i don't get why brackets aren't rigged more for matches people wanna see... especially when there are tournies every week in so cal and it is the same like top few competing... nor cal is hella against for some reason

that's not why the rankings have meaning at all and that actually happens all the time

recently lovage and pnoy beat zhu, you can't argue that people didn't talk about it or weren't surprised by that

macd and alex19 beating joe

fly beating me at chatsworth

every one of these except you vs fly is just the other person playing bad

which is (one reason) why this is a silly PR; there's no substance behind the hype

sure, you could play it that way

although not playing bad =/= being good
case in point: pnoy

but hype is better deserved when the people on your PR are getting better instead of ranked players being inconsistent at small tournaments

when you highlight isolated losses like this (or if they are reflected on the rankings), it makes socal out to be a region where there are a lot of upsets, when actually the skill gap is still enormous (compare lovage's or my performance at genesis to joey/zhu's)

and although that's technically "right" by the rules of the rankings, it's inaccurate to hype up your players based on bad losses

hopefully that made some sense

If you make the rankings a little bigger it's more interesting to see who would fill up the 11-15 spot

nah, you see, that's why rankings dont really matter if your scene is small

in a small scene, the people who want to get good are gonna get good on their own. in fact, that's the only way to get better.

the people who say to themselves, "oh man, i'm gonna use the rankings as motivation to get better" will only be motivated for a short period of time, until the adrenaline wears off and they hit their wall and that is that

just look at places like hawaii and washington and etc. the rankings rarely change, the best stay the best, no one ever improves. that's why we laugh at them. (<3333 washington)

form your own opinions based on what you see

thats kinda why I don't have much of an opinion on EC players
