Not much is going on, I guess. To solve this problem, I will type the following: anything new?

If it was the first one, it gets better...
Oh, know am I kidding. The only reason I still like the series is because of ludicrous it is.
I have no idea which one it was. I just remember there was some kid who looked like a young Goku, was unable to break a giant rock, which he breaks by the end of the episode. And that at one point there's a storm and kid goku takes shelter in a cave.

I almost felt like watching through the whole series for the inevitable awesome moment that would be when I come across the episode. Almost.

If you do decide to watch DBZ, do yourself a favor and watch Kai instead of Z. No filler so more concise and easier to follow story (maybe) improved animation, and excellent voice acting.

So I just played about 10-15 matches in Project M with chillindude, yeah

I won about half of them and he said I have a sick Yoshi and I'm happy

Ah alright, thanks for the heads up. Something I was curious about is if DBZ is actually objectively good or not, since it seems a lot of the love the fans have for the series are due to nostalgia, which I obviously don't have.

DBZ's a weird franchise that doesn't make sense. It's a key component of my childhood, and I probably would dislike it like all other anime if I had never seen it.
If it want an unbiased opinion of Dragon Ball, you won't get one from me, is what I'm saying. And with that in mind: DBZ is awesome. Watch it! ;)

There are better manga and anime than DBZ. Just saying.
I like to pay homage to the anime that got me into anime.

Just how there are way better video games than Aladdin on the Sega...but I will always love that game, as it's why I'm here now.

That being said, Naruto got me into manga and ehhh.

I don't like that logic. Assassination Classroom and Soul Eater got me into manga and anime, but I will say that Death Note and FMA Brotherhood are superior in many regards to those (of course, I won't be discrediting the first manga and anime I got into).

I am a Dragon Ball Z fanboy and that is objectively false. :awesome:
Your life lacks some Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Death Note.

Of course, but one can say DBZ is the most overrated.
It is overrated, no doubt about it.

Just like Sword Art Online.

We're talking DBZ? I'm looking forward to the new movie at least. I can still watch most of the series again whenever I'm in the mood, luckily DBZK skips most of the filler. Can't say the same for Xenoverse. Never had much interest in the character creation stuff in most games. I just want more traditional fighting games from the DBZ series again. So here's hoping that the 3DS game heads here.

I'd be even more hype for an new official game along the lines of Super DBZ, or Budokai. But the arena games with like 80 something characters tend to get more hype behind them. But I never got into them. I should try one and see if I like it one of these days.

If you were born in the 90s and you didn't like any of Pokémon, DBZ or Power Rangers, then there's something wrong with you.

It may be average, but I liked it as a kid. I doesn't appeal to me any more as my tastes have shifted, but still, I respect the show.

Well, I guess it's worth giving the series a shot...though I'd like to hear the opinions of someone that's watched DBZ but not in their childhood therefore having no nostalgia with it, if there is anyone.

I have actually always been interested in Fullmetal Alchemist but when I was introduced to it I wasn't ready for it.
But I have no interest in Death Note.
Death Note is just amazing. It's a must-watch for anyone interested in anime.

And, of course, better than what DBZ has to offer.

It doesn't have episodes where half the time characters are screaming while shooting huge-ass, planet-destroying energy beams. :troll:

Also, stop provoking the DBZ fans.
Provoking people is one of my ideas of fun.

No, seriously. You're insulting my childhood for no good reason.
I get you don't like Dragon Ball. But that's no reason to talk about how terrible it is just to piss off the fans in this thread. I'm sorry for thinking that's kind of an unnecessarily **** thing to do.

Anime talk, eh?
The anime I've enjoyed so far the most is definetly Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.
The pop culture references it has is just too amazing for my eyes and ears.
Also... It has one of the best soundtracks i've ever heard.
And I love how cartoony it looks despite it being an anime.

I remember watching Pokémon like crazy when I was a kid, but I know that anime is nothing special compared to others I've watched.

Take off the nostalgia goggles. :troll:

But seriously, you're being too sensitive. >_> If you're getting riled up at some stranger on the Internet saying that DBZ is nothing special (no, just because people watched that as kids doesn't make it necessarily better), I shudder to think at what would be your reaction to real problems.

Lighten up.

I talk **** about stuff I myself watched as a kid. Namely, the Sonic X and Pokémon anime.
