Smash 4 Newcomers aren't allowed, restating. I want to see unique picks so not everyone is saying that a roster is too safe or too out there.

Meowth: Extremely iconic character from an important series.
Ridley: Same as Meowth.
Isaac: Main character of a semi important series with high requests.
Shulk: Same as Isaac.
Balloon Fighter: Unique retro.

Due to the rules of this round, many beloved and promised characters couldn't make it. Sorry about that, will correct ASAP.

King K. Rules In - That's right, I chose King K. Rool to represent DK in this round. He's the main antagonist, d'oh.
Ridley Clawes All - Ridley is in because of his and Metroid's cultural status in the Nintendoverse, he is highly requested and important to Metroid.
Shulk Smashes In - OK, Shulk replaces Greninja. Xenoblade was a huge hit and Shulk is one of the unrepresented franchises.
Palutena Floats On In - Palutena is the second most major and the recurring assistant to Pit on his adventures, and the secondary protagonist.
Lip Launches In - Lip is my retro choice for a newcomer because of her popularity in Japan and status to Sakurai.

This is likely the end of me, but I went with five new characters to represent five new series. I can already see three of them are popular choices for other peoples rosters, but I think I'm confident in other two not being on anyone else's roster just yet.

Newcomers: Isaac, Andy, Chibi Robo, Shulk, Takamaru
New Series: Golden Sun, Wars, Chibi Robo, Xenoblade, Murasame's Mystery Castle (or whatever)​

Yeah, my sis was going to add Takamaru and Meowth but they were like in every single roster so I suggested adding Muddy Mole and Gardevoir instead.

Additions:

Ridley: Duh.
Isaac: Decently popular, one of the most notable series not already in Smash. Easy choice.
Palutena: I didn't really want to give Kid Icarus a second character before DK and Star Fox, but I decided that I didn't want to add newcomers for those two before the veterans.
Mach Rider: I wanted to add a retro, but Takamaru quite honestly bores me. Mach Rider is my favorite choice for a new retro and no one currently has him.
Lip: ...and I also decided to throw in my second favorite because why not?

Also Considered: Andy, King K. Rool, Shulk

Ok I wanted to have at least two different characters than everyone else. Sorry if pic is too big:

I wanted to go with a kind of balanced roster, having two Japan characters, one character that made his real mark in Europe, a character whose game is popular in USA, UK, and JPN, as well as a fave of the Americans (that isn't Ridley, I actually was gonna have him, but switched to Robin).

Oh, I went for a tetris like theme thanks to having Lip.

Newcomers:
Palutena Graces the Battlefield! - Very wanted character and reps a semi-important series.
Robin Tips the Smash! (Had no idea on this one) - Semi wanted character from a semi-important series.
Donbe + Hikari Banish the Brawlers! - Cool duo and retro rep
Lip Takes Out the Garbage! - Somewhat popular and reps a genre of game that has no rep.
Shulk Hacks Away the Competition! - Popular character and adds in a new series.

Considered: Marshall, Ridley, Krystal, King K Rool, Chrom, Anna, Micaiah and Claus.

Hopefully I can last one more round!

This is a little difficult for me, as I did have a lot of franchises already represented.
I cannot add Toad without Peach and Luigi in. I cannot add Vaati without Zelda, K Rool or any third rep if Mario gets none....even Ridley without King Dedede upsets me.

But not that difficult.

Balloon Fighter for Retro
Dillon for downloadable titles
Isaac for handheld

Hmm... I could use some Wii representation with Shulk, increase Mario to three with Paper Mario, add in a beloved but controversial character with Banjo Kazooie (who just seems so unique in his standpoint, because he didnt used to be third party, and that is what I would want to represent, but ultimately probably not how it would be seen), Bomberman would experience a not too better fare, I may go Cooking Mama because I love her and she just adds something no one else I have does.... most other characters are just a bit too obscure at this time. This isnt the game to put my Sakurai brain on and blow some amazing choices out of the water and into the Shuriken.

Guess I should pull out Sakurai's requirements again.

But none of these are completely original, nor fully satisfying, so I will likely alter these additions after a night of pondering. Ultimately I am indeed a bit screwed having not added too many from Mario or Zelda before this... so, I know what I must do next round if I make it through with whatever I come up with this round.

I get what you mean, I had some tough choices too like picking Robin and Donbe + Hikari over a guy like Ridley or Chrom, but I did because I like them more, and no one else has them.

Gotta admit that's freaking clever. And true regarding Awakening and the internet.

I had to add 5 newcomers that made sense...
K Rool. I can't add Dixie Kong before Diddy Kong, that makes no sense at all. And DK is a very large franchise, deserving of 2 reps this early.
Ridley. Metroid is HUGE and that fact that on the real roster he's not there... is surprising. Easily deserved a spot before villains like Wolf.
Shulk. Xenoblade is huge after just one game! And like Ridley and K Rool, he's one of the most wanted characters!
Isaac. Golden Sun is arguably the largest Nintendo franchise yet to receive a playable character. He's a big deal too.
Palutena. In my opinion, she is currently the most likely newcomer, so if anybody has Pit already added and didn't add her, I have to ask: why? She has the importance, popularity, and moveset to deserve being here so early. Despite Kid Icarus having less games than the other series with 2 reps, she adds a staff character, which is easily enough. I know I have added a KI newcomer before a Kirby newcomer, bur this is a newcomer, and Bandana Dee does not make sense yet. Plus, other people. And other people that did this also put Palutena over a 2nd Zelda rep. So this isn't a valid reason to vote me off.
I think these 5 are the most prominent possibilities for Nintendo Newcomers in Smash 4.
I could see Chrom, Takamaru, Miis...
And even though Dixie is also high on the list, I simply can't add both her and K Rool, I don't even have Diddy.
This is the best roster I could make out of what I had, and I think it's pretty good. Do you agree?

I definitely know what veterans I want to add next round...
I'll get more risky next round or the round after that.
We're still adding the major characters, we're only at 25. Just doesn't seem right to start adding some of the characters that were added. But alright...
