Yeah, you're definitely a troll. My only motivation to play this game is to get others to ragequit. Therefore I will pick the lamest character, abuse their lamest move, make my opponent ragequit, move on to the next noob and repeat until no one plays online anymore. I don't expect this to take longer than 10 minutes.
QFT.But... I like all of the characters. I can honestly say there isn't a character on the roster that I hate. At least not the character themselves.... Good Marth players leave a bad taste in my mouth.
I can't really choose a character based off of being a fan, because I'm a fan of all the characters! So I just use lots of people, and I get really good with the ones that fit my play style.
because the whole point of Smash bros. is to fight using your favorite Nintendo character. why would somebody WANT to use a character they don't like just because they're good? thats shallow, and ridiculous...I'm not quite sure why so many people put emphasis on using your favorite characters as opposed to using the best characters.
Why NOT use the best characters? As long as you're having fun, it's all good.
Everyone will agree that any character can win, but it is an undeniable and obvious fact that some characters are better than others. This was true for Smash 64 and Melee and will hold true for Brawl. Thus tiers will exist. It is that simple.I'd rather use characters I like, I don't believe any character is bad. I think any character can beat any other character with the right strategy. That's why I hate all that tier nonsense.![]()
When it comes to COMPETITIVE play, liking a character or not is of little consequence. It's all about the moveset. If you're just playing with friends then fine do what you want. But if you really want to win, it makes sense to give yourself the best chance by using the best characters.because the whole point of Smash bros. is to fight using your favorite Nintendo character. why would somebody WANT to use a character they don't like just because they're good? thats shallow, and ridiculous...
seriously, if they wanted you to use the characters that are good, they would have made up characters for the game instead of using Nintendo characters...
IMHO, yes I would. Sure, they're not as shallow as say the idiots who start competitive play and automatically assume that they'll win because they choose Sheik (in fact they're much less shallow) But since even a drunken monkey can master Marth in like ten minutes.Would you call Mew2King, Ken, Azen or PC Chris "shallow and ridiculous" for using high tier characters primarily?
Using low tiers at a competitive level is admirable, but you still haven't given me a good reason why one shouldn't use a character simply because they're good. If money is on the line, why NOT use the best characters?IMHO, yes I would. Sure, they're not as shallow as say the idiots who start competitive play and automatically assume that they'll win because they choose Sheik (in fact they're much less shallow) But since even a drunken monkey can master Marth in like ten minutes.
But if they were still the best as they were even if they mained someone like Melee Kirby, then....
*whistles*
Hog dawg! I'll have much more respect for them. (And I had a truckload of respect for them
anyway)
So everyone should avoid good characters just because their good? What kind of loser mentality is that? That's like saying a sports team shouldn't sign great players because "they're too good". High tier characters are those with the greatest potential. They allow the game to be played at the most competitive level. If everyone avoided using the best characters because it's "cowardly", Smash would never have become as competitive as it has.To me, those who just go looking for a powerful or comfortable (the same thing) characters are way coward and have little heart.
This makes no sense to me. You liked them, but you stop using them because they're good. High tier characters are not unfair. Why do you restrict yourself with this code of honor that says that you mustn't use better characters? If using a high tier character is what it takes to win, then why not? No one will hate you for it.To be honest, on Melee I gave up on Sheik, Fox and Peach which I liked a lot because they were top tier. I didn't like the fact to have such an advantage and win because of that.
