PolarPanda recently heard a rumor Geno and Sephiroth were the 2 who went in for serious talks as DLC.

Crono would be the coolest one out of all of them, ngl. Both Toriyama-esque and from one of the most popular RPGs of all time? I too welcome the idea of Red Trunks.

Dragon Quest has major Music license issues. Same with the Chrono Series.

Geno is TBH, not that appealing for a DLC character and has been dismissed.

Sora well, he's been dismissed already.

Sephiroth is really well known in both sides of the pacific and there's the FFVII Switch Port and the Remake. And it's possible that additional FFVII content was held back to DLC because SE has Got to have more money!

Do you take any argument against Geno as Geno bashing?

At no point did I or anyone else insult Geno or his character or his fans. You have to admit that the Geno thread is biased towards Geno; It's a character thread, therefore it is inherently biased. You'd see similar things if Polar and co. posted in the Sora thread or the Erdrick thread. Of course people there are going to read into Polar's words more optimistically towards Geno than non-Geno supporters. There's nothing wrong with it, but it needs to be acknowledged.

The whole world isn't out to get Geno and his fans. People have different opinions towards him, and expressing those opinions is far from bashing or character attacks.

Geno has always been the underdog, dude. Nothing about that will change until he actually makes it into the game.

Personally, I'd love to get Anna in as a playable character, even over Edelgard.
And if they were going to add a character from Heroes, she could be a good choice since she's pretty much the most recurring character in FE.

She could also (somewhat) work as an Edelgard echo, depending on whether or not Nintendo decides to add more echoes and if her moveset does end up similar to Edelgard's.

And yes, despite the fact posted before, Anna does have multiple incarnations throughout the series, so you can technically get away with adding her despite her role in Smash already.

Alright, that's enough FE bias for one day. Back to speculation.

The thing about Anna that would make her a unique, quality FE representative is that she isn't relegated to only one weapon. She's been shown throughout FE wielding a sword, axe, bow and staff without reclassing (while these are all her different sisters, they're still source material to draw from). Anna could represent a totally new and reimagined Link-type moveset, using her different weapons interchangeably in a fashion similar to Robin, only sans-tomes.

If any FE rep is going to have a truly unique-looking moveset at this point, it's Anna.

I'm stuck in that awkward limbo between "too good to be fun with casuals" and "not good enough to play with common tourney-goers" because I don't have time to dedicate to really learn every detail of the game anymore. SFV is my fighter of choice; Smash is just more fun.

Honestly, while I usually am all in for speculation, at this point it's just a waiting game to see which leaker is lying/being misled and which one isn't. This is a lot less involved then stuff like the Grinch leak where new stuff was constantly coming out to either prove/disprove it. Honestly, it's kinda boring. I can't wait until either the DLC is completely revealed so we can know everything or a leaker just leaks them all at this point and gets it over with.

At least the game is coming out soon so we'll have something new to talk about.

I have zero history with any of the SE characters on the sacred list, but tbh the ones I want most are Sephiroth and Geno. Sephiroth because he's cool as hell and kinda hot and Geno because, well, he's the boy. Literally one of the most requested Smash characters alongside people like Isaac, Banjo, and formerly Ridley and K.Rool. I would be incredibly happy if he's in because, despite me not knowing **** about him, a lot of people I know irl and on this site would be ultra happy if he got in.

Oh of course. If I were in charge I wouldn't have the tournament until like, week 2 or 3 so everyone has time to get the game and learn how it works and stuff.

Same with the Chrono Series.

People keep saying this but I'm still looking for anyone to actually elaborate on it. The main composer for the game has worked on remixes for Smash(Vs. Marx in Brawl for example) and even was a Sound Designer for Smash 4 so the music rights are the last of Crono's issues.

Apparently, she got in without the director's consent, or so I've heard... In Smash context, Sakurai only adds a character if the feeling between Directors is mutual. If Capcom added Monster Hunter without Kaname Fujioka's consent, I can't see history repeat itself unless Capcom themselves strong-arm him into allowing Sakurai to use the avatar. That's what I'm basing my knowledge on, so apologies for not putting up that disclaimer beforehand.

To be fair, it's the Avatar that the series director has this weird crossover hate-boner toward. I've heard of talks way back in the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 days that the team was interested in the idea of Felynes as the Monster Hunter rep if there was one. Again, could be total bull****, but that's what I heard back then.
