Vivian over Lucas

She would similar stats to lucas, but a bit floatier
Vivian would also be 2d
All of Lucas' generic PSI attacks are replaced with shadow
Side Smash is vivian delivering a fiery punch
Neutral Special is infatuate, a similar attack to PK freeze only it stuns instead of Freezes
Side Special is just renamed Fiery Jinx
Up special is Veil, it is a reskin of Mewtwo's Up Special
Down Special just has her create a sphere of shadow instead of PSI magnet
Final Smash has Vivian charge forward with all of the companions form TTYD

Lucas stage: Saturn Valley

The stage takes place on the roofs of 2 houses from Saturn valley, and you can jump in a lake there too, you can see Mr. saturn in the background just going about their business
If bringing back stages is allowed
:rumblefalls:
Returning from Brawl, this stage is back, with improved graphics.

As for the echo, let’s face it, Dixie Kong will win this one.
However, in this case, Dixie Kong would go solo as a Diddy Kong echo (no offence to Kiddy). Dixie would use her Bubblegum Gum as a neutral special and her Helicopter Hair as her up special.
Lucas echo: Claus

Art by u/HappiestPony on Reddit.

Lucas' beloved non-brainwashed brother joins the battle! He has no stat differences, but his animation are less clumsy and more (over)confident. Admittedly I'm mostly submitting this one because of the potential for sappy wholesome fanfiction. Lucas' Claus alt will be removed to make room for this new echo. but the other Claus alt will remain on Lucas

Diddy echo Dixie and Kiddy Kong (Stance change echo with DK)

I am atoning for my sin of making fun of Kiddy Kong in a status like a week ago.

Dixie is slower on the ground than Diddy, but has better air mobility and a glide, is heavier, and is slightly bigger; while Kiddy is faster, smaller, and lighter than DK but less powerful, worse in the air, and lacking DK's infamous spikes (though he does keep the hand slap spike). Down special is the stance change, with both's origins down specials moved to back - Dixie's banana propels foes up instead of making them trip and her peanut popgun is a bubblegum gun. Kiddy wears his dummy in his mouth to give him a bit of visual distinction from DK and a more innocent look, but he does still have his iconic screech

Diddy stage: Bramble Blast

Black - hard platform
Blue - brambles
Red - semisoft platform (can go up but not down)
Yellow - barrel, tilts left and right slowly, meaning it could either launch you into ground or into brambles.

Squawks will appear to provide items to the last place player.
View attachment 369977

  1. Stickerbush Symphony (Original)
  2. Aquatic Ambiance (New Remix)
  3. Jib Jig/K. Rool Returns (New Remix)
  4. Eddie, Let Me Go Back to My Home

Lucas stage: Skullker Hideout

From Drill Dozer, another late GBA game about a kid with a dead mum; a heroic thief; and a girl with pink hair, this crime base is a large, tricky stage with a fun gimmick.
View attachment 369978
Red - soft platform
Yellow - laser
Black - hard platform

Blocks will appear to break - there are 4 kinds of block: gear blocks (break them to gain a gear displayed on your HUD, you have one by default), brick blocks (can be destroyed by any fighter), steel blocks (can be destroyed with two gears), and purple alloy blocks (can be destroyed with 3 gears): blocks explode once destroyed, dealing more damage and covering more range per durability and not hurting the one who destroyed them - at certain points, a Code Red lockdown will be enacted where bricks don't spawn and walls appear around the stage, making KOs impossible.

  1. Skullker Hideout
  2. Art Museum/Clink Prison
  3. Third Gear
  4. Bonanza Elegy
Was gonna submit the Sunken Kuru Ruins theme, but I was mostly using that because I wanted it for Wuhu Island, I'll save that song for if I add a water-based Others stage.

Spirit:
Howard and Nester
Legend

Opponents: Lucas (Claus colours), Kazuya (white tuxedo (Mii Brawler with business suit if DLC not purchased))
Stage: Mushroom Kingdom 2 (Hazards on)
Song: Title (NES Remix 2)
Rules: You will become fast, big, or metal at random points
Lucas Echo: Kumatora

Slower and lacks a tether grab, but has stronger PSI attacks.
honestly i would love claus; i'm just submitting kumatora so i can contribute something today

Diddy Spirit 1: Helper Monkey

  • Opponent: Giant Donkey Kong (second alt)
  • Allies: Small Diddy Kong (x3, eighth alt for now; Will likely swap it when we do Diddy alts)
  • Stage: Kongo Falls
  • Music: Battle for Storm Hill
  • Rules: If all the Diddies are KO'd, you lose.
Lucas Echo: Black Mage

  • PSI attacks are Dark magic
  • PK Fire - Fira
  • PK Thunder - Thunder
  • PK Freeze - Blizzard
  • PSI Magnet - Scourge (same hitbox as PSI Magnet, allows for slight air stalling like it, but afflicts poison to opponents inside the bubble for longer than a few frames. Deals 1% per second for 13-15 seconds)
  • A few staff attacks (nair, fsmash, uair), all are functionally identical.
  • PK Starstorm - Judgement Bolt. Joined by Thief and Warrior. Ramuh can be seen in the background actually doing the attack.
Lucas echo
  1. Black Mage
  2. Vivian
  3. Kumatora
  4. Claus
Please vote for your top 2

Diddy stage
  1. Rumble Falls
  2. Bramble Blast
Diddy echo
  1. Solo Dixie Kong
  2. Dixie and Kiddy Kong
Skullker Hideout will be Lucas' stage by default since Cashregister didn't provide the 4 songs. In future I'll be mentioning in the job announcement post that the 4 songs are required. Apologies, my fault really.

(I want to save Kuma for Little Mac)

Lucas back special: PSI Ground

Lucas takes hold of tiny chunks of ground, floats them above his head, and then enlarges them to slam down when the button is released, a spike equivalent to PSI Flash/Freeze, but only goes directly up, making it better as an anti-air than an edgeguarding tool

Diddy back special: Banana

Diddy throws a regular banana, which he or his foe can eat, great for baiting foes or confusing them by keeping it out at once with the peel.

Spirit:
Mike Jones
Ace

Stage: Tortimer Island
Song: Zelda 2 Overworld
Opponent: Lucas (Claus colours), ROB (blue)
Rules: Lucas spawns with a home-run bat, Banana Gun tidal wave, hostile Mother Brain ATs will spawn

Song: Final Boss (TOP SECRET)
Stage: Yoshi's Story
Opponents: Lucas, purple Incineroar
Rules: Lucas favours up air, Incineroar likes to taunt, Bunny Hoods and Lip's Sticks spawn often.

Alex Kidd

Stage: Omega Duck Hunt
Opponent: Diddy Kong, tiny Mr. Game & Watch x 3
Song: Yuyuki Medley
Rules: Defeat Diddy Kong to win, Diddy Kong has powerful fist attacks, Game & Watches favour side special, you will turn metal and slow.

Lucas Echo Votes
  1. Claus
  2. Kumatora
(Shoutouts to Black Mage - Hope he gets resubmitted for Robin.)

Diddy Kong AT
When summoned, Diddy will actually follow you around, acting like a psuedo Ice Climber for a short time. He can be KO'd, though.

Diddy Kong Back Special: Simian Spring

More of a diversion from the source than usual - Diddy flips backwards, allowing him to get some space. He can also cancel the flip into a midair jump or aerial.

(Shoutouts to Chimpy Charge and the Cartwheel, which were both briefly considered - I went with Simian Spring since Diddy already has an approach tool in the form of Monkey Flip.)

Diddy's stage will be Bramble Blast, and his echo will be Dixie and Kiddy.

Diddy Kong Back Special: Simian Spring

All other subs from yesterday will be used by default

  1. Black Mage
  2. Vivian - 3
  3. Kumatora - 3
  4. Claus - 3
We have a three-way tie! I'll leave voting open for a little longer. If you want to modify your votes to break the tie, reply to the thread to tell me.

Submit 16 alternate costumes for Dixie and Kiddy!
These should include the default costume

Submit 8 alternate costumes for Diddy Kong!
These will be added on to Diddy's alt list alongside the existing alts, not replace them

Since one of the echo submissions would directly modify Lucas' alt list, we'll leave alts for him until the echo is decided

We haven't decided on Vivian's alts yet, however since your descriptions of which alts are used are very vague, they will probably apply no matter what alt lists get submitted later.

Dedede stage: Mischief on Mobius

This stage is based on the iconic Saturday morning cartoon "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" - in terms of layout it takes the form of a rather short Final Destination clone, the stage tilts like Pilotwings as it dashes through the surreal, abstract, Spumconian world of AoStH - you can see the mohawked Sonic from the show chasing down Robotnik in the background. The big gimmick of the stage is that a variety of different cartoon setpieces will close in on the screen, ranging from cliche to bizarre, all of which will damage you if you don't dodge them in time. Every hazard can be seen before it hits, but some are bait-and-switches (for example the crusher from the credits, which doesn't actually crush even though you go past it) - compared to the hazards on Pilotwings, these are a lot more frequent and are much more likely to hit the actual battleground and not off-stage, but are also easier to predict

Music:
AoStH intro/Robotnik's Theme
No Way! No Way? (30th Sessions)
Pleasure Castle
Versus (Sonic Eraser) (New Remix)

Sonic stage: Fall of the Death Egg

You begin in Death Egg Zone, which very quickly proceeds to explode, the platform falls down to the earth as you go down through an asteroid crater in space and past the sun; the magically re-building Sky Sanctuary as you circle around the rising Angel Island; the mountaintops of Hilltop Zone with it's fauna coming back home at sunset; through the water into a special zone; and then a loop. The layout is similar to Delfino's Secret from PM or Tremorton Joyride from NASB, albeit a lot more predictable. debris platforms that transform from Battlefield, to hazoff Smashville, to PS2, to Kalos, to FD, and then back to Battlefield. The base platform has a slight downwards slope. With hazards on, the stage tilts slightly as it falls.

Sky Sanctuary Zone (Modern)
Diamond in the Sky
Can You Feel The Sunshine
Big Arms (Sonic Generations 3DS)

Dedede echo: Abominable Snowman

A playable representative for Windows! Technically Microsoft doesn't own this IP, but I'll just use the Geno clause and say it counts as part of Windows, which we've already represented. Most of the hammer attacks are intact, but he uses a variety of different skiing equipment for them - might be the skis, the poles, the flags, or even a ripped-out-the-ground tree, meaning his disjoints will have wildly varying range. He's one of the fastest fighters in the game, but also quite heavy at the expense of being pretty weak. He has Wario's chomp as a down special - giving him two possible command grabs alongside inhale, his Gordo is him burping out a skiing helmet from his prey which propels foes towards him NASB Helga-style, and his up special is an upwards ski move resembling Squirtle's with snow coming out.

Sonic echo: Super Sonic

super smash flash moment. He's slower (around the speed of Greninja or Mewtwo) but more powerful and has more jumps. His Final Smash summons Super Tails, Super Knuckles, and Super Shadow for a giant blast. His Up B resembles Fox's instead of using the spring.

Sonic Echo: Knuckles
I would have chosen Shadow (and I’m sure Shadow would win), but Knuckles would work in this game. His down special has him burrow underground, before emerging to strike opponents from above. His up special has him glide upwards, and his fist attacks deal more damage.

Stage I’ll work on it later

Being Sonic's artificial replacement, it's only fitting they duke it out. She's heavier and slower, but many of her attacks have electric aura, and kick attacks are stronger, from her large boots. For her Final Smash, she powers up using the Dynamo Cage.

A scrolling stage. The fight starts across a long steam train. When the fighters reach the locomotive, a platform based on the Tornado picks them up, raising them high into the desert sky where the Uber Catkiller attempts to knock them off. Once it rests, the fighters are lowered into the actual saloon, and then proceed to the theater, where the Heavy Magician turns into Bean, Bark and Fang before warping them back to the beginning.

King Dedede Stage: Dedede Arena

Imagine if Boxing Ring's side ramps weren't walkoffs, turning the stage into a standard one. That's Dedede Arena in a nutshell.
Sonic Stage: Emerald Coast

Seeing as all the Sonic stages in EAC so far have been from the Classic games (or based on them in Press Garden's case), I wanted to at least throw a modern stage into the mix.

Emerald Coast is primarily based on the bridge chase segment of Sonic's version of the stage. The background mostly depicts the ocean, although several aspects of the stage proper (including the beach area where Sonic starts his version of Emerald Coast) can be seen in the background. Ocras periodically jump out of the water, and Big can be seen fishing at a nearby pier.

The stage takes place on three seperate bridges, each held up by intangible poles. The left and right platforms are walkoffs, while the middle platform is raised slightly above them. The ocean beneath the bridges can be swam in for a limited period of time, but will eventually cause fighters to drown.

With hazards activated, an orca will periodically swim across the bottom of the platform, dealing heavy damage and knockback to fighters who make contact with it (almost always a one-hit KO given the circumstances). After the orca leaves, the platforms are left askew, remaining that way for a short time before repositioning themselves to normal.

Sonic Echo: Classic Sonic

Kind of ironic given my rationale for Emerald Coast, but I've come to appreciate this little guy as a potential clone more.
  • Classic Sonic is technically slower and lighter than Modern Sonic, but his smaller frame makes him harder to hit, and his attacks hit just a little harder.
  • Classic Sonic's dash attack and down smash are borrowed from Modern Sonic's Brawl moveset.
  • Neutral Air is replaced by the Insta-Shield; It's a single hit and has less active frames, but it nullifies projectiles entirely.
  • Forward Air is a forwards dropkick-like move, resembling Mighty's wall-jump animation from Knuckles' Chaotix.
  • Down Air is a double-footed, non-stall-and-fall stomp.
  • Neutral Special remains the same, but gains an orange aura as a reference to Sonic 3D Blast.
  • Side Special is a new move entirely, being a Flame Shield Dash. It's similar to Wonderwing in execution, but can be used indefinitely, isn't invincible, and exchanges power for range.
  • Classic Sonic's Spin Dash is a mixture of Modern Sonic's Spin Dash (hold to charge, single hit) and Spin Charge (no jump at the start, more momentum).
  • Classic Sonic's version of the Super Sonic Final Smash is more of a standard install; He cannot fly, but is faster, stronger, and immune to damage (but not knockback). He also gains a third mid-air jump, and the Flame Shield Dash becomes a Super Aura Dash (which is mainly an aesthetical change aside from the inherent Super form buffs).
I do have spirits in mind for both Dedede and Sonic, but I'm going to do those later since this post is long enough as is.

Alright, I'm actually gonna do my spirits now, since I just thought up a Dedede echo I really like!

King Dedede Echo: Penguin

Penguin is similar to my Sans over Ness submission from a while ago in the sense that while a lot of their moves mirror Dedede's, they're done in unconventional ways which still match up with the general hitboxes/properties of the originals. To make it easier for WaWaWa to judge whether or not it'd be eligble, I'll seperate each changed move into a Reskin/Tweak or a New Move.
  • Penguin is lighter and smaller than King Dedede, but is faster and generally has less lag on their attacks.
  • Reskin/Tweaked Moves
    • Jab is done with Fluffy the fish and lacks a rapid variant.
    • F-Tilt is also done with Fluffy.
    • All of Penguin's smash attacks have them try to wrangle a Mullet, resulting in hitboxes resembling Dedede's.
    • Forward Air uses the Water Hammer from Card-Jitsu Snow.
    • Up Air uses a hot sauce bottle to spray fire upwards.
    • Penguin's Forward and Back throws use a snow shovel.
    • Neutral Special uses a chat bubble as a more standard command grab. Penguin is more mobile while carrying an opponent, but doesn't gain knockback resistance and can't use it on projectiles. (I think WaWaWa mentioned this idea in a status post, so shoutouts to him.)
    • Side Special has a tap and hold variant - The tap version has Penguin throw a weak snowball, while the held variant has a puffle jump out of nowhere to serve as a more direct analogue to the Gordo Throw. The puffles can be pretty much any of the standard puffles (sans the White Puffle due to size differences), but this is only an aesthetical difference.
    • Up Special uses a Jetpack to propel Penguin upwards. You can still use the stomp (taking the form of the butt stomp from Smoothie Smash), but you won't produce a shockwave upon landing. As a trade-off, you have more horizontal control.
    • Down Special is similar to Jet Hammer, but instead uses a Jackhammer to create a shockwave around Penguin rather than just hitting in front of them.
  • New Moves
    • Dash attack has Penguin ride forward on an inner tube.
    • Back Air has Penguin throw an icy sheruiken behind themselves.
    • Down Air has Penguin throw a Golden Anvil downwards, ala Mega Man's down air.
    • Penguin's Up Throw has it toss the opponent upwards like a pizza.
    • Final Smash is similar to King Dedede's Final Smash from Brawl, only with puffles instead of Waddle Dees.
I actually went with a consistent theme for each type of move here - Grounded attacks are fishing-based, aerials are Card-Jitsu/ninja themed, throws are... throws, and specials consist of the more iconic Club Penguin stuff.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled program!

Blaze the cat over Sonic

Moveset is very similar just her specials and smash attacks are infused with fire and Side Special has her turn into a spiral of flame instead of another ball.

Final Smash has her use the sol emeralds and become burning blaze, the final smash is the same as Sonic's but with fire damage.

Sonic Echo: Surge the Tenrec

Being Sonic's artificial replacement, it's only fitting they duke it out. She's heavier and slower, but many of her attacks have electric aura, and kick attacks are stronger, from her large boots. For her Final Smash, she powers up using the Dynamo Cage.

Sonic Stage: Mirage Saloon
View attachment 370123
A scrolling stage. The fight starts across a long steam train. When the fighters reach the locomotive, a platform based on the Tornado picks them up, raising them high into the desert sky where the Uber Catkiller attempts to knock them off. Once it rests, the fighters are lowered into the actual saloon, and then proceed to the theater, where the Heavy Magician turns into Bean, Bark and Fang before warping them back to the beginning.
Tracks:
Wildstyle Pistolero
Rogues Gallery
Skyway Octane
Wild Canyon

EDIT: changed Penta spirit content to remove potentially offensive references to Yume Penguin Monogatari

King Dedede Special: Giant Dedede Swing

It's basically Spinning Kong - It doesn't give Dedede any super armor or vertical height (although it does slow his fall), but the hammer will deal a single strong hit and block all attacks. In addition, its grounded variant is faster than DK's in exchange for the aerial version taking a speed nerf.

King Dedede AT
When summoned, the king can't be bothered to do any of the work himself, so he sends in Waddle Dees and Doos to do the dirty deed! It's basically a nerfed version of his Brawl Final Smash.

Sonic AT
When summoned, Sonic runs around the stage at high speed and attempts to perform a melee combo or Homing Attack on anyone nearby. He can be KO'd, and when he does, he drops a couple of rings which can be collected to restore some percentage!

I'm going to hold off on any more spirits until the current echo votes close.
