Dunno, for me the main issue is that Doomguy is kinda boring aesthetic-wise given that he is pretty much a futuristic armored soldier when we have Samus and Dark Samus. Other than that I have no issue with him.

That's why I hope classic Doom Slayer is at least an alt, with that cheesy 90s look:

I'd be more interested in how Doom is implemented into Smash than Doom Slayer as a character, assuming they default to the modern space marine look. Hayabusa is much more my cup of tea when it comes to aesthetics and playstyle (I played the hell out of Sheik in Melee as a kid).

I mean, Mania is a prequel to Forces, so I'd assume Classic Sonic was planned to be in there for a while, as both stories revolve around the Phantom Ruby, and Mania ends on Classic's departure.

Now, the tie in was planned, but whether or not he was planned in being in the overall story of Forces was planned is a mystery.

Meanwhile Shazam! pretty much remains as my favorite modern DC movie (And favorite as a whole) to this day. Love that movie up there with Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Missing Link, Hobbs & Shaw, Crawl and Spider-Man: Far From Home as among my favorites this year.

What I love about the film is its basically Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy put together. Doctor Strange in terms of magic but otherwise Guardians of the Galaxy in terms of tone and humor but unlike an 80's vibe that Guardians has Shazam! instead has that 90's vibe to it.

A perfect blend.
