You know what would be awesome? If all this was a late April Fools joke, and every song in the game was done by Journey.
you know what would be awesome?
The Japanese don't even celebrate April fools.
Oh wait they don't! Awesome!

I would love for Snake's stage to have one of the MGS themes. Or even Snake Eater. There's really no memorable in-game music from the MGS series for me, which confuses me as to why the MGS soundtracks are so revered across the gaming community. There's the alert theme, but that's mostly because I sucked at the game and was chased every 5 seconds.

Perhaps we can add to the list of song samples for some of the composers? From different genres of work they've done. [at least for the ones that have worked on multiple projects.]
I only meant my list to include just one song from each composer, so I won't be adding any more, but you could always post more here, since it's the discussion of the composers.

I would like for whether or not Menu 1 will be only for Battlefield or if it will play on the menu, too, to be known. Any info on this?

Song from the second trailer? Unlikely, I think that one's exclusively for the trailer, considering it sounds too much like battle music for the menu and has parts that seem to have been made to fit with the trailer ( it sounds funny during the Wario scene ).
The song is definitely only to be played on Battlefield, though. It's only called Menu because it's a remix of the old song. It would sound unprofessional and awkward to have the same song play in the menu and a stage.

Dude, that's a lot of f***ing composers! I look forward to some awesome music!

I'm actually suprised by some of the composers that are part of the game; it kind of leads me to assume that certain characters will be in the game...

But I won't just to conclusions.

I took a look on most of the composers' blogs and they were asked personally by Sakurai to do arranges of "certain tunes", and invite the readers to visit www.smashbros.com and keep a track on the updates.

This is gonna be big for sure, all of them seem to be very impressed by the amount of great talents joined together.

KUDOS! This thread was very well made, and was added to the list of threads in the .:: Official Brawl Info Thread ::. Check it out in my signature, the link is there. Also, post if you think it deserves the sticky title.

This will be where most of the Music discussion takes place. For example, the next time Sakurai posts a song, we'll be talking about it here. And most likely the composer who made it.

Right now were pretty much discussing the composers in general. Mentioning our favorites and how much we are looking forward to their works for Brawl. Also, many are providing additional samples of their work.

Oh, that's why I was confused. I didn't remember that last line.

Well, I'd bet a pretty penny it is played on both the menu and Battlefield. Menu01... to me that entails there will be more than one menu song, so there's no need to worry about that, but when talking about the song under the musicians section, he says it was one of the songs we heard the most in Melee and will be the same with Brawl. No matter what you do when you start up Smash, you start on the Menu. *shrug*

It seems kind of trivial. I'm more interested in the composers themselves. This soundtrack will have the most epic and the best soundtrack to ever soundtrack a soundtrack... ever

No, no, no. I'm absolutely certain that it's only called Menu 1 because it's a remix of the song that was called Menu 1 in Melee. There were two in Melee, too. And playing the Menu song in a battle stage would just be awkward, so it won't be done.

On the other hand, why am I arguing about this again?

Lol @ Fawriel.

Well, if that's what they did for Melee, I guess it makes sense they would do the same, but personally I don't think it would be awkward, let alone noticeable while playing (unless you listened for it), if they used the song for both. An epicly awesome song is epicly awesome no matter where it is =D

Menu1 song is brilliant but around the end it does get quite a bit chaotic don't you agree?

Very True words.

By the way, Yoko Shimomura is definitely my favourite now, no matter who the other guys are. I was thinking about how that one battle song by her is awesome, but then remembered another ingenious soundtrack.
The soundtrack of an obscure little Squaresoft RPG called Live-A-Live.
Turns out she was the composer of THAT, too. xD

http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/3309 Here's the complete soundtrack for anyone interested...

This is the boss battle song. The first scenario I chose was Kung Fu, which had some cute, almost friendly Chinese music... you can imagine how much I jumped when this one suddenly exploded from my speakers.

Oh, and..

Hopefully they will give us some more music maybe during the E3 trailer (which there better be!)
