my bad, that direct took the most of my attention, along with the rate their chance thread

since I already built up some franchises, I just added onto them, including those that needed a second, and one because I wanted too

also before the direct, I was planning to use pokemon trainer in place of Charizard. . . . but I don't really feel okay using a deconfirm character, even on a fan roster

Yoshi (Yoshi's Island series) : The last of the original 8, finally in the spotlight! A largely popular and deserving character, great for Smash Bros!
Luigi (Super Mario series/ Luigi's Mansion series) : An extremely iconic character, almost everybody knows Luigi, and nobody can doubt his ability to be unique when taking moves from his sub-series! And of course he's confirmed ad will be in every Smash game that will ever exist!
Bowser (Super Mario series) : The villains start here, and Bowser is possibly the most iconic videogame villain ever. He is also quite unique.

Now I originally planned to add Mewtwo here. I even planned to put Shulk over Luigi, but I'm not doing that anymore. Recent events have convinced me otherwise.

Charizard (Pokemon series) : Easily more iconic than Mewtwo. The most popular original starter. Easily most iconic Pokemon after Pikachu. Mewtwo's chances of being added to Smash 4 have been slightly slimmed, but Charizard is confirmed. And the hype for him is now. He's a huge deal. And his Mega X Evolution will make an interesting Final Smash?
Zelda (Legend of Zelda) : Of course Zelda should be the 2nd Zelda rep! She's Zelda! And without her, the roster has no mage-type character. She was the 2nd Zelda choice in Melee, alongside Sheik. However, that's not what is happening in Smash 4. So that's not what's happening on my roster. Zelda is alone, Samus is alone. Expect Sheik and Zero Suit in the future.

Nobody can doubt the extreme iconic-ness and importance of Yoshi, Luigi, Bowser, Charizard, and Zelda.
This roster also divides series equally to what they deserve at this point.

The three big series each got a second, most important rep, and one of the next biggest did too.
I was tempted to make it the princesses, but ultimately, they without the enemies seemed strange to me. So we have
Ganondorf and Bowser.
Red was split from Pikachu this round, as he is the most important Pokemon character. How he works: he uses six Pokemon, and he technically switches between them, but really its just an immediate summon as he himself is on the field; each Pokemon will perform one or so attack, and his attacks are almost entirely impossible to predict by competitors, because of the quick summons. These six Pokemon are Squirtle, Icysaur, Charizard, Espeon, Lapras, and Snorlax. They are not each a moveset!
Diddy Kong beacuse that series needs another rep, my roster needs some more dual representation at this size, and his style of play is so far unrepresented in my team.
Little Mac to balance out my series' reps, and add an old character.
