Halo grand finals had like over 350 people spectating it.

Tekken was still small, but Grand finals people were really shouting and getting loud. That Korean player was HELLA good omg

Smash we were definitely the loudest and most crowdyest when it came to **** sets people were playing. LOL

Found Halo data

208 teams which would be 832 players from Halo.

All that is left is tekken.

Tekken 6 had 72 people in the brackets.

The only way we'll ever beat Halo is if only 64 teams entered, rofl.

Tekken was really really underhyped, actually. They kept saying over the mic, "Smashers, please lend us some hype". I was surprised that it was so small, actually.

Halo was definitely the biggest, but Smash was really really really well hyped. Some of the matches had some awesome chanting / cheering going on, it was amazing. Definitely the #1 most hype smash tournament that I have ever been to.

Well you just can't expect to beat halo at their own game. Halo online is plastered with MLG ads and they've built themselves a culture of fanboyism thats absolutely bonkers.

Smash, on the other hand, was as hype as I've ever seen brawl get. Every close match, even scrubs like me and random sonics, got huge crowds and massive excitement. That said, mlg brawl had nothing on melee at pound 4 for hype. If brawl was actually an exciting game to watch we would have blown the roof off of that place.

Part of the problem with Brawl is, once it gets to the finals, the hype straight-up dies. No offense to M2K and Ally, it's just something we've seen at literally every tournament they're at, so it gets old after a while.

IMO, we need to have a stronger international tournament, with Japan, Europe, and so on. We haven't really had a good showing internationally, other than Pound 4, but that was more for Melee than Brawl.

If people couldn't figure this out BEFORE going to the event, they aren't too bright.

Halo 3 > Smash > Tekken 6 as far as bringing people in go.

Halo is MLG's baby, if MLG dropped Halo they would be done. However, the pitiful turnout for Tekken makes me loathe MLG for dropping Gears of War. The event was still lots of fun, but if I could have watched GoW2 in-between Smash instead of Tekken....oh man. That would have been legit.

I dunno man. I was at Pound4 and Melee hype wasn't all that "wow"... Your post makes it sound like everyone was going crazy and seizuring at Pond4 for Melee, just short of blowing the roof off. : |

Did you not watch M2K vs. Armada? That was more hyped then any MLG match. But to be fair, there were more people at pound for Melee(350) than is even allowed for Brawl at MLG(256)

One set? To MLG's many sets? With MLG having less people? Oh come on man, I'm sure there were more hyped matches than that at Pound4, like when ChuDat was against this one guy, and uhh... Is that it? :lick:

Even worse was the lack of interest, even from the melee players, when melee Grand Finals were going on. People left, others went to play friendlies, and a couple more were watching BRAWL. Everyone complained about it as well, how boring it was to see two Jiggs space for the whole of GFs.

I can't see how Pound4 had more hype than MLG for Brawl. And with what you pointed out, the hype:players balance for MLG pretty much beat Pound4's, what with MLG having players from every game in the circuit watching and yelling, and Pound4 just having hype from the Melee players who decided to stay till the very end.

Nah man. I just mean people were more excited for hax v armada at pound than they were for like nick vs ally at mlg. And that brawl got massive hype even though its really a crappy game for spectating. And that if brawl was as much fun to watch as, like tekken for instance, we'd have torn mlg apart.

Ninja edit.

Yeah, they didn't want to watch jiggs dittos. Because its like watching brawl. Don't get me wrong, I love brawl, its way fun. It's just not entertaining to watch.

Well, Brawl is pretty fun to watch when you have some non-top tier players handing the beatings to the ranked players, in my opinion.

Don't worry, no offense taken. I know why people like watching Melee, I play it myself and we have some pretty decent players down here in PR. It's a totally different game than Brawl when spectating.

My response. If needed, tack on the sentence "Everyone knows that it's going to wind up being M2K vs Ally, no matter what."

Just saying, but Tekken was pathetic this tournament. Only about 70 people registered. 30 did not show up.

I was really hoping that Nick Riddle would have beaten Ally. That would have made the finals too ridiculous, but Ally vs M2K is always a given. M2K is a given just by himself.

Why are we talking about who was more excited? What a stupid conversation.
Why are you even voicing such a negative opinion on a topic you care nothing about? You're not even adding anything to the conversation other than trying to kill it in a very negativistic way.

Smash Definentely is a great community to have at mlg, Halo 3 is dropping and tekken isn't exciting at all tbh.

I can see brawl staying a long time
