This is pretty much why I've taken the stance of sheer indifference.

I simply stopped caring about:
1. Melee vs. Brawl vs. Smash 3DS vs. Smash Wii U debates
2. Ganondorf debates
3. Anything regarding competitiveness (not that I cared about this one in the first place)
4. Anything regarding Ridley
5. Anything else that also causes unnecessarily heated debates

Indifference is great and brings me sanity.
