Bro it'd better be worth the wait (As in a third Kid Icarus rep)
Yes, that was the character I was worried about. But it's there. I got your back
The roster will most likely be edited onto this post in about... 10 minutes.
Ok, here it is. No, it's not something special. That's not why posting it got pushed back. That was just... eh, my business. :3
Alright, y'know how I said I was only removing Toad and Skull Kid for one round, and that I would add them back now?
Well, I've ben particularly interested in Vaati lately, and while his games weren't as big, his roles were bigger in those games. They're both villains that have been in 3 games, both pretty popular. But Vaati has actually been the final boss twice, which it seemed like Skull Kid was going to be in Majora's Mask but.... he wasn't. So I think Vaati is a bit more important, both are plenty unique. I'll definitely add Skull Kid back later, but now that I'm too afraid to remove Toon Link due to him having a good amount of fans here, I'll expand on his games. So, that's why I have him instead, if anybody is wondering.
Also, I have posted a roster icon in the roster maker thread, and while it got 3 likes, it wasn't made.
The concept was Red or Blue with Charizard, Sceptile, and Greninja. And since it didn't happen, I'm keeping Red with Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. I mean, as long as Charizard is here it's good, right?
I doubt anything like that would make or break a roster, I just wanted to bring that up too because, like returning Skull Kid, I said I was going to do it this round a while ago.
Now to analyze the newcomers:
Toad- Yea, you guys know how iconic he is. I don't really have to explain him, but I wanted the 3d world cast, and I got it, and that makes me happy, so... yea:
[collapse=The 3D World Cast is complete!]
[/collapse]
So that was another reason for him, but I probably didn't need one.
Vaati- He was the final boss of Minish Cap and Four Swords, and was the main villain of Four Sword Adventures, but ended up being Ganon's puppet, so, not the final boss. Well... y'know how many characters have been the final boss of multiple games in the Zelda series other than Ganon/dorf and Vaati? NONE.
So... he's pretty important, and I'd like to see what they use for his moveset. After 3 boss fights and even more encounters, the diversity of possibilities for a character rises. And I'd say he has some interesting moves.
Dixie Kong- I don't think this one needs much explanation. From what I remember, you guys told me DK is the 4th most important Nintendo series. So I represented it the 4th most, no more, no less. And it wasn't just representation, the character herself has become very iconic, she's been in old games, new games, and she's had her own games. She's a big deal. Definitely the 4th of the series, right after K Rool. And I love her character. I found Diddy and Dixie to be very lovable in Tropical Freeze with those adorable idle animations they had... awww...
Porky- Man, I sure wish this is who Sakurai went with in Brawl. He's one of the most unique choices. I wonder what they'd do with that mech.... hmmm....
Well, I sure don't know much about Earthbound/Mother, but I know enough to conclude that it should have 2 characters on a 55 character roster, I mean, I've expanded so many other series. I didn't want to go with Lucas yet though. I don't feel like I should add a clone just because Sakurai did it. Lucas isn't a recurring character, and sure, he's the main protagonist of his game, but we already have a main antagonist of a Mother game that does the same basic attacks. How about a RECURRING VILLAIN?... Ooo... That interest me a bit more, tbh. And I hope you guys think so too.
Don't get the impression that I don't like Lucas and I won't put him on my roster later, because, if I get a chance to, I will.
Not sure about 3 Mother characters on a 60 character rosters, but that sounds fine for a 65 one. Anyways, he's my pick.
And you know who's even more unique than Porky? My "surprise" choice of the round:
(But it shouldn't be too surprising, I mean, it makes a lot of sense...)
Medusa- We have Pit, the Link of the series, Palutena, the Zelda of the series, and now Medusa, the Ganon/dorf of the series. Yes, she's the main villain of Kid Icarus. Being the only recurring important one. I mean, is anybody going to argue I should have put Eggplant Wizard? Nah... I'd argue Medusa is an even MORE unique villain than Vaati and Porky. Just imagine turning opponents to stone as part of a moveset... wow.... pretty awesome. I've also seen a moveset for her that was almost completely based around her staff using tether-like affects... I think. There's a lot to work with. And to me, she'll always be the 3rd most important character of the series, and as much as I love Palutena (she's my most wanted Smash 4 newcomer)... I do think Medusa is slightly more unique than her. But both have a lot of diverse options and would make great characters. Viridi and Hades would too, but was hesitant to add them before I added who I consider the next major character of the series, Medusa. If Viridi and Hades had recurred like Medusa, I might have chosen them over her, but for now, just these 3, who all individually deserve it in my eyes. Plus, Smash is lacking females and villains
and sideboobs! So you can help both out with a female villain! Yes!
Did I say 10 minutes? Well, I guess I meant 45 minutes. Oops. Wow, I sure can write a lot about so little.
