Pretty much this. We have no clue who the SE rep is, and have little willingness to keep debating about who it could be instead of just waiting for more information.I don't think there is a consensus. Personally I think a DQ character makes way more sense to Nintendo and Square, assuming the rights can be worked out. But that's a huge assumption and I have no knowledge of the subject so yeah.
Yes.I'm afraid to ask, but...
folks who got leaked copies of the game...
what's the situation on Mii costumes?
How many are in the base game, and do I have to unlock any of them?
What was Nomura's tweet?Nomura's tweet and the absence of FF material doesn't give any strength to the possibility to you guys?
They are if it's as low quality as it has been with DQXI.
There's a difference between the MIDI used in Ocarina of Time and FFVII and the one used in DQXI
How do we unlock the costumes? Via the story, shop, random unlocks? How customizable are they?Yes.
Some news.
Need to be unlocked.
All third parties Mii costume got cut
thats because they seem to all believe the lie spread around that the Japanese game had orchestra. Idk who spread that bs aroundI never see anybody bring up the fact that Dragon Quest XI had a Midi soundtrack even in Japan, specifically to keep it the same as the international version. Square's already dealing with that composer. So we'll only get midi DQ music in Smash, we already have some of that anyway.
Alongside the art for Smash Bros., Nomura said he had a long week ahead of him and should get back to work immediately. What was Nomura's tweet?
it is I swear! I have to make a whole restaurant/lab combo for class. For school.
Sure.
This person is rigjt. You all should listen to themSometimes you just have to seperate the work from the one responsible for it. I mean, Lovecraft was a horrible racist and his stuff is still unique and worth keeping around.
Yes, the Nationalist and War Crime Denying absolutely sucks (to put it extremely lightly), but it has little to do with the Dragon Quest series itself and not wanting content from it appearing in a game simply due to a single person being an a-hole is sort of belittling the many, many others that have contributed to the series, such as Akira Toriyama, for instance, and the many who aren't big names that work on the various games.
Dragon Quest is certainly deserving on its own merit to appear in Super Smash Bros regardless of one of the big names behind it being a crappy person outside of his musical works.
I've heard the man is actually very friendly and kind, but he does have extremely disagreeable opinions..but that is all they are, opinions, and they won't actual impact anyone's lives other then being negative aspects from the creator of something they may love or loved since I doubt he'll be getting too many to agree with him in this day and age.
The official soundtrack release for the game was orchestrated (which was used to great effect in a music replacement mod). A few of the past games did this, too, even though they also used Midi soundtracks in-game. Dragon Quest has had midi soundtracks more often than not.thats because they seem to all believe the lie spread around that the Japanese game had orchestra. Idk who spread that bs around
Pit's face in Ultimate just seems really... off. Can't put my finger on it though.Has nobody made mention of Pit's disturbingly well-detailed teeth?
Maybe I should go and apply for Palutena's Guard, the dental benefits must be godly.
I am ashamed and you will forget I ever made this post.
A better way to put it is that a lot of people simply don't know how the music is handled in each game. Not like it's instant common knowledge. I honestly keep forgetting about this. The official soundtrack release for the game was orchestrated (which was used to great effect in a music replacement mod). A few of the past games did this, too, even though they also used Midi soundtracks in-game. Dragon Quest has had midi soundtracks more often than not.
The only time, to my knowledge, that this isn't the case is the international release of DQVIII and it was kept true to the original in the 3DS port released not too long ago with a MIDI soundtrack to the dismay of many. The official soundtrack release for the game was orchestrated (which was used to great effect in a music replacement mod). A few of the past games did this, too, even though they also used Midi soundtracks in-game. Dragon Quest has had midi soundtracks more often than not.
I do believe Dragon Quest builders was also orchestrated tooThe official soundtrack release for the game was orchestrated (which was used to great effect in a music replacement mod). Actually some really good art there.it is I swear! I have to make a whole restaurant/lab combo for class.
pictures in spoiler for those who don't want to see off topic art stuff
and thats only a lil bit of it, I don't want to flood you guys with unrelated art.
Maybe but could just as well be he's a game fan. Also Cloud is in the game. The bin got out. The Pokey spirit seems to be fake.

Maybe a DLC reveal at TGA?
The orchestral is somethign that only existed in the international release. the JP original lacked the orchestral soundtrack (and voice acting).I believe the last DQ game was DQ8 on the 3DS and that had really disappointing MIDI tracks compared to the original PS2 orchestral.
Perhaps that's where that belief started?

I’ve been more focused on the fact that his countdown involves the formerly unreleased Pit Victory Pose...and I ****ing love itHas nobody made mention of Pit's disturbingly well-detailed teeth?

Uprising Pit = Best PitPit's face in Ultimate just seems really... off. Can't put my finger on it though.
Like Brawl Pit looks totally fine to me, but new-Pit? I don't like it for some unknowing reason.
Or maybe, you know, he's gotta prepare for the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 in a little under two months. Development may be done, but there's still a lot to do once a game goes gold. AND THEN, once that's done, he has to get to work on the Final Fantasy VII remake and get the ball rolling on that. FFVIIR is also looking to be a highly ambitious project, and Normura more than has his work cut out for him.The bin got out. The Pokey spirit seems to be fake.

I totally do!................
I take it you don't do cute art?
When it comes to the possible Square-Enix reps, I feel it goes like this, from most likely to least likely. You guys are talking about the S-E rep and all.
What is the consensus in this thread regarding Geno and Sephiroth?
Don't forget the Onion. When it comes to the possible Square-Enix reps, I feel it goes like this, from most likely to least likely.
1) Sora (Kingdom Hearts) [not truly a Square-Enix character but...]
2) Dragon Quest Rep of some sort
3) Geno
4) Crono
5) A Non-FFVII Final Fantasy Character
6) Sephiroth
I just don't see Sephiroth, or any other FFVII character, as that likely when they could expand Final Fantasy exposure by including a character from FF-FFVI or FFVIII-XV, which would increase coverage of the series similar to how Fire Emblem has..other then having three Awakening reps due to Fan Request (Chrom) or Popularity and Easy Echo Potential (Lucina, Chrom). I could only really see another Final Fantasy VII representative as being likely if Nintendo & Sakurai decided to give each 3rd Party Company involved an Echo Fighter, being Zack Fair as Cloud's Echo Fighter in this case. On a related note, I could see these for the other left over companies: Sega: Jeanne (Bayonetta) or Shadow (Sonic), Namco: Ms. Pac-Man (Pac-Man)
When it comes to Final Fantasy reps, I could see the following characters as likely.
Terra Branford, the protagonist of the most popular Classic FF in the West, Cecil Harvey, the protagonist of the most popular Classic FF in Japan, Bartz Klauser, named dropped by Sakurai along with Terra before he ultimately decided on Cloud, Squall Leonhart, probably the second most well known FF character after Cloud & Sephiroth, Noctis, fairly popular currently, Black Mage, a generic class but very iconic design instantly recognizable as belonging to Final Fantasy.

Enough character discussion. It's time we fight like men, and ladies and ladies who dress like men. For Gilgamesh, it's SMASHING time!Don't forget the Onion.
Anyways, screw yall, Bartz Klauser for Smash.
He's the mascot of Job switching, and that ****'s a JRPG staple.
Remember that in the website, Cloud is listed as part of the FFVII franchise. Given the FFVII Remake is on the horizon and the OG game is coming, I think it's not far fetched to think it's legit possible, specially after complaints of the lack of content in the previous game. When it comes to the possible Square-Enix reps, I feel it goes like this, from most likely to least likely.

Better than the derplords that were the whole Zelda crew in Sm4sh...Pit's face in Ultimate just seems really... off. Can't put my finger on it though.

I am surprised by the amount of passion they have for their games. It definitely will be harsh for the communities when we lose them as directors for their games.Or maybe, you know, he's gotta prepare for the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 in a little under two months. It's no wonder he and Sakurai get along so well. They're both passionate but overworked game directors.
I don't think Onion Knight is that likely, OK is mostly known thanks to Dissidia Final Fantasy, they weren't part of the DS Remake outside of an unlockable class that most who played the game likely didn't understand the importance of at the time, being exclusive to the original NES version of FFIII that never really saw any substantial re-release/port and was only released in Japan.Don't forget the Onion.
Anyways, screw yall, Bartz Klauser for Smash.

As someone who's played A Link to the Past/Between Worlds, Ocarina of Time, Breath of the Wild, and not Twilight Princess, I'm really happy with the Zelda content in Ultimate.Better than the derplords that were the whole Zelda crew in Sm4sh...
Yes, Cloud is listed as belonging to the Final Fantasy VII series, but a simple patch could easily lop the VII off of the end in the game. After all, the Series Icon is FF in the Iconic Final Fantasy Font, not FFVII or VII or something more key to Final Fantasy VII such as the Meteor from the Logo or the Buster Sword. Its likely only listed as 'Final Fantasy VII' because the only content in Super Smash Bros. comes from Final Fantasy VII and nothing comes from the other games in the series.Remember that in the website, Cloud is listed as part of the FFVII franchise. To me, after some info I learned over the past few days, Sora and Slime are dead, Geno may be off because of Spirits. I see Erdrick as the most likely, followed by Sephiroth, and then Crono.
You should give Twilight Princess a try, its still a very fun Zelda game.As someone who's played A Link to the Past/Between Worlds, Ocarina of Time, Breath of the Wild, and not Twilight Princess, I'm really happy with the Zelda content in Ultimate.
Well the summons are at least from other games (except Bahamut ZERO who's a variant of the recurring Bahamut) and Ifrit uses his FFVIII design. The chocobo hat is also based on the Chocobo series and not FFVII. So there's some none FFVII content but room for more (room for more anything FF really).Yes, Cloud is listed as belonging to the Final Fantasy VII series, but a simple patch could easily lop the VII off of the end in the game. I don't put too much stock in Leaks, especially when Nintendo is well aware that there are well known leakers getting information from somewhere, I could easily see them throwing out false names and information to fish..and I don't tend to put full faith in leakers anyway, since very few times are any of them 100% right all the time.
You should give Twilight Princess a try, its still a very fun Zelda game.
