No Competitive for Hero I guess

this guy's hella getting banned. literal RNG in two different ways? that you can't turn off at all? the random crits are just too much, even if his command list gives infinite utility

Hero's moveset looks cool but the fact that so much of it is locked behind a factor completely out of your control and that you can't actually, y'know, just use the move you want to use is pretty disappointing. Oh well, at least gambling is back.

Hero seems incredibly complex, his down-B is all sorts of crazy, it's like they had too many ideas for him, so just packed them all into one move. His mana bar, menu and random crit chance makes him a really good representation of oldschool JRPGs, I'm pretty interested in how he's going to work in practice, because he seems like a character where you have to manage a ton of stuff and be really good at reacting on the fly.

His stage is beautiful btw.

Ok so... none of the other Square Mii costumes showed up. This was just content from Dragon Quest.... does this kill costume theory? Like, the purpose of costume theory was do that they could re-release the old costumes along with the company they belong to. But that didn’t happen here so.... i’d say it’s killed.

Hero looks pretty fun! I’m excited to play him tomorrow. (Yes I know he’s available today but no way i’ll Be able to get that update quickly). And the whole presentation was just sort of... surreal. Like, they actually dubbed over those mid fight lines from him and it’s just.... wow. I still don’t really know if I want to stick with this format considering it was basically the same thing as Joker’s anyway. But it was still pretty cool.

Honestly I can't imagine down-b being something competitive players go for too often except when they're desperate or trying to style, generally you don't want to leave things up to Lady Luck if you don't have to.

It is definitely going to produce a ton of salt though. Heck the guy isn't out yet and there's salt all over the place already.

Hero seems like a fun character, although very random with the RPG mechanics going full force this time around.

The spell names are super funny in general, imagine getting killed by a move called Swoosh.

Oh, that's what you meant?

I kind of doubt that too. His down-b is the only move that's dependent on RNG, and I'm sure his Smash Attacks will be serviceable even when they don't crit. He seems like a pretty decent character actually who's capable of both mid-range and long range zoning.
