i played brawl today. honestly wasn't that bad, though it didn't exactly give me motivation to get better at it either

i ****ed my body clock this summer. now i cant fall asleep until 3-4 am. sometimes i just crash onto my bed at 10pm and wake up at 4am though. it really sucks for school, cuz i have to get up at 7:30. its only 2 days a week, but staying awake in class is so hard.

i was boxing yesterday and i realized it's a lot like smash: be patient, find one opening, end the stock. protect yourself, find one opening, end the stock. the only difference is you gotta pace yourself.

melee teaches life lessons.

Smash (or most fighting games in general) can relate to many other sports, especially martial arts. Judo is a great example.

I screwed myself over this summer too. I used to go to sleep at like 6am in the morning. Yesterday (first day of school), I couldn't sleep early b/c my system was screwed up. And seeing as how I had class at 8:30 (meaning I had to wake up at 7:00), there was no way I was going to go to bed at 6 b/c sleeping for one hour is whack. So instead, I chose not to sleep. I went through all my classes without any sleep whatsoever. It was the worst feeling ever.

On the bright side, I slept at around 12ish - 1:00 that night, so my system kinda went back to normal. Your situation doesn't seem as bad as mine though. At least you get about 3-4 hours of sleep. The lack of sleep should help you go to sleep earlier the next day. That way, your body clock would be back to normal (assuming you don't push yourself to stay awake like you did this summer).

actually sleeping for an hour is good. at that point if you're up all night any short sleep is gonna make you feel like **** when you wake up, but it's been proven 45-60 minute naps (45 min preferably) improve energy / work ethic.

it takes days / weeks for your body system to get back to normal fwiw.

What's your source for this information? I wanna find out more so I can know how to counterbalance my occasional all-nighters.

Oh yeah, and you can add me to the list. I decided to start playing Melee again.

i also hear sleeping in three hour periods helps a lot.

something about 3 hours being one full REM cycle, and your body wakes up better if not waken up during an REM cycle...

so try to get 3-6-9 hours of sleep, someone told me if you're going to get 7 hours, just wait it out til the 6.

I might not go to mio's on friday, actually
since oceanside is about three hours in the other direction on the next morning

maybe it'd be better to have people stay over at my house/pick people up the night of and stay somewhere closer that night

EDIT: actually lucky, norwalk is right on the way. . . . .
