Moving on, we are now doing our final piece of Season 1 content:

Job #230: Submit a boss from a series with playable representation

It's boss time. But this time, we're keeping it to bosses from properties that have playable characters. Why? Because, well, over the course of the project, a lot of the winners of those boss prompts have been from unrepresented IP, and bosses from playable series' had to be slid in as runner-ups. I understand why the former might seem more appealing, but I do think there's a lot of great potential with our playable series that keeps getting passed up in favor of the "shinier" picks. I do want to flesh things out a little bit, so this boss job is dedicated to IP that already have playable reps!

However, as usual, IP that already have bosses are out of the running. So no Sonic, Virtua Fighter, NiGHTS, Phantasy Star or SMT. With those out, the list of eligible IP for this prompt is as follows:

-Alex Kidd
-Yakuza
-Sakura Wars
-Space Channel 5
-Fantasy Zone
-Streets of Rage
-Skies of Arcadia
-Persona
-Bayonetta
-Puyo Puyo
-Valkyria Chronicles
-Super Monkey Ball
-The House of the Dead
-Shenmue
-Jet Set Radio
-Wonder Boy
-Shining
-Golden Axe
-Shinobi
-Virtual-ON
-Panzer Dragoon
-Ninja Princess
-Football Manager i guess?????
-Samba de Amigo
-Total War

Have a good one

I'm going to nominate Jubileus yet again - having finished Bayonetta 3, I feel confident in saying that Jubileus is the best final boss of the Bayonetta series.

Jubileus (Bayonetta)

The final boss of Bayonetta 1 - the Bayonetta series is known for being absolutely over-the-top in just about every way imaginable, and its bosses are no exception to that.

Jubileus towers over the fighters, the stages, and most other bosses - the stage is similar to Final Destination, taking place on a large flat rock that Jubileus occasionally summons in her later phases for the player to use as platforms. Jubileus will hover in the background of the stage, trying to punch at you - during this part of the fight, she can only be hit if you dodge her punches and counter attack, but she's not vulnerable for very long.

Occasionally, she will float further into the background, stabbing into the stage with the ribbons that adorn her body. These ribbons will fire missiles, and stay stabbed into the stage until they're attacked enough times - attacking these will damage Jubileus's health bar.

Once they've been attacked enough, the ribbon will shatter, causing Jubileus to be dragged back on-screen, stunned and woozy - at this point, she can be attacked directly for massive damage. As more ribbons are damaged, the background will change, and Jubileus's attacks will change accordingly:

-Space: where the fight starts out and finishes - Jubileus uses the above attacks (changes to Volcano after the first two ribbons are destroyed)
-Volcano: Jubileus's punches create geysers of lava on either side of them, making them harder to counter, and the ribbons shoot fireballs which move faster but don't hit as hard (changes to Blizzard after the third ribbon is destroyed)
-Blizzard: the ribbons shoot balls of ice that freeze whoever they hit, and icicles will occasionally fall from the sky (changes to Tornado after the fourth ribbon is destroyed)
-Tornado: the ribbons shoot balls of electricity which stun the player, lightning strikes the stage (indicated with yellow circles before the bolts hit), and the stage will be broken into three smaller platforms (changes back to Space after the fifth ribbon is destroyed)

Once the fight has returned to space, it's near the end, though now Jubileus will also throw galaxy-like spiraling disks at you, which move erratically and give you something else to dodge in addition to the punches. Much like Master Hand, Jubileus can only take so much damage while she's stunned before she's immune.

The final hit (after the sixth ribbon has been destroyed and her health bar has been depleted - she's permanently stunned once the sixth ribbon is destroyed, though much like Master Core, taking too long to beat her causes her to use an instant-kill attack) triggers a cutscene where Jubileus's soul is knocked out of her body and sent hurtling towards the sun, ending the fight.

Boss submission:
O-papa (Fantasy Zone)
1667684511558.png
O-papa is an antagonist and final boss of Fantasy Zone video game, made and published by SEGA in 1986. He is a spacecraft who is Opa-Opa's father and leader of Menon forces (the evil army of alien creatures from the series) In Fantasy Zone (1986), he invaded the fantasy zone to steal all the money from it to build his fortress on planet Salfar.
At the ending of the game, he reveals himself as Opa-Opa's long lost father and this leaves Opa-Opa with mixed feelings, which much time later would manifest into a Dark Opa-Opa, Forcing O-papa to resume his role of invading leader of Menon.

His boss battle in "Battle of AGES" takes place on Planet Salfar on flat floating platform that locates at left side of the arena (It can move in four directions: up, down, right or left). O-papa is floating around the screen (mostly in right side of the map), moving up, down, back and forth and he delivers very dangerous attacks to player.
(If the fighter has long ranged attacks or a single long range attack, it would be easier to damage him from distance. If the fighter doesn't have long ranged attacks, it could use aerial attacks to damage him)
O-Papa boss battle concept art.png

(The platform can move in 4 directions because it can help you to fight O-papa closer) (The yellow outline rectangle represents player and the oval on right side of the screen represents O-papa (the boss)).
The song that plays during the battle: Final Boss theme - Fantasy Zone

Speaking of his very dangerous attacks, here's the moveset:

Charge: O-papa launches himself and charges straightforward at the player. If you miss his charge, O-papa will go back to his position before his attack.

Pellet shot: O-papa shoots pellets from his mouth and if you got hit by the projectile, you'll get normal damage. (They can be deflected with some attacks)

Seed bombing: O-papa flies over the platform and drops seeds on you that explode upon contact with player or ground.

Beam shot: O-papa grows 5 cannons on his face and fires 5 strong beams at the player. They deal high damage.

Crabumger arms: O-papa grows arms from his body and attempts to grab a player. You can destroy his arms, but it doesn't deal damage to the boss.

Snowman shield : O-papa summons 8 snowmen that spin around him (acting like his shield). If you're ranged combat fighter, then you don't have problems with him and his shield.
If you touch a snowman without attacking it, it would freeze you. The snowmen are easily destructible by attacks.

Cloudy arms: O-papa makes arms from clouds and they rotate around him. If you got hit by one of them, you will be knocked back.

After defeating his 1st phase, he sends his parasitic aliens from his mouth to roam in patterns like in original game, but if you touch their blue line, you will be instantly killed. They can be defeated if you attack their heads.

When you defeat O-papa, he reveals himself as Opa-Opa's father and a single teardrop falls from his eye.
(The boss moveset was inspired by Fantasy Zone bosses' attacks)
(The boss battle would be mix of Shoot em up and platform fighter boss battle-styles)

Job 230: Selvaria Bles (Valkyria Form) (Valkyria Chronicles)

1667750172272.png

"But isn't Selvaria playable?!" Yes, she is! And that's cool! But let me sell you here because I think this idea is really cool. I'm going to say for more accuracy I probably could have named this boss fight "The Batomys" but I wanted to get your attention. ;)

So, chapter 7 of Valkyria Chronicles is an awesome chapter. In it, you meet Selvaria Bles properly for the first time, as well as Maximilian, the leader of the army you're fighting against. You uncover the secrets of the ancient Valkyrur race, and then you have to escape the desert with your lives. You see, Maximilian has brought his forces together to crush your little Gallian squad that's causing so much trouble for the Empire, and he spares no expense - tossing out hundreds of soldiers and bringing forth his absolutely massive war tank, the Batomys, to take you down.

1667750490695.png
1667750534470.png

This fight contains many complications, some of which I don't even want to spoil since they're such awesome moments, but midway through your attempting to stop this rout, Selvaria reveals her Valkyria powers and let me tell you she is no joke. She will fire lasers that will shred your units the moment you step out of line. She can one-shot your team and utterly wreck your strategies. There's a reason that after disabling the Batomys your only option is to get the hell out of dodge. It's an awesome, intense battle and a major story moment...so let's get it in the game. And how?

Well, here's my idea - we set a boss fight in the middle of The Battle of Barious. The whole thing takes place in a hazardous desert stage with forces fighting in the background, and your character has to scale the Batomys and take it down. Think of it like a combination of Master Fortress and the Sephiroth Challenge or Giga Bowser - as you scale the platforms of this monstrous war tank you have to destroy various targets on it - turrets, fuel tanks - and avoid the debris from battle, and make it to the top where you can disable the last fuel pod. All the while, Selvaria Bles in her super-powered form tries to kill you. You can, if you're lucky or skilled, temporarily disable her by getting her off screen, but she will keep coming back. It's an intense timed puzzler of a boss battle that represents a really cool part of the game it's from. For accuracy you might not have to finish her off at the end, just destroy the final turret at the top while she targets you with special moves (those damn lasers!) but of course the Batomys would have a ton of HP. Can you survive, or will you and your comrades be crushed under the might of the East Europan Imperial Alliance?

I'm going to resubmit the Magician

Job 60: Magician - Type 0 (The House of the Dead)

View attachment 327209

The Magician is one of the most iconic and popular boss zombies in his series, being the final boss of the first game who then appeared in almost every game in the franchise. He's a synthetic humanoid creature with pyrokinetic and levitational powers. Originally created by Dr. Curien, he has great intelligence and proves himself to be a formidable enemy to humans.

As a boss, he's fought in Dr. Curien's Lab, which is a completely flat stage. At the beginning of the fight, he floats down from the sky ominously and teleports a few times before saying"Who are you? Nobody gives me instructions. I shall destroy everything." His boss theme is Theme of the Magician (Arrange). Upon defeat, the Magician will shake and say "You...haven't...seen...anything yet!" before succumbing to an explosion. The Magician takes increased damage from his lower right leg, upper left leg, lower right arm, and upper left arm.

Move
Description
FireballWhile spinning, Magician throws two fireballs from either hand at the player before flying to another spot. These fireballs can be destroyed with projectiles.
Extra FireballMagician flies up and hurls four fireballs from both hands downward, which are difficult to shoot down with projectiles.
TeleportMagician quickly teleports through the stage a few times, leaving afterimages behind. He deals small contact damage during this move.
Heat ClawMagician encases his hand in flames and swipes it forward. Usually follows up Teleport.
Burning UpperMagician burns his hands and swipes forward three times while flying. Goes a good distance and hits connect to each other.
DesperationMagician creates a purple aura around himself before hovering down to ram at the player. He’ll only use this move once his stamina is below 50%.
PerfectionMagician does an overhead slash which creates a burning crescent in the air. This slash stays in the air for a while and then quickly moves forward, burning and knocking down Magician’s enemies.
CrematoriumMagician raises a hand and slowly creates a huge ball of fire above his head before sending it diagonally downward. This projectile deals great damage and explodes into a fiery trap upon contact with the ground. Dealing enough damage to the sphere while he’s charging will explode it prematurely and deal damage to him.
InfernoMagician flies to the middle of the stage and projects a large group of fireballs in the air. These fireballs slowly rain down on the ground and leave burning marks on the ground.

Job #230: Yatsurao from Shinobi (2002)
Yatsurao.jpg

So, Shinobi is a big series with a lot of games to pull from. But you know something I've noticed? Our major Shinobi representation basically completely ignores a big part of the series' history. We basically made it all about the old-school stuff, Joe is our rep, our stage is from Revenge, our assist is from Shadow Dancer....and of course these games are great and deserving of representation in their own right, but there's another really cool sect of the series' history that's so far gone untouched: the PS2 reboot duology.

You probably know this, but SEGA made a couple Shinobi games on the PS2, that are rather revered in their own right and also notable for their difficulty. Those games also introduce a whole new vast world and cast to pull from, including a lot of really cool bosses. So after thinking over my options, I decided on Yatsurao, one of the major antagonists from the first of the two games, mainly because I think he'd make for a better platform fighter boss than a lot of the other options while still being a major villain.

Yatsurao is a giant demonic statue who's one of the last bosses you face in the original game. Here, you'll be fighting him in sort of a plane-based layout, where he stands in the background behind you and you attack him from the foreground. He'll attempt to swipe at or crush you with his hands, but he can also cast some spells, such as making pillars of energy appear below you. He can also summon out small Hellspawns for you to deal with. I just think the PS2 Shinobi games are really really cool and I'd like to get them repped somewhere

Job 230: Elize and Galm (Shining the Holy Ark)

Two powerful beings that cannot be killed or age the Shining Force III saga. They are part of the Vandal race, a powerful god like ancient race that were masters of the world, known as the "Thousand years kingdom". The main villains in both Holy Ark and SFIII try to bring back that era but are ultimately stopped. Its argued that Vandals/Innovator aren't really race but more of a thing you can become like a "class" in way, in the beginning of Holy Ark our Main characters die and inherit the spirit that the spirit evolves in accordance with the bearer's actions, one can assume if they are good, they become an Innovator. If not, they become a Vandal. It can be genetically passed down but also be taken away. Honestly its very convoluted, along with some hacky translations, and we will never get a SFIV or a re-release of any of the saturn era SF to further explain this, and this brings us to these two. Elize and Galm are complete mysteries, We never saw them fully fight, we don't know there backstories, Their motives are a mystery too. Unlike the other vandals Galm and Elize do not want to bring back the kingdom. From what we understand Galm was the one behind the entire events of SFIII and killed Juliens father as way to get him to kill Bulzome to retain his title as strongest Vandal. One wonders what Camelot was plotting if Sega relations with them didn't go down the drain.

Despite the mystery with these characters we do know Galm can use Bolt, the most powerful elemental magic in the Camelot era Shining games. We also know Panzer (main villain and final boss of Holy Ark) is Galm son, so one can assume there's similar abilities involved so Chaotic Blizzard (launches a blizzard of demonic beings that does heavy damage) and Scorching Air (shoots out acid out of his body), One can also assume both can use Desoul (instant kill attack used by all power antagonist) and Demon Blaze (powerful attack that summons demonic beings like missiles used by majority of antagonist). The first time you meet Elize she kills a dog by summoning a Dark Bat , can teleport, and she seems to have rose visual present in her attacks.

So how do we do this fight? Well this mostly a tough endurance fight, There are no innovators in the rosters and we dont have the staff of Besem to remove their spirits so we cant fully defeat them. You first start off fighting Elize, she can summon enemies like Dark Bats to annoy, use Blast to blow you away, uses powerful bolt and Freeze magic, most importantly she can use Desoul to kill you instantly so you want to avoid this at all cost. After Elize is Down its Galm turn, he can use equipment of final bosses in SF can offer. Watch out for Desoul as much as possible and you need to be precise dodging chaotic blizzard. Its a tough battle but rewarding finally getting able to flesh out and fight two guys who are complete mysteries outside how powerful they are. Battle will be on Castle of the Ancients (Shining), id prefer it to literally be on the Holy Ark but thats not on here.

While were at it lets get some Holy Ark music on here

Job #230: Crymaria Levin

VC4_Crymaria_Levinc(1).png

The terrifying Winter Witch steps onto the battlefield.

Whilst not a cruel person, Crymaria is a deeply unstable Valkyria. Her power is said to dwarf that of Selvaria, but due to her lack of control Maximilian chose Selvaria over her. As a result, Crymaria holds some resentment towards Selvaria, but also wishes to be useful to the Imperial Army. This desire to be needed and useful has caused her to undergo extreme mental distress, which only cause her powers to explode in power.

Unlike Selvaria who is speedy and nimble, Crymaria is an incredibly powerful long range fighter who attacks with blue ice like crystals using her pure ragnite scepter. These crystal meteor strikes are extremely powerful and accurate but travel in an arc, forcing fighters to go low and use their dodges and shields at appropriate moments to get past the barrage.

Upon being beaten down enough, Crymaria's rage will take over with her being surrounded by a flurry of blizzard like particles as a safety shield that will turn red hot with her rage and hit fighters with fire damage.

To take the winter witch's impenetrable shield down, you'll need to strike her scepter's gem as she raises it to attack, which is of course easier with ranged fighters, but melee fighters may have to get a little more creative, such as smashing a crystal blast to pieces and throwing the shard back at her.

Once she is defeated, she will fall to her knees, temporarily seeming to have been defeated only for her power to overcome her once more. She holds her arms out as the power rages inside her. In one last attempt to be useful to her comrades she will attempt to blow herself up. However, the handsome general Klaus Walz will swoop down and embrace her bringing her back to her senses, as her fire grows ever hotter, and you can see them taking damage together, Walz willing to die for the woman he loves.

The player will then have the option to save the duo by smashing the gem in the scepter that is drawing out Crymaria's latent power and causing her to be overpowered by her own ability. Doing so will allow Walz and Crymaria to live and net a bonus to the player score...but you can equally be cruel and let them burn up together. But you wouldn't do that now...would you?

1. Yatsurao
2. Elize and Galm
3. Crymaria Levin

EDIT: A honorable mention goes to Magician, who I rather think should work better as another villain (who we lack of in amount) and mainline House of the Dead rep (compared to Rikiya Busujima, who debuted in a spin-off; cue different victory jingle).

Imagine the reveal trailer having a good ol' bad English (a la it's fellow 1996 narm-filled horror game series Resident Evil) and Busujima & Segata (a boss like Galeem; explosive martial artists) fighting down zombies in city before the latter was knocked down by a fireball (as a reference to HOTD's Saturn advert where he lost to a swarm of zombies as they're immune to his infamous throws and Curien's death when Magician betrayed him), complete with his HOTD2 intro cutscene's short rendition before kicking into a iconic battle theme's remix as the tagline comes out and gameplay footage starts. And perhaps borrow some elements from his Zombie Revenge counterpart (besides as a special alternate costume)?

I'm a huuuuge fan of the pass itself. PSO and Amigo were to me our two biggest just-missed-its and it's nice to see them. I know the Total War round was a lot quieter than any of us wanted, but I personally do really love that we got content from it in and apologize I couldn't be more active. And as an Alien Storm lover I'm super happy about this as well. Jubileus is a cool boss, not my number one pick but not a bad choice at all. I had a lot of fun and look forward to more waves - the last round was really fun and active. Oh, and Mr. Shakedown is an incredible assist idea.

Obviously I liked Metal Sonic and Stardust Speedway, and the fact that Knee submitted Cosmic Eternity for the tracklist made me very happy. Amigo is a fun inclusion that adds some levity to the overall tone of the fighters included. I can't speak much on Zheng herself (she does look badass), but Siege is probably my favorite stage of the pack on account I just find sieges to be really interesting in history and stuff. Super glad that Super Locomotive finally got in, due to how consistently it's been resubmitted and gotten good results in previous rounds.

Mr. Shakedown is super based, and I think it's really funny that Blue Dragon will be able to shake maraccas in the final game. I also can't say much on Jubileus but it's absolutely essential that we got a Bayonetta boss at some point, so definitely down with it. I probably would not have gone with Matoi myself out of the other options, but another Phantasy Star character was a must, so I'm glad she's in anyhow.

As for improvements...maybe an alternate announcer round would be fun? There were a ton of cool ideas for the announcer round (back when I lurked) and the concept of having multiple dudes yelling stuff has gained popularity with Multiversus, so I think that would be very cool.

Haven't been around as mcyh as I would like but this is pretty soild! I think it's a well balanced pass. A Sonic character, a popular all stars pick, a fan favorite Japanese character and a character from a Western title.

I did think someone like Shadow or Blaze would be neat but Metal Sonic did win me over in the end with the content we came up with, and the chanve for another villian character. I am no expert on PSO, and there where other characters I was interested in like the Robot Girl, but the write up and movesets for her won me over. Amigo is fun and felt long overdue. I'm glad we got him in. Zheng wasn't someone I was familiar with at all, but I'm glad to see another unexpected character. These weren't my most hyped characters, but I like them all.

Super Locomotive is really fun, and it's great to finally see it get in. Alien Storm is a game I have a real soft spot for . Mr. Shakedown is extremely based. A Bayonetta / Platinum boss felt long overdue too. This is a real great start and I'm exited to where we go next.

So I guess I'll chip in myself:

This is a weird selection for me overall, because I do think it feels very safe, but at the same time, I think we kinda needed to get the safe picks outta the way. Another Sonic rep was an inevitability. I honestly think PSO should have been in base, and while Matoi wouldn't be my personal choice, I do think her inclusion was good for this roster. I don't have much to say on Samba or Total War, these are probably the safest new series choices we could have gone for. That's not an inherently bad thing, mind you - in fact, I like that we got to sorta lay the groundwork. Now, with future seasons, we can go nuts. I'm very excited to see what we pull out for the future.

Anyway, yeah, I guess now would be Season 2 time. But I don't feel we're quite ready yet. So what I'm gonna do is segway into another discussion. A sort of second part, if you will. A look into the future. So I wanna ask you guys:

Discussion: What type of character jobs would you like to see in future seasons?

I wanna get some feedback here cause starting with Season 2, we're going back to more specific character jobs. So do you have any ideas for character prompts we could do? Any categories that you think would make for some neat potential?

First of all, I'm a big fan of how diverse our new fighters were so even if I'm not a personal fan of all of them, I like the additions in general. Especially Amigo and Matoi. The stages also felt like they were new and not something we already had in the game.

I think we did a good job with this season and it makes me excited for the next one.

I wanna get some feedback here cause starting with Season 2, we're going back to more specific character jobs. So do you have any ideas for character prompts we could do? Any categories that you think would make for some neat potential?
7th Dragon or Etrian Odyssey character. Same creator and all.

Sega Arcade Card game characters (Mushiking, Dinosaur King, Love and Berry, Sangokushi Taisen, Quest of D, etc). Due regional difference most people wont think much but Sega's arcade Card game history is massive, they required a ton of investment however but Sega always rotates or kill these arcades making many of the collectable cards people collect useless aside from sentimental value.

Another Sakura Wars/Puyo Puyo character. Popular japanese IPs with hundreds of popular characters.

Maybe an Atlus specific round? Like fleshing out Shin Megami Tensei more or delving into one of their other series (Trauma Center, Etrian Odyssey, Growlanser, Snowboard Kids?)

I was thinking about doing a job related to uncharted territory as far as our roster goes, but all I can think of are mobile games. However, there are not that many original options in that regard, and I fear that we might have a pretty monotonous nomination round.

Maybe a job for underappreciated genres, fighting, or platforms for example?

Alright, there we go, I think that's enough. I think we're ready.

I would like to declare that Season 2 of Battle of AGES has officially begun!!!

So how do we start this off? This season's first character job is in a similar vein to the last one's Sonic job, but for the other series we've been giving special treatment. It's time for:

Job #231: Submit a fourth Virtua Fighter character

Indeed, being IMO the most obvious choice for a SEGA fighting game after Sonic, VF is another series that's been getting its own jobs. So to kick off season 2, we're bumping up its character number to 4. You can submit any character from the series, have fun, yada yada. Also worth noting that this is like 99.9999% the last VF character we'll be adding, so make it count!!

VF Character submission:
Jeffry McWild
Jeffry McWild is a one of playable characters from Virtua Fighter video game series and he is a fisherman who mastered Pankration fighting style on his own.
Jeffry will stop at nothing to defeat his rival of many years, the dreaded Satan Shark. He is of Australian Aboriginal descent according to the game's lore.

Since he appeared in SEGA Superstars game, he wouldn't be a stranger for crossovers since he appeared in one.

His moveset would be based on his fighting skills from Virtua Fighter games. He would use his pancration skills to take down opponents.
His playstyle in this game would be similar to his playstyle in home series. He would be mid-heavyweight character with no additional movement option.

I nominate Jeffry, because like I said earlier, he appeared in SEGA Superstars before and it would make sense if he was in Battle of AGES (SEGA Crossover platfighter) since he isn't afraid of crossovers.

I am once again nominating Pai Chan because no fighting game is complete without an anime Chinese girl

Job #231: Pai Chan (Virtua Fighter)

Pai is a practitioner of the Mizongquan, a martial arts that focuses on unpredictable attacks from all angles, and an action movie star. She's the daughter of Lau Chan and a training partner of Akira. She's a consistently popular and important character and being essentially the "Chun-Li" of Virtua Fighter, she is one of the most prominent characters in other media after Akira.

Pai's moveset would be a more air-oriented take on the VF formula, given how her fighting style is especially dangerous against airborne opponents. Attacking with weaker attacks that leave little vulnerability after, she would focus on quick air combos over flashy finishers and balance low stamina with high agility. She's also a reversal-type character, which would balance the offense-oriented roster of Virtua Fighter characters well.

I honestly think we should go for someone outside the first game, considering that Akira and the Bryants all came from it.

Job #231: New Virtua Fighter Rep - Goh Hinogami

One of the series' antagonists/villain characters who debuted in Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution alongside Brad Burns, Goh Hinogami is a ruthless and sinister assassin who comes from a mysterious evil organization, Judgment 6 (a big plot-central group, keep that in mind), the sponsor of all the World Fighting Tournaments which's goal is aiming for world domination by gathering data from their participants to build the android super-weapon, Dural (besides having kidnapping Kage-Maru's mother Tsukikage as it's host, Sarah Bryant and Vanessa Lewis) and ordered him to kill every other character from the roster ever since he was rigorously trained in assassination arts after having been found and captured as an orphan by them besides his father's death and mother's unknown fate. Goh also acts as the rival of fellow J6 assassin Jean Kujo, Akira Yuki and Jacky Bryant (who's car accident J6 has caused before VF1) after getting defeated by him in the fourth tournament.

Funnily enough, Goh hasn't appeared in any SEGA crossover for what my knowledge tells. In fact, he is the favorite VF character of Tekken's producer/director since T3 (having voiced Marshall Law, Yoshimitsu & Kunimitsu in earlier titles), Katsuhiro Harada himself, who is in good terms with Yu Suzuki and wanted to add him in Tekken 7 before getting cut. In Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, he managed to get Bryan Fury's outfit for the Tekken collaboration DLC costume pack released earlier this year (which is quite spot-on, given being ruthless mercenaries who are known for hard-hitting brawler styles and laughing maniacally). I still want him or Akira as the VF/SEGA rep in this series.

(some attacks/moves like the Uchi Mata throw were VF4-exclusive, so don't ask why there's two movelist videos)

For the moveset in Battle of AGES, Goh specializes in his own aggressive/brutal variant of Judo techniques and combines his deadly vicious streak with these considerably "gentle" martial art skills usually used for self-defense (which is rather unusual for being an assassin himself), being able to kick grounded opponents, stomping down on their vitals, even mocking and laughing at them. This allows for a playstyle which normally revolves around slow and situational strikes, wild haymakers, heavy kicks/elbows, parrying melee/grab attacks & physical/close-ranged special moves with a "Kumiteharai" reversal move, and the ability to perform different kinds of tosses like picking up grounded opponents (akin to Geese Howard's Raimei Goha Nage in control execution) and a command grab which can be followed with several throwing moves, despite lacking in long juggling combos and not being quite fast.
