I think Ryu and Doom have enough aesthetic variety. One's a ninja in feudal Japan while the other is a space marine who fights hellspawns on Mars. One uses guns, the other doesn't. One has the most terrifying monsters to ever be in a video game, and the other has creatures from Hell.
I look at it as Feudal Japan aesthetic and rocking metal space aesthetic. They're just vastly different in every way other than being realistically proportioned men.
