To be fair the translation can be considered a product of its time in that regard. In 2004, the whole “moral guardians against LGBT” was still a thing when it came to children’s media (including video games, since TTYD was rated E for Everyone) like for T and M rated games, they could add LGBT rep whenever they wanted but not in E games back then

Having played Banjo a bit for a week now, my favorite part of the character is definitely their really strong neutral. Egg grenade is easily the best part of the character's moveset for how much free stage control it gives, followed by bair and ftilt, just good moves for whiff punishing and walling all around. Guh-huhriyah is pretty damn safe when spaced well, so having a good kill move to throw out is nice. Confirms like grenade into fair and shielded grenade into shield poke up smash are really fun too. I like this character a lot overall, uair and Gun are basically their only non-moves. They don't feel too gimmicky, just solid all around.

Though to be fair, English localisations of Mario Party 8 had Bowser call all the girls, including Birdo, a "cutie".

It's currently on Season 4 and there is no doubt in my mind they're just gonna rerelease another Street Fighter 5 game with all of the new seasons coming in for free.

Ono confirmed more content is to be announced in November and December. The update with Honda, Poison, and Lucia was labeled as "Summer 2019 Character Bundle", and a winter pack was hinted at by a fairly reputable leaker.

SFV is probably gonna be around up until the release of PS5, which is still over a year from now, so they'll definitely still keep making new content for it until then at the very least.

Also doubt it would stop now since it's one of the most popular fighting games in esports.

Well it's been a good run y'all, but I think it's about time I left this thread for good. Or at least for a good while. I know it might seem sudden, but I've been thinking about doing this for a good long while now.

I just came here to have fun. I like video games, and be it in a casual or critical manner, I like talking about video games.
But often times this thread just stresses me out. We're always arguing over things like roster picks, the national dex, or passive aggressive arguments over the gender identity of fictional characters and I'm just tired of it. As a wise man once said, if it's not fun, why bother?

While I do have some "friends" here, I wouldn't describe any of them as that close. Just people I get along with. I think part of why I come here is because I went to find a certain sense of belonging within a community, but I've never truly felt it in this thread. It's no one's fault in particular for this, I'm just not that great at getting close to people.

And as I've learned from my two week-long experimental breaks in the past, I'm probably a lot better off without the thread. I just waste so much time mindlessly scrolling through the pages to catch up when I could be doing some more active activity. Time I could be spending doing chores, playing games, or doing some other hobby. I feel like a slave to my phone and computer, always having to bring this page up to see what people have said.

On the off chance anyone wants to see me again, I'll still be posting in the Competitive Character Impressions thread in the Competitive Discussion, and my PMs and profile page will be left open. I'll be using a browser extension to block this thread shortly, though.

So, adios mi amigos. I'll miss some of you but it's probably for the best.

Besides, FE isn't strange to the concept, gender non-conforming characters have a few examples and Radiant Dawn had an openly trans woman(who unfortunately got changed to a cis man in the localization but **** what the localization says)

Yeah she existed, but she also existed to be an offensive stereotype and was clearly not done to be progressive in any meaningful way. I don't know how the writing treated her but it was meant as an example of IS not being completely strange to the concept.
After all, 3H is a game with many openly bisexual characters that are treated very well by the writing but it was preceeded by Fates with... Niles and Not!Tharja...

We may have not been very close, but I always appriciated your sense of humor and way to go about topics. It's a shame you have to go, but it's understandable, lord know this thread stress me out at time, but I always come back to it because I don't know any better.

How did THAT happen? I thought people hated it? What, did it catch on through sheer stubbornness of the SF Community?

I really think they should be focusing on their next steps though. I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, they’ve been really hitting out of the park lately, and that same effort and love they put into Mega Man and DMC and RE needs to go into their fighting games.
