokémon games on one system. So Gen 1 way Game Boy, Gen 2 GBC, Gen 3 GBA etc etc.
Like, if there are gonna be multiple “generations” on the same system then why even call them that?
It depends as remakes are often considered the same generation as the games they released after, FRLG is considered gen 3 depending on who you ask but the Pokemon roster itself is gen 1That’s just weird to me.

Gen 6 had X/Y, Kalos and it’s Pokémon. Gen 7 had Sun/Moon, Alola and it’s Pokémon. So on.
I know that now. And that makes a degree of sense....It depends as remakes are often considered the same generation as the games they released after, FRLG is considered gen 3 depending on who you ask but the Pokemon roster itself is gen 1

What am I even looking at?
Because you find great memes like these.
Something happened in Fortnite and people think/joke that it's a Smash tease. What am I even looking at?
Better yet. Imagine the Smash logo appears and the freakout on this websiteImagine if it’s not a joke and Fortnite stays dead.
Imagine the freak out.
I would be laughing madly like cackling hyenas on cocaine. Fortnite isn't bad but it's toxic and overrated.Imagine if it’s not a joke and Fortnite stays dead.
Imagine the freak out.
The thought of that makes me both easy and worried. My little cousins are huge on the game (I won't go into specifics because it's touchy to talk about them), so I'm scared about how this whole blackout is affecting them.Imagine if it’s not a joke and Fortnite stays dead.
Imagine the freak out.
They go all Flappy Bird and decide to shut down the entire thing for the, "good of the community".Imagine if it’s not a joke and Fortnite stays dead.
Imagine the freak out.
