Doing semi link dittos with spam (Link vs y link lol) is mad fun. All you hear is "Ha" in low and high pitches and many *whooshes* and *ploops*.

God ****, I miss melee.

i fail to see how running around a bunch of pokemon spamming lasers is elegant, you're just gay. LMFAO @ talking about finesse and ****, seriously, you're just running around hitting B, not exactly an artful maneuver

...that's like saying all you do when you play any videogame is press buttons. If that was true that would mean that if I am good at Melee I am automatically good at Halo 2 because my skill in pressing buttons will transfer from one game to the other. That's obviously nonsense. I'm not just "running around hitting B." I bet if Inui's Fox tried that on Poke Floats he'd lose to Vidjo or Chu. There's a certain degree of skill and intelligence required to effectively camp that stage and the display of that skill and intelligence looks much better then camping in Brawl. The reason it looks better is because in Brawl you don't need to think very much about how you throw a projectile, you just keep throwing them. Who cares if you miss or if you get hit? You aren't going to take much damage. You aren't going to get comboed.

Spammerer you aren't special. Anyone can learn how to spam lasers and win on pokefloats. Stop acting like its some difficult maneuver that only the great Spammerer can pull off. No one else does it because no one else is that gay. Seriously, do you really enjoy using the same move over and over?

MD/VA and Cali need to wake up. MD/VA isnt the center of smash anymore so get over urself. No one cares what y'all think especially in melee. Tristate got the **** on lock.

When did I say I was the ONLY one who can? I didn't. ALL I said was that camping on Poke Floats looks nicer than camping in Brawl, which it does. Learn how to read properly.

When a semi big melee tournament gets 46 and a local Maryland tournament gets 60 for brawl, you know thats just sad. We have roughly 2-3 tournaments a month for brawl, all which have exceeded 46. And we need to wake up? C'mon man. Melee is dead.

EDIT: spam my bad. It just sounded like you prided yourself in camping that hard. **** is weak

truthful fact is truthful,

but melee ain't dead yet. The community is becoming more refined. There will sooner/later be tourneys where all 50 are good. I'll take that all day over a tourney with 160 ppl playing a bad game.

but thats just me. I guess the money is in brawl tho so w/e. We all know what the better game is

I really disagree with this. Sure, Melee's taking a popularity hit from Brawl's appearance, but I don't see people traveling for Brawl. People are really committed to Melee. They eat, sleep, and breath Melee. They see a tournament that's 5 hours away and get totally stoked. Sure, we don't get local scrubs at Melee tournies because it's not the trendy game anymore. But a year from now, neither will Brawl. And then people will be faced with the decision of whether they want to travel for a game where they might trip into an Ike fsmash ftl, or a game that has time and time again continued to amaze us all with it's seemingly endless depth. Who knows, maybe yall in MD/VA will break Brawl open into a real fighting by then, but until I see any real depth to the game, I'm not going to believe that a year from now, people won't be back to playing Melee.

The pittsburgh scene isn't big at all, that's why the turnout wasn't that big. A melee tournament in the east NJ area or phili could get 70-80 people without a problem.

I don't know if that's actually you posting travis, but if it is that's borderline disappointing. Let people play what they want to have fun. Melee is obviously more fun as a game, but the Brawl community is better/bigger. It's basically about what you care about more, playing a game for the substance of the game, or playing a game for the amount of players/community.

I like both, so I'll play both games. I play melee because I'm in love with it and the game has seemingly unlimited potential and skill. I play Brawl because there are TONS of scrubs and it's fun to see what will happen in a new game.

The bottom line is this:

Melee is amazing, but old
Brawl sucks ***, but is new

Fox is gay in melee, Snake is gay in brawl

I'm not saying I hate melee. **** is amazing. But I don't want to play a game that came out in 01. I'm not bashing those who play melee either. It just reminds me of how you see a room full of guys still playing Tekken trying to host tournaments with maybe 20 people at most.


And wtf @ saying brawl isn't fun. Attendance does mean something, but I wouldn't go tournaments if I hated the game. Saying either game is more fun than the other is a matter of opinion.

LMFAO @ people saying **** like "the love of the game". I like a lot of video games. When I played the same game for 7 years straight, it started to get old. The VAST majority of people who are pushing for Melee are people who started playing it within the past few years. I've been regularly attending tourneys for literally 7 years, Melee got old for me. That's why I prefer Brawl.

And seriously, people pushing for Melee are the ones starting these arguments. Do you think we who prefer Brawl really care if you guys wanna play Melee still? Honestly. You're the ones telling us we're playing a ****ty game, etc. Just play your game, let us play ours.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure tristate's the best at Melee now. Mainly because almost everyone in MD/VA stopped playing Melee. Congratulations? I'm gonna wait till Michael Jordan's 80, and then beat him 1 on 1 and claim basketball superiority
