We'll take everything onto the roof under a massive umbrella with some kind of inbuilt water sprinkler system, and 6 - 8 supermodels in bikinis will stand all around us fanning us down and provide us with regular refreshments and dances

I'm not entirely sure Smash is really necessary with that kind of setup =/

No, you're of a caucasian decent
Example of how poor spelling can ruin even casual racism. You just sound like you think all white people are decent :p

alright there's gonna be brawl at this too

we only need 1/2 of the t.vs to be fair for tournament matches for each game, and as long as the t.vs are numbered and checked the tournaments will finish on time/early

I also lost £100 from separating the events and having s*** turnouts -_- but really brawl also needs another event this summer, cant just leave it out. Sorry for the short notice guys

But this is only a one day tournament, are you gonna ditch doubles? I don't see the brawl turnout being that high this short notice. Brawlers should stop relying on you imo. If money is a problem, how about increasing venue fees? Also there will be a lot more ppl at this than the monthly cos it's the national before the international tournament where everyone wants to come and practice.

I just don't see how this is beneficial if it means sacrificing doubles.

If money is a problem as I said, I think the better solution would be to increase the venue fee, I've always thought we had it a bit cheap anyway, and there will be a lot more entrants. If you feel sorry for the brawlers, as anaky put it, they can run their own events

I prefer both games being there tamoo

there are reasons for this:

1) money
2) turnout
3) brawlers only need up to 10 t.vs for it to finish as proven
4) melee shouldnt need more than 10 t.vs as well
5) it was fun before, the split was kinda a stupid idea and caused by rage
6) Doubles + Singles will finish if we are strict with the running of the tournaments
7) more people can attend as both games will be there rather than separate

increasing the venue fee is a bad idea, no one wants to pay more than £3/4 on top of £2 for singles and doubles

cheaper entrants + more players from both games = better

We've seriously gotta stop saying 'if we keep organised' and actually deliver for once and that's the harsh truth. We have never been able to combine singles and doubles for both games successfully, and I would be hugely gutted if doubles didn't happen because for the xth time, organisation hasn't been to scratch.

I fully sympathize that £100 is a lot of money to lose, but that was the cos of the mistake to split monthly tournaments up, rather than national tournaments.

But hey, if you say singles and doubles doubles is possible, please tell us what steps you intend to take to make to make sure it runs 100% efficiently and hopefully we can help

No offence is meant but I would like it if, for some reason, we don't manage to do doubles then we start looking at other things, such as splitting communities and raising venue fees, £5 venue fee for a national isn't outrageous. I'm pretty sure that's what it was at PH2

You edited after I posted lol

and still you're dancing around the whole organisation issue by just saying 'it will be stricter'. How so? It has been said that it will be stricter before and nothing has changed so I just wanna know what will be different this time.

I'm really not trying to be s prick here, I'd be 'content' with brawl being there if the tournament is actually run well which would be a huge time consumer on your behalf. I've just been disillusioned by the number of times I've looked forward to doubles, the form of game I prefer, to only be dissapointed on the day, and i know I'm not on my own with this view.

I just want to be reassured lol

*** BRAWL BEING AT THIS EVENT.

This is just gonna spoil the entire event.
The last Monthlies were poor cos they were around a bad time, this is a UK TOURNAMENT.
People will come to it.....and I know for one I am already put off from coming to this with brawl being there, sorry but it's true.

Doubles will be gone....and NOOO you won't fix up on the day and run things smooth.
So just admit this is taken away doubles.

All of this.

Charles don't put Brawl in a NATIONAL TOURNAMENT because a LONDON MONTHLY did not have a good turnout.

You're spoiling the potential that GT3 had and the hype it has by putting brawl in there, fair enough about putting it in a London Monthly, but you're actually dumb if you put it at GT3.

And singles National Tournament £2 entry.....seriously .....what a **** pot.

well this is £5 entry for both singles + doubles, Meh brawl can always wait till a monthly. I'll try get something sorted for the next joint event but it has to be after SNY. Brawl just had their tournament and 3 weeks is really short notice so the next joint one will be good times

Sorry brawlers, you got time to practise and be ready for the next tournament though, good luck at bushido too!

tamoo its definitely possible, i just ran the brawl event with 7 setups and finished by 5 pm. the only thing is the outcome may be different with both running at once (with doubles) since it'll be pretty hectic :s and its really short notice for brawl >_>

Also, Only reason SmashGT 2 was successfully ran (singles + doubles) was because of Aiko.

will: You probs got the best pool possible last time lol, no johns

Alex: Factor in the fact that this is a national tournament and could well gather 40 ppl for melee, and then to have the brawlers too, to say this would be stretched would be an understatement. Anyway, it's all irrelevant now so no need to complain anymore

Yeah I nearly went through, you won 1 more game than me which is why you went through lol.

I said the whole LC crew, cal and brad got hard pools, like you said my pool wasn't really hard and anyone could of gone through (although Tuna *****). My pool in January was dumb as **** as well lol.

ty Charles I'm trying my hardest to get better, it's hard when there isn't any really good players like yourself and prof near you and you can only train with your crew. <_<

Although I must say Brado, Calzum and even Marni (brawler but plays melee with us at fests) are improving with me as well.
