can someone put up the team finals for melee or any of the team matches cuz i know there was a lot esp on the main TV, and I know someone recorded some of my team matches vs Sliq/Jiano cuz I looked back and saw it.

edit - the only md/va ppl good at brawl are azen chillin forte and greg from what i know, while northeast has me pc cort and bum, but cort isn't tristate so i guess he wouldn't count. You can't just count our region out chillin you haven't played them, PC and especially Cort are good. But ya for the most part tristate sucks at brawl, but your region does too besides the people i just named, but again Cort doesn't count since he's from CT.

Melee is a better game, Brawl's new though so there's still stuff to learn but there's still A LOT to learn in melee and melee has more stuff to learn because of better game mechanics. I've also been playing for 7 years, more hours than any of you if you count alone time. I don't care if you've been in tourneys longer because I've played the game longer and gotten arguably farther in it than anyone in the 3 years I have played it, but i still think the game SSBM could last far far far far far longer if Brawl didn't come out. Melee is one of those games you can ALWAYS get better at, and by great margins too. At least that's what I believe, there is just no motivation to play (practice) it anymore because of Brawl's bigger scene now (half of which are new ppl or people who weren't good at melee, the other half are familiar faces)


final edit - I might move in with vidjo in ohio for college at ITT tech, I'm not sure yet but I'm like 50/50 on it and if I do do it, it (LOL DO DO IT IT) will probably start around when summer ends, so I would no longer be EC if that was the case :(

why do u have a problem with ppl telling you ur playin a ****ty game. it is ****ty. We have had to deal with the numerous amounts of brawlf@gs telling us **** like this(for months on end) so no johns. we def are the minority. Them MJ references are getting old as well u should be more creative to try to explain a point and I didnt mean tristate being the best, but being the center of smash, theres a difference.

Really, Soul Caliber 3 has tripping, air tripping, and no combos? I didn't know that. Comparing Melee to Brawl is like comparing WC3 to WoW. They're different genres. Brawl is a party game and Melee is a fighting game.

In the SC series each game got progressively worse. In SC 3 you can be punished for doing a guard parry making the best defensive tactic in the game entirely useless. There are also glitches that made the game a joke and gave characters the ability to do heinous combos. And of course the game was horribly imbalanced.

The community lasted a year.

I wonder how long it will take SWF?

Obviously Melee is more competitive than Brawl but I still honestly find Brawl fun too. I'm having fun playing Brawl competitively and I will continue to do so while tournies are still consistently available. If the tournies do die out like other say, I'll be all over Melee again but right now I'm on Brawl's d!ck no homo.

@ Teh Spamerer: I don't know where you came outta nowhere and started hating on Brawl so horribly hard to even a greater level than Scar. It makes no sense and don't give me that air tripping blah blah tripping nonsense cause you knew about that before you ever played Brawl.

I dont understand why people are pessimistic about Melee.

If you want to follow the crowd go ahead and play brawl, you'll PROBABLY have less fun. We'll play Melee reguardless, of whether people want to or not...

This is yet another case where people are giving Brawl too much of a chance to live in the competitive community even though it doesn't deserve it, when people are not giving Melee a chance...

I didn't know about air tripping before I played Brawl. I also assumed I didn't know how to combo due to lack of experience. I was wrong, the game just doesn't let you combo. I don't like how if my opponent is spamming fsmash I can only deal like 10%. If someone is spamming fsmash they deserve to go from 0-->death. In tournament, I switched to Zelda from MK when playing ROT8's G&W. I couldn't get through his back air so I just had to stand right outside of its range and fsmash. I had literally 0 other options. He also couldn't approach with anything else so the majority of the matches were just me slowly walking outside of the bair range until I was certain I could fsmash through the next one then preying I guessed when he would airdodge right. That was very boring and very stupid.

Anyway game that actively tries to limit depth and the ascension of good players is not a good game period. Competitively or otherwise.

Also the game punishes you for hitting forward on the controller.

You clarified this well.

I just wanted to know what caused the drastic change in opinion.

I find competitive Brawl to many times become spacing one smash attack over and over until it hits and get the kill. But this really only happens when my opponent and I are at high percents on our last stocks. But this also does happen pretty often, but not often enough to make me wanna stop playing and realize all the other fun things like getting 2 knees off in a row or DK dittos.

People need to try DK dittos. Really gay but funny at the same time.

The point is that you CAN'T punish me very hard if I'm spamming smashes. I don't care if smart people won't spam smashes I just don't like how that if you DO choose to spam smashes you aren't going to be punished much for it.

EDIT: yeah STFU pocky.

Also, on the melee vs brawl drama that erupted here. I just have to say that brawl's about as deep as a puddle. I've went even with people who play a ton more of me, and i'm not better than I was on day 1. I don't see how anyone can enjoy this game. I can see you being bored of 7 years of smash chillin, but why not move onto something exciting/fun? LOL. Brawl's so boring its painful. If you don't find it boring then god ****, more power to you I guess.

My burnt brawl disc broke. I need it cause my little brother/sisters still like it, does anyone know where to d/l an ISO for it fast? Is that allowed on this site? To link me? If not and you know aim me. Or, they are SOL, cause I don't feel like searching for an ISO and burning it. I don't' care if its Japanese or English btw. Single layer preferred, although dual layered ISO is fine.

Actually, forget that this is better yet. A melee ISO? Lol. My melee disc gives me too many errors now, and my wiikey can play gc games, so if anyone knows of a good fast melee ISO download that'd be hot. 1.0 preferred, but the other version are fine except PAL.

I got a melee ISO waaay back when, i even tried it on an emulator. I got it off torrent sites, so just start looking there... It probably wont be fast.
