Naturally, we're now deciding on who the second Sakura Wars rep will be. Feel free to do as much research as you need to do, the series has a lot of pretty cool characters across several different casts. Some fun stuff here. So have at it!

Job 236

Gemini Sunrise

A member of the New York Combat Revue's Star Division, Gemini is a Cowgirl that pilots the Spiricle, Rodeo Striker, she also wields a Katana and a Revolver.

Why Gemini?

Gemini is one of the main protagonists in Sakura Wars V, The first Sakura Wars to be localized in the west, thus giving her more mass appeal as some people may have already played her game, not to mention her appearances in the Project X Zone series. Another reason to add gemini is that she is a ****ing Cowgirl with a katana, gun and mech.

Ngl I was really pulling for SMT since that's the only one on the list I'm super familiar with (oof, I know ), but if we get the samurai cowgirl it'd be a great consolation.

Job 236: Sumire Kanzaki

Daughter of the wealthy Kanzaki family, Kanzaki Heavy Industries who are behind the creation of the Kobu. Unlike Sakura who represents the Yamato Nadshiko(the Perfect Japanese woman) of the country side, Sumire represents the Yamato Nadshiko of the city side. Due to her wealth Sumire is a noble woman into the art of tea making and Naginata combat. Her Iconic Ojou-Sama/noble woman laugh should also brought up. (her main taunt)

Sumire ends up having a humorous rivalry with Sakura and Kanna, the two japanese women on the team. When they try fight over roles in the Takazuka plays, Sakura always ends up taking all of leading roles Sumire used to have leaving her with the typical evil queen/step sister/witch role while Sakura ends up as the princess. Kanna tomboyish attitude doesn't mesh well Sumire elegant and feminine personality so it often leads to funny arguments between the two. However despite Sumire intimidating noble woman appearance and inflated ego, she is in fact a very sweet compassionate girl who cares for friends and the captain. She is also one of the obvious girls outside of Sakura that is implied to actually be in love with Ogami even if you dont pursue her.

Sumire is voiced and performed (in stage shows) by Michie Tomizawa who also famously played Rei Hino/Sailor Mars in Sailor Moon. She usually performs very heavy brass samba like music. Tomizawa is also an actual Japan Action club trained stunt actress, in the Sakura Wars musicals they really take the opportunity to have her show some moves.

Michie Tomizawa would go to retirement for a short period time leaving an actual canon movie being created showing Sumire leaving the team because her spirit power needed to control the Kobu is too weak now. This is why she's the only returning girl in the 2019 Sakura Wars reboot.

Sumire is a heavily trained Naginata user making her an obvious long range fighter she is also visually matched with the element of fire and summons a giant fire phoenix to destroy wide area of enemies. She also of course just like the other girls has her own kobu that uses a Naginata as well.

Job 236: Seijuro Kamiyama

The main (playable) character of Sakura Wars (2019) fulfilling the role of Ogami as the player avatar. Kamiyama was childhood friends with Sakura Amamiya who revealed she wanted to follow in Sakura Shinguji's footsteps and become a member of the Flower Division. Kamiyama promised at that young age that he would become her captain and vowed to protect her.

However, eventually Kamiyama's family moved away and he forgot this promise, instead becoming a naval officer. He was put in charge of his own crew but was dishonourably discharged after his ship was attacked by demons. Whilst Kamiyama and his crew managed to save many passengers it resulted in the destruction of his ship.

Sumire Kanzaki (read above for details on her, she's awesome), put in a request after seeing Seijuro battle bravely against the demons and prioritising human life. As such he was reassigned to become captain of the flower division.

So...why Seijuro instead of Sakura Amiyama? Well...honestly, Sakura's a little too similar to her heroine due to quite literally molding her every waking moment after her. Seijuro is in turn incredibly similar to Ogami in terms of weaponry, comic relief vs. coolness and general skills, but with the rebooted Sakura Wars taking on a very different gameplay style we could lean into the heavier focus on action battling. Maybe even have him use the 'switch' mechanic that was implemented that allowed him to swap with one of the girls in his squad.

Job #236: Maria Tachibana

Maria Tachibana is one of the members of the original - and most iconic - Flower Division. She was born in Ukraine to a Japanese mother and Russian father, and fought in the Russian Revolution. Due to the trauma she suffered from these events, and her general calm and reserved demeanor, she appears cold and distant at first, but is actually just as caring as the other members of the group. Her height and looks make it so that she often portrays male roles on stage and she also used to be the captain of the Flower Division before Ichiro Ogami took over. In terms of fighting abilities, Maria is an extremely skilled markswoman and sharpshooter, so her moveset could revolve around her using not only her pistol, but also revolvers, snipers, etc. But that's not all - similarly to Sumire's association with fire, Maria is often connected with the element of ice, with it even being the focus of her special attack in battle. So we can probably throw that in as well to spice up her kit a little. Why include her? Cause she's cool as **** and has a peak design

Erica Fontaine
A Nun with guns.

A major character in the series originating in the third game, Is Pairs Burning? A member of the Paris Combat Review and a nun in training, she genuinely wants to help those in need, but her clumsy nature often makes things worse. She's also a dancer. This could also lead to a pretty fun moveset. We don't really have any gun users in DLC yet.

Kohran Li

Kohran Li is a mechanic and a member of the original Flower Division, first appearing in the original Sakura Wars. She's very charismatic and energetic, however her inventions have a tendency to malfunction in some way or another, which may be why she makes her boyfriend test most of them out (couldn't find anything on his name). I honestly think that could be a great concept for her moveset in AGES! For many attacks, she'll try to use one of her inventions, but have it blow up in her opponent's face - this being her primary method of dishing out damage. Maybe she could summon her boyfriend as well in some capacity? Given that many of these explosions would likely do a lot of damage, though, we can put some kind of con on them, like Kohran taking a bit of damage with each one a la Pichu.

But yeah! Kohran's a cool character overall, wish the Wiki was more comprehensive but what can ya do.

He'll appear in spirite form. He'll skate around the stage and kick opponents, then he'll grab them and slam them into the ground.

Gemini Moveset

Gemini would be a medium weight and relatively fast fighter who wields a gun and Katana

Her moves would primarily consist of kicks, sword slashes and quick low damage pistol shots

Neutral Special
Rock Wave: Gemini shoots a spread shot of 3 fireballs from her katana

Side Special:
Turning Swallow: Gemini takes her flame covered sword and dashes forward, pressing the button again has her turn back, the attack back does extra damage

Up Special:
Rodeo Wheel: Gemini jumps into the air and spins vertically (sort of like Screw Attack)

Down Special:
Quick Draw: A simple counter, Gemini readies her gun and if someone attacks her, she unloads the gun and deals great damage but it has some big end lag as she needs to reload.

All-star
Rodeo Star: Gemini gets into her Spiricle. Rodeo Star, and uses the attack Rambling Wheel which creates a large projectile of fire that moves forwards. Those hit are thrown into the sky where Rodeo Star goes into the sky and performs the attack Tyrant Of Texas which is just a large blast of power.

Suketoudara will spawn and start dancing and from here he will use a few moves
Surf Beat: Suketoudara poses and a large wave of Puyos and water explode fromh him
Ripple Turn: Suketodara starts to surf on a puyo and creates a giant wave of water when he turns
Funky Wave: Suketodarra does a different dance and fast moving low damage water puyos shoot out from him

Suketoudara ends the assist by using Dancin' all nights in which Suektoudara dances and if you don't taunt you take damage.

The Velvet Room

A Recurring location with an iconic cast of characters

This assist once summoned will cause a Door to the velvet room to appear, An attendant will step out of the door with the open door giving a visual of Igor sitting in a chair. Igor will snap his fingers and a PNG of a Persona will appear above the door, It will cast 3 spells and then disappear. After the persona disappears, the Attendant leaves an item on the ground, and the door closes and disappears.

Job #238a: Jam (Super Monkey Ball)



AiAi and friend's 'fitness instructor', Jam is an enthuiastic ape who ordinarily guides the monkeys through their routines in the Monkey Ball.

As an assist, when summoned he will put his summoners opponents into Monkey Balls.

Whilst trapped, opponents can still move, jump and attack (although projectile attacks will no longer launch due to the ball blocking them) and they will take reduced damage, but the cost will be reduced traction and take heavier knockback from attacks, causing them to fly absolutely everywhere from a solid hit. This assist only lasts for less than ten seconds, but the timing of activation can completely screw over an opponent.

Job #238b: Goji Rokkaku (Jet Set Radio)

When summoned Goji Rokkaku will flip over the record known as the 'Devil's Contract' and start DJing in his booth. Moments later a giant golden demon rhino will appear and firebombs the stage with it's flamethrower breath. Deals high damage, but the slow wind up from the demon can allow for an escape so you might need to time when your opponent needs to land on the stage the most.

Roo (Streets of Rage)
The boxing Kangaroo will pounce around the stage like a a Kangaroo is known to do. He'll find an opponent and then proceed to use them as his own personal punching bag, before finishing them off wirh an Uppercut.

Junpei Iori (Persona 3)
Junpei will set up and strike a baseball at an opponent, if it misses it will simply land on the ground, but jf it strikes Junpei will then attack that opponent, striking them and over with his bat before he uses them as a ball, striking them into the air.

Witch (Puyo puyo)
Flies around her broomstick summoning comets and crescents shaped beams similar to her movements in Comet Summoner. Is usually among the top 5 or top 10 popular Puyo Puyo characters in polls.

Elenor Camuel (Phantasy Star Online)
A Ranger Caseal. Will be equipped with Frozen Shooter(One of the best rifles) meaning getting shot by her bullets will freeze the player for a short couple seconds. Will use her MAGs Photon Blast to blast away the players before shes gone.
