Well I know I'm a hypocrite for what I'm about to say after my last post, but...

Considering people are claiming she has kids and magical all fantasy Fire Emblem means we have to take realism of modernday medicine into account I'd say they're indeed saying that

...I never said that their couldn't be a magical version of a sex change therapy in that world.

I'm the one who brought up that possibility that such a therapy could exist in that world. But I guess nuance doesn't exist in this black/white world, does it?

Well maybe "heated" isn't the right word but a lot of people are clearly being made very uncomfortable about the topic.

Fantasy is good, but you can't just make up the rules and technological advancements of the universe you're talking about unless you're JK Rowling or something.

Unless the game shows me evidence for why a character could be trans, I can't reasonably assume there's an implication on anything. Mercedes has kids. We don't know if there's any way she can have kids while still being trans. Ergo, we can probably assume IS intended her to be cis.

To be fair, what issues would a character need to go through to even give the implication they're possibly trans?

Identity and image issues are pretty common even amongst normies and simply dressing "manly" or "girly" are slowly becoming less of a rarity for the sexes, and it's made even harder to decipher with these characters being from Japanese culture where it's popular for crossdressers to exist or very feminine men to exist.

It's purely psychological and would need to have an undeniable reference, implication, or mention for one to be seen as a trans character. That, or they show you the process of them starting out masculine/feminine and then slowly gaining the body of their dreams as the story progresses. Could be a clever way of subtly including a trans character.

That's what you're implying. Assuming cis as the default implicates transgenderism as "other" which segregates those groups of people

Is nobody going to point out that in several of Mercedes’s endings it says she had kids, and therefore a fully functioning female reproductive system.

I'd like a source on that because all of the listed endings in the wiki(which are incomplete, to be fair) that mention anything about children mention she opened an orphanage. There's actually no mention of her having biological children.

When you pass off your headcanon as fact, you give reasoning as I said before. If it's just "I have traits that match this character," then that's fine. However, saying that and "this person is trans" give the wrong impression fast. If you can't understand how you word things matter, then this conversation wont go anywhere.

I very much did read it, doesn't mean it's not wrong though. And doing this fake stuttering doesn't really make you look better. Also disagreeing with someone and calling said person out is not being disrespectful either, like you tried to say last page.
