Voted for Chase for the inconsistencies in transformation characters (Ganondorf and Ganon being separate), and for Dark Matter over Bandana Dee. I used to think that Dee wasn't anything special, but it seems that he'll be a consistent character from now on.
Sorry to do it though. Loved your Bowser/Dry Bowser combo.

I've even checked and all votes are fair,
my guess is a bunch of guests and/or non contestant users came in and voted for him, this isn't just a strictly user based game, guests can come in (though they can't post, since you know they don't have accounts)

You should have kept Goroh over Wolf... That sucks, I thought you were one of the biggest threats in this game.

First of all, the cuts:

I cut Zoroark for the recently revealed ninja frog Greninja due to him being more popular.
A small second cut: I cut the Chorus Men for Marshal.

Now, the additions:
Added Bandanna Dee, Saki, Captain Rainbow, Andy, and Mega Man.

New Series: Sin and Punishment, Captain Rainbow, Advance Wars, Mega Man.

Edit: Once again the new roster is below in this thread.

Ok that new rule is a big pain. Why? Because no Ike, which means no Micaiah. No Sonic, which means no too obscure third-parties. No Toon Link, Jiggs, ICs, or Lucario so no safeness. So what did I do? I made a one BIG risk which I may end up switching.


Cuts: Viridi and G-Ham

I cut the two above because Viridi was getting me votes even though I love her (I'll bring her back soon). And G-Ham was considered to be a flavor of the day.



Newcomers:
Greninja: I wanted Eevee here, but I had too many 1st gens, so I went with a guy from a new gen that a few others already had on their rosters
Masked Link: Well I couldn't have Toon Link, or Young Link so this is for sure the next best thing
Jill: A nice obscure IP and also adds yet another female to my roster
Saki: I should have had him in here much earlier. Took longer than I had thought.
Captain Rainbow: Ayumi was going to be my Japan only rep, but then people started to add him to there rosters. He was going to be added later, but it seemed good to do it now.
Mega Man: It is time for third parties, and he is needed.
Banjo and Kazooie: In my thoughts, this is a huge risk. But I know if Rare was still partnered with Nintendo he'd already have been in Brawl.

Medusa: While I would've liked to add a character with a bit more personality like TLMC did with Viridi, I settled on Medusa, because she is just more important to the series.
Lyn: Important to the series, as she starred in the first overseas Fire Emblem (if I remember correctly).
Robin: I cut Chrom because Lyn is another sword-user. I wanted someone in to represent Awakening, and Robin fit the bill.
Andy: I've somehow forgotten, until now, to add Advanced Wars.
Wii Fit Trainer: Represents one of Nintendo's best selling titles and system.

And I'd like to explain Sylveon because I haven't yet.
Sylveon was used as the "poster-boy" for the fairy type. He/she is an Eevee evolution, which are all among the most popular Pokemon, and Sylveon may be the most popular of the 8. A rather small detail, but choosing Sylveon over Gardevoir keeps the Pokemon from sharing any one type.

And SOMEDAY I'll add in third parties.

So I'm going to be without Lucas, Ike, and Jiggs for a while. Could have been worse, I nearly didn't have Dorf or Sonic last round.

Zoroark: Replaced with the confirmed Greninja.
Chrom: Replaced with Robin for additional variety, even though I don't care for Robin.

Bandana Dee: Felt like Kirby can have four at this point.
Dark Samus: Metroid deserves three now, and this feels like the best choice.
Marshal: Rhythm Heaven is one of the bigger franchises that I hadn't added yet.
Mii: Even though I really don't like them, they're pretty noteworthy. They also represent the Mii-based games as a whole rather than just Wii Fit.
Mega Man: Wanted the other confirmed third party now.

Had I survived, I would have used this icon for Ganondorf/Ganon. So people who have him (@ Smasher 101 and @ The Light Music Club ) you may want to change it to this icon, as the art styles aren't as conflicting as those in the icons you are using.

not slots,
that's the difference, they can't be added as slots when they weren't

So to sum everything up:
Cut: Gardevoir
New: Ashley, Starfy, Mallo, Duck Hunt Dog, Dark Samus, Chibi Robo
Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, and Charizard don't have their own slots anymore.
Greninja, Sceptile, Ganon, and Vaati aren't cut anymore.

If people think Vaati w/o Toon Link is a problem, read this:

Well, to be fair, Vaati is a Zelda villain, and not a Toon Zelda villain. There's no such thing as a separate Toon series, like there is for say... Paper Mario. Which I think is solidified by the fact he's represented with a triforce icon identical to the rest of the Zelda cast.
Wind Waker has 2 DS sequels, and there's a separate 4 swords trilogy on GBA and GC, but it's not an official side-series, it's simply a few Zelda games with a unique art-style It's still called Legend of Zelda, and in-game the hero is called Link, not Toon Link.

It makes 100% sense to me, you don't need a 2nd Link clone just to add the 2nd most important Zelda villain-
Especially after a round where we had to remove ten characters, duplicate character clones seem unnecessary. But 5 Zelda slots does seem necessary. And regarding importance to the series after Link, Zelda, Ganon, and Ganondorf-- well, it would be Impa, but after her it would be Vaati. I only skipped Impa due to her fighting style being Sheik with a bit of Zelda. Uniqueness is important too.
