Louie G. because Greninja and Toon Link. Greninja before Jigglypuff, Lucario, or even Charizard doesn't seem right to me.

I voted for Louie G. for this same reason.

Not to mention it's too early for third parties imo.

Some interesting character choices for so early in the game. Wonder Red, Wolf, Waluigi (of course that was kinda just thrown in there), and I feel it may even be a bit soon for Shulk.

Ultimately I voted for Louie G. Throwing on Toon Link prior to Zelda or Ganondorf is an odd call, as well as having a third party character so early in, and of course, Greninja before another Pokemon like Charizard or Lucario. I know we're all hype about it, but it just doesn't sit right.

Voted for Louis G for the same reason as everyone. Greninja and Toon Link are cool characters, but... it's does not seem right to put them before other more well known characters like Zelda, Ganondorf, Lucario or Charizard... It's also way too soon for guests right now.

1. Platinum does NOT own any of the franchises they've created. Bayonetta is a SEGA IP along with Mad World, Anarchy Reigns, and Vanquish. 2. Wonderful 101 is co-owned with Nintendo making it a second party franchise. Now tell whats more likely? Second party IP or a third party IP to a company that already has a character in Smash.

The Wonder Red thread says he's 2nd party. I'm not sure anymore.

I voted for Louie G. for multiple reasons: I feel it's a bit too early for Mario to have more than three characters; Greninja and Toon Link shouldn't be added over the likes of Lucario, Charizard, Zelda, and Ganondorf; Fire Emblem, Pikmin, Wario, and Animal Crossing all lack representation; and it's too early to start adding third parties.

Hmm, seems this round I could have indeed stuck with Mii over Diddy. But maybe that made it a good move. Sometimes the opinions on this thread/site are hard to read- the moment anything announced by Sakurai changes, half of the opinions change with it. Clearly this site-game is not entirely about thinking of this video game as if oneself created it. That's my observation for future roster makers

Ah well, I've got plenty of ideas.

once I put the essentials I just started putting the ones I want. if I get eliminated doing that, than that's that

well putting wolf and dedede are logical, they are two important villains and characters (wolf is generally seen more important than falco by a little less than half of the community) along with being veterans and very well liked characters, so they really aren't bad choices, toon link is a bit and very debatable.
greninja on the other hand is a too soon to tolerate newcomer and so far has seen a lot of hate on the boards, along with having a lot less sense than characters like Charizard, mewtwo, Jigglypuff, and even meowth, so by following how this game usually plays, putting him in the second round was a bad move

you do realize that this is an entire biased based game correct?
the entire structure of how its based of is that users make rosters of what they want, and then other users vote for the roster they dislike the most, some users might have gone advance and use series balance and other things to determine a precise way to vote, but its main point is to have a collective community of voters vote for the roster that they as individuals don't like or like the least, I disliked louie G. roster the most, so I voted for it,
I have no grudge or hatred against him, and rather in fact admire his guts for adding him during this stage, but that doesn't change that i don't like greninja for more than one reason or think its way to early for him to be in this round.

and for that second sentence it was more or less a way for me to say that i don't care about series balance or making sense in rosters regardless of who votes for me, i'm more or less just adding characters i think would be good in smash or i want

It's still a little early for me to vote based on uniqueness since these early rounds usually consist of getting the important individuals in first.

Ergo, I'm going to use my main as a more biased way of voting this round...

Surprisingly far more people have Yoshi than I was expecting(last game he took longer to appear on the majority of rosters), so I'm voting for the only one who didn't. TheZombiePig gets my vote.

I'll start doing uniqueness in a few rounds time.

Eh, whatever.
I usually add the most recent newcomer announced, as I did last time with Rosalina.
And it isn't too early to have 4 Mario characters. Given Mario's popularity and importance, about half the Smash Bros roster should consist of Mario. But of course it doesn't.
So I don't see why I can't add 4 of the most iconic Smash Bros characters ever and a newcomer who is going to show up on everyone's roster anyway and get voted out instead of a guy who added freaking Waluigi to his roster.

Okay, there really are a lot of rosters I just dont like for one reason for another, and I cannot use my basis of last round, which roster overall looks the most imbalanced for what it has... because that is many. Wario is in some without Peach (which, is strange to me, even if he gets the big W icon-- especially since many seem to hate separating Yoshi), we've got all sorts of strange newcomers, half the contestants jumped on the Charizard bandwagon-- so, as I don't vote for my favorite, I must choose my least. What criteria then?

I'm gonna have to make the majority vote again. Simply put, I don't think Toon Link deserves a spot anywhere, and to see him in any roster right now is a pretty immediate trump card.
I'm not a big fan of some of the other choices in this roster, but Toon Link, I believe, is the only one on any roster who I think just flat out doesn't belong in the game, never mind it being this early.

So, Louie, Lone... its between you two.

Swift Majority came at the hands of @ Louie G. who has fallen this round. Perhaps it was the inclusion of Wonder Red, a character who isn't third party truely, but is still to many a "questionable choice this early in the game" along with Mega Man? Either way, I appreciate your participation.

• PALUTENA BLESSES THE BATTLE - Palutena's a no-brainer. She's the most iconic Kid Icarus character after Pit.
• RIDLEY MAKES HIS BIG DEBUT - Ridley was someone I immediately knew I should add this round. Though he may be in Smash soon, I'll add him here for now.
• KRYSTAL ENTERS THE BRAWL (yeah I got nothing) - Krystal is the most niche idea for a second Star Fox rep, so I added her.
• ANNA BUYS INTO THE SKIRMISH - Anna is my unique niche character; someone who hasn't been in Smash yet and would be a unique choice.
• TAKAMARU HONORS THE BATTLE - Takamaru is the most popular Retro on Smashboards, so no one would be upset with this choice!
• HONORABLE MENTIONS: Lip, Ghirahim, Samurai Goroh, and Mii.

Ridley Clawes All - Ridley is in because of his and Metroid's cultural status in the Nintendoverse, he is highly requested and important to Metroid.
Shulk Smashes In - OK, Shulk replaces Greninja. Xenoblade was a huge hit and Shulk is one of the unrepresented franchises.
Palutena Floats On In - Palutena is the second most major and the recurring assistant to Pit on his adventures, and the secondary protagonist.
Lip Launches In - Lip is my retro choice for a newcomer because of her popularity in Japan and status to Sakurai.
