Lloyd is gonna be the most controversial pick if hes in, bar none.

On one hand, he's a character that has actually been requested since brawl

But on the other, he's gonna have the "anime swordsman" stigma
Tales is more of an Action RPG, at least from the gameplay seen, so I'm not as squeamish towards him as I used to be.

That said, the promise of more characters should definitely soften any potential blows.

Watched the river dale tonight. It was one of their most well written episodes. A really touch but sad tribute to Luke perry

Eh, to be honest I think it’s best to ignore haters when it comes to this stuff.

Haters are the loudest, close-minded individuals, and they’re everywhere. Somebody could come up with the cure for Cancer, and there would be haters complaining about their tax dollars being spent.

Luckily Smash isn’t as big of a deal as that would be. But I think the point stands. If Sakurai listened to the haters, this game wouldn’t be nearly as amazing as it is imo.

If he's been requested since Brawl I'm sure they have exceptions to this rule due to their flimsy and inconsistent logic.
Ya ever wonder if when those two things collide how existence itself will come to an end?

"Me want Lloyd.....but he anime swordsman."

I know the Pokémon talk kinda died down when I was writing this, but regardless, does anyone wanna help me come up with some Smash style movesets for my Pokémon fighting game?
Gen I:
Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Machamp, Gengar, Meowth, Alakazam, Mewtwo.
Gen II:
Feraligatr, Typhosion, Scizor, Heracross, Granbull, Ampharos, Tyranitar, Entei.
Gen III:
Sceptile, Blaziken, Swampert, Gardevoir, Flygon, Metagross, Aggron, Deoxys.
Gen IV:
Empoleon, Infernape, Lucario, Garchomp, Weavile, Toxicroak, Roserade, Darkrai.
Gen V:
Oshawott, Zoroark, Darmanitan, Golurk, Hydreigon, Haxorus, Meloetta, Genesect.
Gen VI:
Greninja, Braixen, Hawlucha, Noivern, Florges, Pangoro, Aegislash, Goodra,
Gen VII:
Incineroar, Decidueye, Bewear, Salazzle, Golisopod, Mimikyu, Tapu Koko, Pheromosa.
Gen VIII: Corviknight, Dreadnaw? Obstagoon?, Sirfetch’d?,

Extended:
Pikachu and Eevee.

Other fighters I’m considering/potential DLC:

Snorlax, Hitmonlee, Dragonite, Sandslash, Rhyhorn, Nidoking,
Azumarill, Blissey, Quagsire, Suicine, Raikou,
Mawile, Sableye, Cacturne, Absol, Breloom,
Lopunny, Gallade, Rhyperior, Luxray, Abomasnow, Electivire,
Emboar, Scrafty, Bisharp, Mienshao, Krookodile, Archeops, Excadrill
Chesnaught, Heliolisk, Hoopa,
Primarina, Zeraora, Alolan Marowak, Marshadow, Poipole,
Melmetal

I’m prioritizing STAB and signature moves first and I don’t mind Pokémon already in Smash sharing some moves but I want to make them more similar to their iterations in the Pokémon series.

Here’s some stuff for Roserade for example:
Neutral: Magical Leaf-group of Strange leafs that act as homing projectiles, potentially be charged
Side: Poison Sting-small stealthy projectile that inflicts poison damage
Down: Mega Drain-close range attack that drains an opponent’s health and replenishes their own
Up: Petal Blizzard-twirls upwards in a tornado of petals, petals do small amounts of damage

Honestly I think I’d like Yuri a bit more, his gameplay looks more unique to me than Lloyd’s. I feel like they’d pull a lot from :ultswordfighter: for Lloyd
I don't think they'd have to pull much from other characters for any Tales character, they more or less already have movesets within the actual Tales games

So to prepare for the Squid Boss, I grinded a bit on an island to get Hustle Dance for Sylvando. Went to a King Slime and got massacred.

Then, I went to grind out a normal enemy. I hit a Slime thinking it was gonna be a cakewalk, but I knew something was up when they had absurdly high health. Then they fused, and...

I won that fight, never again.

What’s the best Disney sequel and why is it Lion King 1 1/2?
Simba's Pride would've been the best if the soundtrack (not counting musical numbers) was better and a few deleted scenes had been kept. I still stand by the opinion that it's a great sequel.

Jokes or no jokes, I actually enjoy 1 1/2, too. Watched it all the time as a kid, and I still appreciate it for what it is.

I've made movesets for several of those Pokémon before.
And then there are others I've created special-only movesets for. If you want a move clarified, you can ask me.

I know nothin about Lloyd lol

Hope his moves are interesting.
If you want a good idea:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt-2ji5mnuc

He does have regular attacks, but I haven't found a video that showcases them. The beginning moves, like Demon Fang, Tiger blade and Sword Rain, would be some of his obvious specials, due to being the original moves. The later moves are when those moves are "mastered" and thus, gives him access to "combined moves". His Level 3/"Mystic Arte" would be his Final Smash.

That would actually be an interesting game mechanic. His Specials would be normal, but they can be "combined"/used in tandem to make them the stronger moves, but forcing Lloyd to have more recovery time which make him easier to punish if he chooses to do so. Something kinda like Dancing Blade, except it revolves around his Special moves. I don't think we have a character dedicated to something like that yet.
