Alright, I'm ending the vote a bit early cause there is a clear winner here:

Dragon: 28 points
Endless: 11 points
Cayman: 9 points
Derek: 2 points
Raphael: 9 points
L/B: 17 points
Landsknecht: 2 points

And there we have it. Our next fighter in this roster will come from 7th Dragon!!!

And now it's time to decide on who it'll be:

Job #245: Submit a 7th Dragon character

Uhhhh yeah it's time! There's a reason this series was submitted in this format: there's a ton of great options here that would be delightful to see in a fighting game. If you need to do research, the wiki is at least pretty good when it comes to documenting all the playable classes, and also, while only one game has been officially localized, all the others have fan translations, so you could theoretically make some time to actually play the games. Whichever way you choose with this prompt, I hope to see some great picks thrown out here.

Submitting her again

Momomeno from 7th Dragon
Part of the princess class from the original 7th Dragon game on the DS. Their singing voices give their friends encouragement, and steal away the strength of their foes. With enough time, they can even control the thoughts of all around them. The Main objective of princess class in 7th Dragon is too strike fear on the opponent with their controlling voice. princess can evoke status ailments of all kinds and debuff/buff enemies and allies greatly. They can even forcibly make enemies commit suicide or be used as meat shields from the other incoming attacks. SO how do make this working a fighting game? by Summoning and abusing dragons from the series to submit to her doings. There's alot of dragon enemies, each with their own gimmick and the point is too kill them all to get to the final boss.

Also enjoy music from the series, done by famous Streets of Rage composer, Yuzo Koshiro.

I'm resubmitting Hacker, as I'm pretty proud of that write-up

Job #245: Hacker (7th Dragon)

View attachment 332677

Hacker class made its debut in the 2011 release of 7th Dragon 2020 and appeared in its sequel. It’s a support-based class that excels at buffs and debuffs. While it’s not the main cover class (that honor goes to Samurai), the design for female Hacker is especially popular, appearing in a costume in Phantasy Star Online 2, getting her own figurine, and being a popular choice for cosplayers with her gothic Lolita aesthetic. In fact, she was so popular that, the last game brought back her as DLC even though that game has no Hacker class (and used her doll as a mascot).

View attachment 332678

Aside from being a popular choice from a reasonably successful series, Hacker also boasts impressive moveset potential. Being a geek rather than a weapon wielder, she would mostly fight with weak attacks from her chakram and doll but would have powerful hacking skills to compensate for them. She can hack her opponents to take more damage from her, steal their stamina to heal hers, and inflict them with status ailments like sleep or poison. Her super moves even include hacking a satellite laser to rain down destruction or the game itself to give herself a temporary cheat mode that negates damage.

As the designs in 7th Dragon aren’t necessarily tied to character classes, this can also be used to sneak in some fitting skills from other classes, like Idol’s megaphone attacks or Psychic’s dark spells. Despite being a silent character, Hacker could have plenty of personalities to show off. Other than having quite a few talented voice actor choices for her lines, she also has cheeky video game references like using a SEGA Saturn controller in one of her animations. A mission mode involving her collecting toy capsule figures is almost a given.

As Hacker has a male counterpart, anything above applies to him as well. They most likely would be alternate costumes for each other and already come with color variations from their game. (If anyone’s curious, the female Hacker’s default name is Chelsea, while the male one is Red)

Job #245: Natsume Hikasa (7th Dragon)

Natsume-Hikasa-7th-Dragon.png

!!! WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR 7TH DRAGON 2020 !!!

The chairman of Murakumo, a monster extermination group specialising in killing the dragons that plague the world.

Miss Hikasa is a woman obsessed with pure talent. As a result she has dedicated a lot of her time to nurturing people with 'S-Class' skills, as well as studying practical application of genetic engineering and dragon physiology.

Unfortunately her obsession with the gifted causes her to hold those with skills in high esteem whilst treating those with less talent with more contempt. This has stemmed from her own insecurity about her ability, of which, whilst impressive are a step below where she wants them (classifying them as A Class) and constantly seeks to strive for better...

This includes using her knowledge of genetics and dragon physiology to alter her body into a hybrid dragon-human goddess known as Mizuchi. Once she ascends she abandons her humanity and goes on a murderous killing spree seeing those weaker than her as trash. Yes, that's right, this is an antagonist submission! Surprise!
7th-Dragon-Dragoness-Mizuchi.png

Mizuchi.png

In Battle of Ages, she could potentially activate her Mizuchi form after taking enough damage, being pushed to the brink of her abilities and willing to cast her humanity aside to briefly gain the power of a god. In this form she'd have many of her powerful elemental dragon spells becoming stronger and faster than before at the cost of it only activating when she's incredibly low on health.

When battling outside her Mizuchi form she could have the ability to summon Murakumo soldiers to send into certain death situations and personally borrow abilities from the 2020 classes including the Psychic, Destroyer and Trickster classes to round her out.

Edit: Added additional images in spoilers. Look at own risk!

Samurai

I know NOTHING about this series whatsoever. I figured a class would make sense since that seems to be what the game is all about and while Duelst or Princess might be a little more interesting I think a Samurai character could be fun. We don't really have one unless you count Sakura and Gemini.

We don't have any princesses that aren't Kurumi on her roster and I absolutely LOVE the idea of this class. An ojou-sama, high class, ohoho-ing sort. Trained in vocal techniques and uses a rose whip. Check out her skills at the link below and tell me she wouldn't be awesome in a fighting game?? Sorry that this writeup is a bit truncated but I just think 7th Dragon has a ton of cool classes and would LOVE to see this one on our roster for variety's sake. I know that one of the characters nominated was a specific princess but I think just this sort of class type could still be neato.

So it’s like kingdom hearts? Like with Disney and square-enix
Not really, Kingdom Hearts is completely owned by Disney. Square Enix is the developer of the games but doesn't actually own the IP, barring the content that comes from their own games.

Job #245: Psychic
Psychic.png

The Psychic is a class from 7th Dragon 2020. They kind of serve as the more magically-focused class in the game, acting as a sort of successor to the first game's Mage class. Except they're, well, psychics! Here's a look at their movelist:
From here, you can gleam a pretty good show of what they're capable of: elemental magic, summoning out vortexes and energy barriers, creating illusions, they have a very cool kit. But the main reason I'm submitting them is I absolutely love both the male and female designs. This is one of the rare classes where I'd actually rather we go for the male design, but both are very cool. Their sort of default official names are Pain for the dude and Pink Harley for the lady. They are very cool and I'd like them to get in

Alright! It's voting time!

Here's the thing though: as to not split the votes, I'm merging submissions that are part of the same class, so for example, both the 2020 Samurai and Yaiba were submitted, and then it's kind of a mess having people vote for just one or the other, so what we'll do is depending on which one wins, we may do a vote on which design/incarnation we go for.

Anyway yeah cool swag let's vote

Princess ( Captain Shwampy Captain Shwampy , Flyboy Flyboy )
Samurai ( ssbashworld ssbashworld , @Darkonedagger)
Hacker ( osby osby )
Natsume Hikasa ( YoshiandToad YoshiandToad )
Trickster ( cashregister9 cashregister9 )
Psychic (ya boy)

Vote for your top 3 picks - you can self-vote, but only in third place.

1. Psychic: I tend to love psychic characters in general, so this is a big win
2. Princess: One of the more unique class ideas in any RPG. Honestly the class I think is most iconic to the series, despite only being in one game.
3. Natsume Hikasa: Self vote, but hey...more antagonist representation. I think she's a fascinating character. I originally planned to go for Ally for similar reasons, but then I stumbled across Miss Hikasa.

Shout out to Samurai, the only class that's in every single title.

alright sorry I'm late lol

And the results.....drumroll please.......

Princess: 19 points
Samurai: 5 points
Hacker: 9 points
Natsume: 13 points
Trickster: 1 points
Psychic: 17 points

This was....a tougher race than I expected. Some of these put up a good fight. But we have a winner, and I am pleased to announce that the final Season 2 character will be the Princess!!

Now there's the question of, er, which of the princess designs we go for. I personally think they're similar enough that it doesn't really matter all that much, but still, if anyone wants to throw their hat in the ring on this matter, they are free to do so.

And now here are our jobs:

Job #246: Submit a moveset for Princess

ohohohoho

Job #247: Submit a 7th Dragon stage

i do not have much to say. submit a stage from this series.

Job #246: Princess Moveset

General playstyle:
Princess is a tall lightweight fighter with low survivability and mobility but can keep her opponents at bay with her long-range attacks and can punish mistakes with devastating efficiency. As she's weak against both rush-down and zoner characters, Princess fares better in team matches as a supporting member for her team, though she's nothing to scoff at by herself when used by experienced players.

Princess's animations reflect her royal status: her attacks are flashy and elegant, and she's not in a hurry while walking, only lifting up her skirt while dashing and holding it down during freefall.

Notable normal attacks:

Princess's attacks mostly involve her whip, thus giving them high reach but also making them slow to come out. Exceptions include her hip check dash attack, double-slap jab, and high kick up-aerial. She possesses a rather grab that can be used to snap the edges in the air.

Specials moves:

Neutral Special: Temptation of Faint. Princess sings a few notes, creating a field around her that sends all enemies asleep. It also charges her assist timer a small amount. This move has a high ending lag and using it in quick succession increases it. If the enemy is inflicted with Fear, this move also steals their assist meter and health.

Side Special: Piercing Scream. Princess sings a short tune, creating a musical note above herself. After moving forward for a short while, this projectile falls down, knocking opponents up. If they are inflicted with Fear, this projectile will try to home on them.

Up Special: Nine Tails. Princess shoots her whip upward, pulling anyone above her to herself. If used in the air, she can step on top of the opponents to launch herself up. This move can also grab ledges to aid her recovery.

Down Special: Punishment Whipping. A counter move where Princess covers in dread, only to dodge out of the way and retaliate with her whip if an attack connects with her. This move inflicts set knockback and gives the opponent Fear debuff. While this debuff is active, their dodges grant them less invulnerability, and their shield health is reduced.

All-Star Move: Queenly Training. Princess performs a short dance and sings, as the entire stage is decorated with musical notes and petals, putting all enemies to sleep and giving Princess increased speed and strength for a while. Any enemies inflicted with Fear and above 100 will be instantly KOed.

Other:

Aesthetics:
Princess's design uses her single appearance in 7th Dragon, with all of her four appearances being alts (Momomeno, the blue-haired one, is the default). Different variants have slightly different animations in order to suit their personalities better. Princess has no dialogue and she's voiced by Yui Horie in all regions.

1676387523327.png
1676387508254.png
1676387502302.png

Entrance animation: Princess saunters to the stage in a flurry of orange petals, drops a curtsey, and brandishes her whip.

Taunts:
Taunt 1: Princess wraps her arms around herself and sighs as if the sight of her enemy disgusts her.
Taunt 2: Princess performs a short dance and blows a kiss.
Taunt 3: Princess lashes the ground in front of her threateningly.

Victory Theme: A short arrangement of Battlefield - Swords Bursting

Victory Animations:
Victory 1: Princess lashes with her whip twice and holds it taut between her hands.
Victory 2: Princess dances and sings as she spins around herself before looking at the camera above her shoulder.
Victory 3: Princess kicks the camera to send it reeling back, then laughs while covering her mouth.

Job #247: Submit a 7th Dragon stage
Great Corrosive Falls Of Roppongi

101.jpg

A building in Roppongi that has corrosive acid waterfalls raining out of it due to the Dragon Oceanus. The acid is over 20 times more potent than the strongest corrosive substance on Earth to the extent that it could quickly melt away human flesh. Stage will have platforms fall apart, dragon enemies that can spit acid at players, and dangerous acid rain warnings to let the player know to hide under a roof, touching the acid will of course damage the player.

Job #248: The Destroyer

The first Dragon boss you encounter, he completely wipes your party in one go leaving your guild bed ridden only to wake up a month later and discover that the world is facing an apocalypse. Sequels would follow the same running theme of getting wiped by a powerful red dragon in the beginning and waking up months later as humanities last hope for survival. Stages will be be filled with Dragonsbane flowers the moment he is sent out causing everyone to take 2% of your LIFE being near the toxic flower. He acts like any other dragon, aggressively chomping away at players, breathing fires, or slashing them.

Hey if they can make it work why not.
Her voice will buff the players attack and defense.
I should clarify I'm only allowing one nomination per person

As an assist they would go around the stage and use many sword slices utilizing all 4 of their fighting styles and they even have a counter. If you are unlucky enough to get combo'd by Samurai you will take incredible damage.

When summoned they will either be F!Samurai A-1, Male 2020, Samurai 1 or Samurai 4

Job #248: Duelist
Duelist.png

A new class to 7th Dragon III: VFD, the Duelist is a (typically) youthful character who combats opponents with a trading card game.

Whilst they have access to several different monster cards based around the elements that can deal all manner of elemental damage, we'll be focusing more on their trap cards.

When activated, the Duelist will do one of three attacks:
  1. Summon a Barbed Wire trap around the summoner, preventing opponents from approaching. This acts as a wall that cannot be struck through, although the summon player can shoot projectiles through it. Touching it will cause damage to the opponent. Lasts 5 seconds.
  2. Summon a Pitfall on either side of the summoner. If an opponent steps on this they will become embedded in the stage, unable to attack and left vulnerable. Does not affect the summoner, but will remain even after Duelist vanishes.
  3. Summon a Fire Whirl around the summoner. This deals burn damage, prevents opponents from striking the summoner with physical attacks and the swirling fire will block upto three projectile attacks. Lasts 5 seconds.
Duelist remains on the field for the length of their trap card summon as well as a further 5 seconds before they despawn. If attacked during this time they'll activate one of their field abilities, transforming the surrounding area into one of the following:
  1. Volcano will cause large fire damage to the surroundings, burning opponents who touch the ground near to them. Deals the most damage, but doesn't leave opponent unable to fight.
  2. Glacier will freeze the opponent solid, dealing no damage but leaving them very vulnerable to attacks from others for a short time. Stuns opponent for a long time, but does no damage on it's own.
  3. Storm Cloud will have lightning stun the opponent in the surrounding area, dealing both damage and causing them to be stunned. The stun lasts less time than Glacier, but will deal damage.
However, there are a couple of advantages for an opponent to activate the Duelists field cards:
  • The Duelist will remain out an additional ten seconds whilst the field is under it's new effect. As a result it'll take far longer to respawn for it's summoner, which can be used to even the playing field and summon it's traps again.

  • Activating the Duelists field attack with a long distance projectile move or throwing an item at them will allow you to avoid the surrounding damage on all but the smallest stages, and you can use it to put the hurt on other opponents, turning one person's assist into your own trap card to burn/freeze/shock them!

That finishes up the 7th Dragon content. Which means we're now moving onto the final stretch of content for Season 2:

Job #249: Submit a stage from a misc. SEGA property

It's time to decide on this season's misc. stage, and this time.....ah **** it, anything's on the table. Just as long as it doesn't have a playable character. Also keep in mind that this would take the winning series out of the running for playable rep
